TBH,I think it would be absolutely hilarious to see a Hermit make a Hermitcraft version of Spam, out of a head or something like that, and mail it around to everyone. Once all the mailboxes are in anyways. OOh ooh, there could even be a behind the scenes "war" over who's spam/ spam packaging/ spell taste/ spam marketing is better. Lol!😂
Don't worry, even if your granddad was a kid in WW2, you'll be granddad in WW3. Or at least as old as one if you're lucky. The chances of any of us having children is decreasing every day so it's just like 30% chance you'll be an actual granddad(mom), and your entire ancestral line will have all been for nothing, millenniums of blood, sweat, tears, and tales, all ending because we failed at doing life. Good luck.
There's one way to solve this "dilemma" . Invite the man himself and let the swords speak. I'm pretty sure they've killed each other in MCC multiple times before
The "legal term" etho was talking about is "Gardyloo" which originally came from the french "Garde L'eau" which basically means "Watch out for water!" And yes, was used when emptying chamber pots out of upstairs windows into the streets
11:47 That’s *old* lore but all the new ethogirls including Joel are just finding out about it which is adorable. How about this for some not just lore but actual proof? Etho streamed once upon a time in 2015. During a modded stream on twitch, a chatter asked “can anyone else hear Etho’s beard scratch?” and Etho the absolute panderer back then just goes ahead and vigorously scratches his beard into the mic and says “yeah, that’s a half a day beard.” All of his old streams are on youtube, just put in etho + secret streams. This one is from his April 10, 2015 modded stream at 1:03:24ish.
I got the Hermitcraft Subreddit in-between Seasons in case S10 was announced there, and because I don't know how to turn it off I get notifications Anyway I saw a notification of someone posting the new Etho Lore and it broke the whole Subreddit with how wild everyone was going I had actually always imagined by the sound of his voice that he was a Lumberjack living in the Woods/Mountains seems it's not too far off, also sounds perfect I want to live away from the hustle and bustle of the Suburbs especially if he still gets wifi that's like Paradise to be alone but still have Internet
Iskall would need to bring an offering every time he deigns to bask in the glory, the presence of a God, who is eleven feet tall and very handsome. Yeah, that bribe didn't work out too well. A minute of air time in exchange for an elytra. Got em. Wonder if Iskall get any new subs?
I never watched Joel before Hermitcraft and now he’s my second favorite to Iskall. Having them together is the best. I hope they really do an end bust.
Redstone Help: Honey Bottles. The hoppers below the beehives are doing double duty, they pick up the honey bottles, and they pass the bottles along to the end. If a hive gets harvested at the same moment the hopper underneath is passing a bottle along, the hopper won't pick up the bottle from the hive because it can only do one thing at once (and then has a short cooldown). You can fix this by moving the hopper chain down one block, and having hoppers between the hives and hopper chain, that feed straight down. That way the hoppers beneath the hive only ever deals with bottles from the hive above them, and are always ready for a harvest, except immediately after a harvest when they have to get rid of the bottle. Alternatively, you could make all the hoppers beneath the hives face to the front or back (not into a hopper, not straight down) so they can't get rid of the bottles at all, then run a hopper minecart underneath them to collect the bottles. Ultimately, the trick is to avoid the possibility of a hopper needing to push and pull at the same time, because it can only do one task every 8 game ticks.
"There isn't any tutorials for Auto Crafters yet as they're still not officially out." So... you have several really smart Hermits on the server. One of them even has a clock named after him. And he just happened to install an incredible Mail System in your base recently.
"I'm only going to recruit one person" --- please let it be gem... "and that person is" --pleasegempleasegempleasegempleasegem "Gem" YO! LET'S F*KN GOOOOO!
