1 thing i noticed is Tameka is a PHENOMENAL mother cuz the way Ocean sat there through the whole argument and remained respectful is amazing cuz you start playin with MY mama idc who you are im jumping in it 🙄

Here's the thing. Tamika has come to a place of self-realization. She's understanding her self-worth, and Tosha and their mother can't handle it. Tamika humbled herself and apologized to Kandi publicly, and not one time did LaTocha step up and at least acknowledge her role. She sat back and allowed her sister to eat that by herself.

Rocky has BEEN the problem. Even on their unsung episode they all said that (aside from kandi and tocha just not meshing) they didn’t have any SERIOUS problems with her until she got with rocky and he became her manager.

The way Latocha reacted when Tamika said she had receipts & LaTocha could still go to jail! I died at her face & the way she looked 👀 at the momma!

Every time Rocky is on camera, it reveals his level of control. How he became her boyfriend, telling her what to say during her confessional, weaving Kandi into their narrative to justify going solo, and the hand slapping at the Nashville meeting with dollar signs in his eyes; all of it screams Geppetto. He's totally taking advantage of Tocha's low self-esteem. The day she wakes up and realizes all she's lost because of him... 😢

I think Latocha & Rocky’s issue was that everything they expected her to be, is Kandi turned out to be. It’s one thing for a group member to be more successful, but it’s an even harder pill to swallow when it’s the one that you hated. Latocha is bitter and Rocky plays on that and uses it to his advantage

As I listen to your review as I'm driving. When you talked about your relationship with your dad. I broke down me and my mom had a very toxic relationship. I know why I felt so unloved/unliked by my mother. I was a child of rape. I know her seeing me kept bringing up anger emotions in her. Tocha’s praise from her mom and Rocky is the only way she feels seen from her insecurities so she allows the mistreatment. Sometimes people’s want for acknowledgment will make them do anything, tolerate anything and discard right and wrong to get it.

Mama G indirectly admitted that Tocha and Rocky took that money by telling Tamika, “Well you don’t know what she was going through.” I hope Tamika get some counseling for her childhood trauma of not being enough.

Now that I'm older I try to validate my sister as much as I can because its bad enough she grew up feeling like my Mom treated her differently. Kandi said that by album 3 Tocha was signed to SoSo Def as a solo artist and they were giving her more leads in order to help boost the sales on her solo album. They were also leaving the girls out of sessions and only recording with LaTocha; Kandi was doing ad-libs and excluding the others girls from the sessions all together. So yea Kandi was vocal about parts but not because she was jealous.

From my personal experience, when sisters of females don’t like someone immediately, they’re usually jealous of the following: a person being more attractive than them, the person having a MORE personal relationship with their sibling (because she’s like her mammy, she’s possessive), and because they are aware that the other person is a threat at some level (talent, skill, etc).

Back in the early days of Xcape he saw insecurities in Toscha and probably thought she was gonna be the “Dina” of the group and finessed her out of her insecure drawers and got her cookie and convinced her to first have him be her man and then her manager AND SHE BEEN LOSING EVER SINCE. He thought Toscha was gon be his meal ticket and it hasn’t gon the way he thought it would. Plus he out here cheating on her too!!!! She was played period.

A lot of parents play this dynamic with their kids. I hate the overuse of the term narcissistic, but that plays a MAJOR part in a lot of these behaviors/manipulation that takes place. Narcissists often use kids as accessories, they pit people against one another and never take accountability. I pray she can heal. Sometimes you have distance yourself... even with family...ask me how I know.

It's so sad that a lot of us go through this. You do so much for your family but you still don't matter they just use you. Others can steal money or destroy their parent's credit and they are still the favorite.

Kandi also explained that previous to the third album the group went into the studio together. The third album they had LaTocha in the studio alone, and brought Kandi in afterwards to do adlibs, and background vocals, but never brought Tiny and Tamika in. Obviously she was being set to go solo.

As a big girl who formally dealt with self esteem issues she’s suffering from a lot of body image issues.Her daddy left and she always thought she was fat and here come this scammer with a pretty smile coming to take you from your previous boyfriend…that from the jump told me what I needed to know.

But Kandi is saying that Tocha already had her solo deal lined up BEFORE the 3rd album even started recording. and so they were trying to make sure Tocha got promoted heavy with the XSCAPE machine, which is why they randomly started making Tocha sing ALL the songs

I resonated with what dineva said in regard to the desire of wanting a parent approval or love, especially when other siblings are involved. U can’t undo years of a parent consciously making the choice to intentionally withhold ie: love,affection,attention ext, and ultimately yearning for that from a parent. You just have to come to peace with a parent not being the parent you needed and will never be. It’s a very hard and emotional lesson and process to go through.
