I LOVED ABZU FIRST. I LOVED JOURNEY AND HOW DEEP IT GOES. I SKATEBOARD EVERY SINGLE DAY. SNOWBOARDING AS MUCH AS I CAN. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS TO DEATH!!!

I need this for my soul. I love Nava's and Wintory's work, and honestly seeing this trailer both excites me and fills me with relief, given struggles I'm currently facing. Thank you, Giant Squid!

I love how the music sounds like a mix between journey and the pathless! And, of course, the distinctive chorus of abzu in the beginning. Giant squid is really making all the connections in this game, and I’m so excited for it!

This year I did a project for a class programming grass to wave like an ocean just because I thought it looked so cool. This is breathtaking. Extremely excited.

Journey, ABZÛ, and The Pathless are three of my most beloved and favourite games of all time and I just know this is gonna be an absolute masterpiece like Giant Squid’s games before! I’ve played them countless times and 'Sword of the Sea' looks like it will combine things from all three. I just adore this game studio! You just need to see a frame, hear a second of the new beautiful music, watch the fluid movements, setting or the protagonist and you’ll immediately know it’s from Giant Squid. I’m such a sucker for their games, this will not only be an instant/must-buy for me, but probably also the title I’m going to buy a PS5 for (so far, I’d still been very satisfied with my PS4 - and my Switch - but daaaamn, I. Must. Have. This).

I’ve been so fed up with modern game industry that only the works of Matt Nava and Austin Wintory make me breath and engage in playing nowadays. You guys at Giant Squid are an outlet

You didn’t even need to drop a trailer. You just needed to say that it was coming and I’d have already decided to buy it.

Oh my god. I am so excited for this already. 1 second into the video I am already amazed by this piece of art.

Coming back to watch this trailer again, I would like to mention a couple things I noticed this time around: This trailer music used piano, which I simply can’t recall being used in any of Austin’s scores for the other games in this spiritual series, so that’s interesting. I like the subtle sound effects accompanying each of the titles at 0:20, nice touch. Everyone makes the Journey comparisons, but I wonder whether there are legitimate in-world connections to the world of Journey at all. Connections to Abzû seem more likely due to the sea life shown here and because The Pathless also showed strong connections to Abzû. But I am curious if any apparent connections to Journey are canonical or just inspirational. Also, I was examining the details of the character’s clothing and the engravings on the sword. I must ask: Is this game influenced by any particular culture or mythology like Abzû, or will it be more eclectic in its inspiration like The Pathless? The symbols engraved on the sword seem oddly familiar, though I cannot recall where I’ve seen them. Above all, I’m looking forward to the feel of the movement framed by beautiful visuals and whatever-the-hell kinda colossus that thing at the end was. Release day cannot come soon enough, yet I will wait however long this game needs to be a masterpiece.

The Pathless was amazing; I have been loving this continuying trend of working with improving the movement of the player. From Journey to - I hope - Sword of the Sea going from one point to another is ever so marvelous. Thanks for this experiences to the Giant Squid's team!

never in my life did I think "yeah, someone needs to make a game that combines shadow of the colossus and SSX." but here we are... with a beautiful masterpiece.

Before I played journey, I was really looking forward to playing the game, and then I had a dream in a version of the game where the character was just sliding on sand the whole game, exploring ancient temples, so this is like a dream come true!

the character design reminds me of the prototype design of the clothian from journey, a little bit, at least in the face ^^.....also shredding with a blade ^^

This is so gorgeous ! 😍💚💙💜 Giant Squid produced some of the most beautiful and touching games I have ever played and this looks like a synthesis of all the best aspect of their games. I just can't wait to play it and contemplate existence through it. I really hope they bring back the spirit realm as they did in The Pathless and the meditate feature present in Abzû that made it even more serene and transcendental. God I can't wait, this will be wonderful. My only wish is that it'll be longer than Journey and Abzû - let me get lost in this world!

I hope they have purposefully put some no clip errors in for exploration and a good speedrun else the game with bore quickly. Also gonna cross my fingers for anon multiplayer like in journey but I doubt they will. That is the magic missing in giant squid games for me to play more than one playthrough.