Joel's tool names keep getting progressively more unhinged and i feel like this is a perfect representation of his entire personality xD edit : live laugh love fight club
@William_Nowin :000 GO BACK AND WATCH THEM IN 1080p THIS INSTANT !! also if your looking for more tool names Joel's Empires S1 and S2 tool names are ON TOP
Honestly, Shrek 2 is one of my favorite sequels of all time (the score, the story, the VILLAIN. Gosh.), and I'm definitely gonna go see it in theaters for its 20 year re-release
Right? Absolute cinematic masterpiece and a perfect sequel for an already amazing standalone movie. We can ignore the third one. Fun fact: the fourth one was shown so little on tv when I was little that for years I thought I had dreamt it lmao
11:30 someone is going to clip scar saying "Did you grow up in the closet" and add Joel saying "I will admit that stereotype is accurate." Hermits out of context #69
Joels “uwu” really caught me off guard and traumatised me for the rest of my childhood. Edit: I wanna do a little experiment, all of you who have liked this message, appreciate it, so would you consider subscribing? I wanna see, how many subs you could get out of a top comment.
11:14 Etho is talking about Scotland, as late as 1940's, and the term is "gardyloo". It is bastardized for of "watch out for the water!" in French, ie "guardez l'eau!"
Golden rule: never poke a bunch of sleeping nerds with a fact-stick. 1) Pronunciations even funnier when you realise Ely (EEEE-lee) is a real word for a real place. You might have heard it in a station announcement... 2) The cr*p out of a window thing- totally true 500 years ago. You know how medieval houses have a "tumblehome" so the upper floors are wider than the ground floor? That put the upstairs windows over the street (where all the horses were going anyway) so anything going out of the window was less likely to hit pedestrians. As you chucked it you were supposed to shout out a warning, "Gardyloo!"- which is the sort of thing that happens when English speakers who don't know any French try to say "garde a l'eau" (beware of the water).
@@kairavpatel1392 😉 Hmm. It depends on who you're speaking with! To my grandparents if it was Offensive, it was the same/as much a swear word. And crap was def one of them as my ear got popped when I told my brother he was "buggin' the crap outta me." Apparently my grandpa was coming up stairs behind me & said your grandmother doesn't need to hear that filth when he popped my ear. Wasn't like mean or painful but certainly got my attention, & I NEVER used that word in their home again, whether I thought they were around or not. 🥴
@@jcofortcoit is considered a swear where I live, but it is also a word. The context it is given in here is the latter type and, thus, not a swear, which is probably what they meant. However, since it is considered a swear to some people, it is wise to senser it on RU-vid and not get flagged/hate comments for it. Basically, you are both right and you made the safe choice.
I watch a bunch of other hermits and almost every time they come around, they're amazed by your builds Joel. I feel you fit very well with the hermits.(build AND comedic ability) makes me so proud as a subscriber!! Very proud of you!!
The most minecrafty SMP thing is just talking to your friends while running around jumping from block to block aimlessly and I'm loving that even the Hermits do the same thing
Gems use of the Goat Horn after Joel said "I'm going to ride Tony" almost killed me, I was eating lunch and then choked after laughing but even then I couldn't stop laughing and I was crying from laughing so hard, I always thought Joel was an Etho Girl but sounds like Tony is his side piece
Elytra is an actual insect part so it does have a "proper" or at least common pronunciation, which is the way you say it Joel (wow so effortlessly cool and literate) but ofc with any language especially English theres variation in how people say things thats gonna happen
Joel you should add a custom music disc in the middle of the arena that plays crowd sounds with low block reach (talk to tango he will help in making the disc reach max 15 blocks as an example) (+add crowd with Armor stands majic call cleo)
the phrase etho is looking for is "Gardy-loo" an anglicization of "regardez vous" meaning "look out" this is why we call it a "loo" -but it hasn't been popular since the first elizabeth was in charge. during the elizabethan period, it became popular to store this kind of waste and sell it to a night soil man, although sometimes people would steal it, leading to the phrase "taking the piss" ;)
@@Peevee-xs4xqWhen you change his real name like that, do you feel bad at all? Imagine being the new kid in school and some bully changes the name your mother gave you to make you feel small-ish... Iskall knows what he's doing. Explains all the roasting, doesn't it?
