Today I jumped into the world of "Sword Art Online" and it's actually REAL! I never thought I'd see the day where I'd be able to walk through one of my favorite animes in a VR environment like this. This was truly something that I'll never forget!

Okay, I finally find a youtube video (recommended to me by someone else) where the creator actually enjoys SAO seemingly like I do. Personally, I've been preferring the books over the show, but the show still hits me with as many feels as possible. This actually looks like SAO not only from the show, but as described in the novels as well. This is genuinely making me so happy to see.

@@jimbreng8806look more i to newest technology trials. I would say way earlier, although first we are getting more into reverse as in augmented reality more accessible and way better. Still technology is accelerating. What was made between 80-00 and 00-20 especially 15-23 is astonishing 🎉

The game is not currently available atm but the closest thing to it is a title known as "Subspace Hunter" over on the Quest 2! I definitely recommend checking that out if you're an SAO fan! Should be able to find it over on Sidequest!

This game was showcased to be in development around the time Oculus released their first headset. Been waiting for news on it but I don’t know if it’ll ever been like the anime, not unless they further advance the tech of the vr.

Many years ago, a Chinese started this SAO project. At the beginning, he only did a hud on windows. As a SAO fan, I tried it. It was so cool. So it’s really amazing. I can’t imagine it’s already been such developed!

This looks so amazing; I'm genuinely going to cry once we get a true sword art online game (minus the nervegear straight up being used to off people). Especially with how quickly ai is developing, the tech industry is capable innovating so much faster now... and the future of vr/ar is going to be genuinely insane, I cannot wait to witness it. SAO was literally set in the year 2022-23 so we actually manage to have SAO like game is incredible, especially since back when Anime launched all of this VR stuff was in its infancy. They should legit officially try to make actual SAO game otherwise they gonna be missing out big times and so are the fans.

The “mix between elucidator and dark repulsor” sword is Kirito’s sword from Alicization Edit: after rewatching most of the show I have realized that it’s actually the secondary sword he uses in the Excalibur and Mothers Rosaria arcs

The boss room and fighting mechanics were amazing for a game still in development. This game once its fully finished will be absolute peak! bruuuh i'm with you on that one it's such a cool thing to have this game come out i love the idea of a full sao game in vr that has all the ui physics and such cuz the games we have now are a little bit of a let down like the actual games that follow the first season like hollow fragment and integral factor i personally want a sao game in vr that lets you create your character and interact with other players and possibly have a difficulty mode that makes it to where if u die in game your character get deleted and you no longer can make a character on that account afterwards i'm also a fanboi when it comes to sao i've watched the dirst season like 4 times and every now and then i'll just watch specific episodes

When i saw SAO i thought this would be so cool if it was real, but there's no way this is happening. Now i'm watching this and I'm like THE FUTURE IS NOW! Absolutely insane how far VR has come. The boss room lit up was mesmerizing. And today i learned how to trap people in a game - put the log out option in chinese XD Pretty sure Toast had to physically remove the headset xD

Ngl seen SAO waaay back when it was on toonami, im almost positive. Now this is a fkn upgrade, i would love to play VR in general but this takes the cake. Hats off to you devs. Lets hope it doesnt get bombed with micro-transactions.

Dude, i CANT WAIT until they get a FULLY realized SAO game in VR. And in know its probably too much to ask for, but i REALLY wish that they could get a REAL deep dive headset to work before the day i die. Because even if im like 90 something years old by then, i would die happy inside SAO....LOL.

Would be cool to have resistance feedback gloves to wear that provide limitations to grip for when you're holding an item like a sword or just about anything else you can interact with.

Bro I gotta admit, this really brought me back. Ah the good old days, when I first discovered the anime. The first arc (i.e., SAO arc) was really magical, especially the music. I really felt immersed into the game world, and I wasn't even playing it. Here's hoping they pick this up and it becomes legitamised hahaha

Isekai has certainly become my favorite anime genre. SAO is a big fav of mine, I'm super excited that they've returned to Aincrad with the recent movies. Should have been a full season or two instead of just half. The rest is great, but I just want more.

Commentary is more attractive than the game itself, I searched this game on Chinese website, found it is hyped, as a developer as well, the game needs unique feature! I feel the creators just piece a couple of common game functions together to make up a game that demands fan's interest, rather than making an interesting game that appeals ordinary people, obviously this game is a demo at most, and still needs more updates!

Every time you exit the game or remove your headset, your character dies and have to start a new character.

Hardcore too, gotta start all over again if you die. That's the closest you can get to actual SAO without ruining the game after all.

@@poppers7317 As a player yeah, but if the developers did that as a feature the game sadly would have bad sales. That's what I meant with "ruining the game", people these days are kinda sensitive and wouldn't take it well unfortunately.

also what's amazing is that we are so close to actually having a full sword art online game and in the anime they are trapped in there from 2022 to 2025 ish so we aren't far off

Not really an SAO fan because of the story, but the world has always fascinated me and it's really cool seeing that translated into a VR game

This is the first I've seen any playable media around SAO, and I'm all here for it. One thing though, it's a Chinese game? From the way you were talking in the beginning it sounded like this was someone's side project they were doing with probably just a handful of other programmers and it was some sort of hobby project, not an actual "to be released" game. Either way, this would be my reason for finally pulling the trigger and getting a VR setup, even if it's just for this EA version.
