Edgars, can you explain why you need IVL mode? If it is important, why isn't it the default? Unless there are multiple interfaces with the same mac address plugged into access ports in different vlans, I don't understand why IVL would be a requirement.
Enabling IVL is recommended when creating VLANs. By default, switch is not doing any VLAN filtering, so this setting is disabled by default. In practice, you can enable this only when the same MAC is present on different interfaces and VLANs, but enabling IVL will also show you the MAC/VLAN on Host table.
I assume you are talking about the VLANS vs VLAN tabs? The VLANS tab defines the vlans in use on the switch, and what ports are members of the vlan. This is independent of how the ethernet frames will be tagged/untagged. There is one entry for every vlan in use (independent of the number of ports on the switch). Cisco refers to this as the vlan database. The VLAN tab defines how frames will be sent and filtered. The Default VLAN id column defines the PVID for the port, i.e. into which vlan an untagged ethernet frame received on the port will be classified into (and normally, frames sent from this vlan on the switch will also be sent with no IEEE 802.1Q tag. This is what Cisco would call either the native vlan (on a trunk port) or an access vlan (on an access port). There is an entry for every port on the switch (independent of the number of vlans in the vlan database).
SWOS is great but I have 100 mikrotiks in my lan at work and when I started to figure out how to setup VLANs on different mikrotik routers on different switch chips it become a nightmare....
Can you make an SwOS ACL video. I have not found any good documentation with examples. I have a CSS106-5G-1S, but this should apply to any device that can run SwOS. And having a compare and contrast with ROS switch rules (also no examples in documentation for ROS) would be helpful as well.
One of desired swOS setup with configuration allowed from specific VLAN - is a puzzle. It easiest way to shoot yourself in the foot. And PPPOE with static mac over VLAN interface on ROS - I just give up on that.