@@-Spinach_Soup- Gotta be keenly observant to recognize what Iskall does. Catch Pearl's stream when Iskall tried to make Pearl feel insecure by claiming she's only joined HC this year? He was only trolling, of course. The firestorm he started on how mega builds are lifeless, an opinion he states quite often to manufacture consent, suspiciously looks like an attack. Ironic, since he's never completed a mega build himself, nor very artistic. Green with envy, that one.
@@qubit0000look if there's actual drama between the hermits it's resolved behind the scenes. If something made it into the videos that means they're all fine with it.
the scar stream featuring all the banter and morsels of etho lore was so, so good… exactly the type of interactions that are making this season so much fun
For someone who doesn't do much redstone, your honey farm design is pretty good! One quick tip for the future: in addition to normal flowers, bees can also pollinate with flowering azalea leaves. If you were to swap the flowers out for those, you wouldn't need a block underneath for flowers to grow on.
Seeing the Shrek skin near the beginning made me think I was watching an old X-Life or Crazycraft video for a second. (Also I think Shrek 2 is the best of the 4 movies.)
Shrek 2 is a fantastic film with one of the best climatic sequences in the history of cinema. It takes everything that made the first film spectacular and somehow perfectly manages to enhance it. It is a phenomenal movie and I love it dearly. Congrats on successfully comment-baiting me, Joel
I’ve been watching hermitcraft for 4 years and I think you are my favorite hermit. Gorgeous builds, great personality, cheeky banter, and awesome editing! You rule Joel! You inspire me!
I love Joel's quirky humour soo much. Man's consistently had me dying since episode 1. So apparently he's not only handsome, tall, talented, epic, [insert more good qualities that Joel *definitely* has]. He's also a comedy genius.
the dispensers spit out the honey bottles instead of them being picked up by the hoppers happens when the hopper is on cooldown from moving another bottle along the hopperline. to fix this, lower the hopperline down 1 block and place another hopper facing down under each hive
Joel I just want to say your videos help me so much, I found out today that my grandmothers cancer is getting worse (she was diagnosed only a few months ago) and she might not make it through the year. Your videos and the other hermits videos are really the only thing that brought me joy today and I just wanted to say thank you.
Re: honey bottles flinging around - put some sort of solid block above the froglights/in front of the upper hoppers! If there are any available gaps for the bottles to go into, even if it’s out a corner, they can sometimes do that. If you make sure they don’t have anywhere to go except into the hoppers under the dispensers you won’t lose bottles :)
In my experience with this interaction, once an item glitches into a block, it will travel to the top of the column so placing another block would just get the bottles more lost.
The problem is actually that the hoppers are busy transporting bottles and cannot pickup bottles when the hive drops them. He needs to change how the hopper chain works and that will fix the issue. Otherwise the bottles will just continue to glitch through the blocks no matter how many he puts around it.
@@thesaxiest4480 You're correct, but what I ment was that the hopper below the hive can't suck up a bottle of honey if a bottle is in the process of being pushed through it. Hoppers can't suck and push at the same time. I found this out when experimenting with my own honey farms.
Your area looks very post-apocalyptic to me :) like its a hand-made civilisation growing from the ruins of an old city after a zombie apocalypse, maybe you can incorporate some of that into your building. I think it'd suit really well :) love your videos!!
14:12 thats not far off, pretty sure scar accidentally revealed his age because of what age he got jellie and what age jellie died and it makes him in his mid 30s
18:55 the hoppers are on cooldown when the dispensers activate so they dont pickup the honey bottles that fly out. this can be fixed by making the current hoppers point down and putting another row of hoppers below those to collect the bottles.
I like hearing about your lunch and dinner because everyone says you’re a great cook so I think you should tell us about your cooking endeavours in timelapses
the amount of glowink you have is astounding and i think you should make a wildly over the top shop and load it *full* to overwhelming amounts... embrace the Ink
