Actually, the Phantom Bullet arc (Gun Gale Online) isn't the one that is hated, the hated ones are the Fairy Dance arc (Alfheim Online - 2nd arc) and the 4th one : Calibur arc

the hate SAO gets is manufactured by early anitubers for clickbait revenue, the main perps even outright admitted it on other social media platform/forums too and yet they still to this day continue to make SAO hate video filled with deliberate misinformation because it gets them money but because it was done at a time when anime starting to become big and garnering a "normie" audience the misinformation latched on to the western anime community with a death grip by those who just took it at face value and/or regurgitated the same misinformation in hopes to capitalize on the clickbait hate revenue and now hating on SAO is basically more or less a thing to be a part of the "cool-kid's club" like you can literally ask yourself this, why is it that its only if not mainly the english anime community that seem to have this profound hatred of SAO that isn't seen elsewhere; because its not naturally induced but artificially fabricated

I think most of the hate came from all the "Jesus-kun" stuff and while it's undeniable that some things Kirito does in the anime to solve problems are pretty bs, e.g rezzing mid fight in S1 final fight, I have no clue why the fact that Kirito is op and a Mary Sue is such a crippling point of the series to alot of people. Not every anime has to be about deep character building and an underdog struggle, sometimes you just want to see op characters be op on increasing dire situations. Alicization is honestly one of the most hype and satisfying shounen arcs I've ever seen in anime, and it was concise and short which gives it extra points in my book.

@@njebs. except practically the entirety of his "jesus-kun" stuff either didn't actually happen or were grossly exaggerated just for strawpoints to proliferate clickbait revenue, the sheer fact that he struggles in so many fights already disqualify him from being op or even a mary sue e.g he never revived in the middle of a fight, the scene of him dying and reforming his avatar was entirely in his imagination in his head, it literally even mirrors his own imagined death at the end of the first ep when kayaba announced that everyone is trapped in the game and even under the assumption that he did revived from the dead then why would he impaled himself back onto kayaba's sword when the death animation shows him falling without a sword in him, why did no one reacted to him reviving himself including kayaba who should be the most surprised since hes the creator of the game and kirito's would-be-murderer but only reacted when kirito moved to stab him instead kirito reviving opens up so much logical fallacy for it to even be considered at all unless you just want to listen to what others tells you obediently without question and for the record, SAO isnt a shonen, as a light novel series it’s primary audience is typically older teens to young adults

@@YukiFubuki. um no you can literally watch the clip, his health bar completely blanks out and he remanifests as a transparent entity (don't know about the LN or anything, I'm talking specifically about the anime). I'm defending the series so there's literally no point trying to justify that stuff to me, we're on the same side anyway. It's completely undeniable that some of the conflict in the show comes off as superficial because we all know that Kirito will come in and fuck shit up anyway, not to say that his fights were easy but that we knew that the limits of his ability would far outclass literally any enemy. The only time he's really been challenged was with the final fight in Alicization and those angel things from Alfheim (and tbf they were only challenging because they were pretty much invincible). But why is that such a bad thing? I think if you take the series too seriously and still stand by it then that just means you enjoy shows with bad writing, but as a grandeus shounen romp SAO is one of my favourite series, especially with how thematically interesting the whole of Alicization was. Also, a shounen demographic and the shounen genre are a misnomer, whole yes shounen anime tend to be for a shounen demographic, it refers more to a specific style of anime e.g cast of likeable characters with powers with some sort of conflict. SAO while it may have been intended for an older teen audience, stylistically it is barely what Id call seinen, which tends to focus on heavier topics and are darker/gorier/edgier (if you will). Not to say SAO doesn't touch on more mature topics e.g Asuna's relationship with her parents, but outside of those story points is a very shounen anime.

In terms of the bump you're mentioning, it's honestly different for everyone. I've seen fans and blind reactors love and adore parts of the series that many others heavily criticize. In my opinion, I don't feel there is a bump, every arc has a different yet compelling theme to portray and while the execution of that portrayal isn't without fault, it's still very good. I would certainly recommend you guys checking the show out yourself and forming your own opinions because most of the criticism it receives generates toxic people who are too scared to watch the show, in turn they spread the propaganda that it's awful despite never having watched it.

I agree... One thing that made me respect SAO more is that the series was finished by the time the anime started. The author published it online when he was younger. Of course the execution wasn't the best... The only arc that wasn't written by 2011 is the current novel arc: Unital Ring.

**Alicization spoilers** so Kirito gets nearly fatally stabbed(or shot I forgot) so he gets put in life support which doubles as a machine that puts him in a simulation world full of artificial souls and he basically grows up in and has a second life on it, making friends with blond dude and girl

I don't think people will complain about you skipping the GunGale Alternative Opening since the series isn't that liked. You did the main series which is rare for a reaction channel to do since almost all of them skip on important ones by accident.

I really like SAO, it was quite the part of my childhood. Arc 1 (Aincrad Arc) is very good, a lot of time skips tho, Arc 2 (Fairy-Dance Arc) is good as well, but not as good as Arc 1 in my opinion but I still like it a lot, Arc 3 (Phantom Arc) is great, Arc 4 (Excalibur Arc) is rather weak, Arc 5 (Mother's-Rosario-Arc) made me cry, The Ordinal Scale movie I really recommend, as well as Alicization. Despite having some weaknesses, I really recommend watching it. Decide for youself if you like it or not^^

Sao was one of my first Anime i've ever seen. And it was for the longest Time my fav. Anime (replaced by Black Clover(through which i found your channel)). The First Season and Beginning of Season 3 were great. Season 2 wasnt (for me) as strong as the other mainly bc as you theorized the guns. What made the last part of season 3 a bit worse were some not really explainable and random events aswell some reptitive "events". I still think its a good show overall tho. Always get a bit sentimental while watching the last Op. Has some great Endings aswell.

Besides season 1 arc 2 and ggo: Sao alternative, I think it’s great. I haven’t seen alicization or war on the underworld yet, but I hear it’s a lot better than season 2 and it’s like season 1 arc 1, so It’ll probably be good

Certainly a 7/10. Some ark made you sleep but show the univers of SAO and the fan service is going a little too far sometimes. BUT the fights, the stories, the characters, the univer, the themes is great, become better and better ark after ark and sometimes broken your heart. A really good anime, really, so 7/10

It isn’t that SAO is “crap.” A-1 failed to adapt the Light Novels so a lot of people think it is crap. Personally, I would give SAO as a whole a 7-8 anime adaptation wise, but the anime did not give justice to the LN themselves. Regardless of how bad the adaptation was, still has beautiful animation+OST.

SAO community is large, there is more fans of sao than their haters, most probably the haters only watched the anime and hated the second arc, I don't blame them if it's not their cup of tea. But when you ask the light novel readers, it was written well that's why this story is so popular.

I think watch op 4 mother of rosario make you guys bit confuse because the main character is strangely change from guy -> elf guy -> feminime guy -> girl? -> guy again. Its because op 4 have two opening with different main character, kirito(guy) and yuuki(girl). *Fyi LiSA also sing op 5(adamas) and ed 4 (no more time machine) and (shirushi)

Many don't care, but, I think it's a real shame that the Caliber OP got missed. One of my favorite things about a SAO OP reaction is them noticing the same song, but hella changed visuals.

The only thing I hate about SAO are the rape scenes they are really not needed and feel forced(they add nothing to the story it's like the creator's think that we have a rape fetish or something) and the last 2 seasons is the peek of the series in terms of writing and I agree with you when people are hating on this anime it's not as shit as people say. Yes, it's not a masterpiece by long shot but it's not shit either it's like 7.0 and goes to 7.5 for me just for nostalgia reasons.

Please react to Soul Land 3D chinese anime. It's huge in China and has many fans including international. It is the best 3d animated series ever rated by fans. It has OP main character with non stop action. It will blow your mind. Fans are looking for youtubers to react to it.

Some complains about SAO i've heard so far : 1. Kirito being OP, bland, & gary stu (which is not true) 2. Rushed story, especially in season 1 since people want to see more SAO. (in this case, not enough materials to adapt to begin with). 3. Sexual harassment, assault, and rape attempt scenes in several season. For this one, i understand if people felt uncomfortable, but those scenes tied heavily with the issues/theme each season brought (politic, law, mental health, etc) and basically told us how technology will affect & facilitate people to do such things in the future. (the author apologise for writing those scenes tho). If you want to watch/ rewatch SAO, be aware that both haters and toxic fans often talk nonsense about this show. So if you have any question, then look for the answer on credible source (like SAO wikia or light novel itself)

Sorry, but I'm one of the people that hate SAO, however I did enjoy the GGO/Phantom Bullet Arc. Screw everything else, also sorry but spoiler, in op 2, siblings? Close, but no, they're cousins.

If you aren't completely spoiler warry, I reccomend watching kirito vs vecta, if you're worried about spoilers, kirito vs goblin cheif is very intruiging
