Sydney Harbour can offer an incredible mixed bag of species at times, there is always something available to fish for and then some days, like this one, there is a full buffet to choose from, whether it's Yellowtail Kingfish, Watsons Leaping Bonito, Mac Tuna, or the not so humble Yellowfin Bream.

Thanks Jeroen! Yes it’s pretty amazing to have such a great diverse fishery right in the middle of a city of 5 million people like Sydney, we are very lucky indeed!

Hi Peachy, another great video. You spoke of scent on your fly, I recently put some S Factor in my bream vest for the same reasons that you mentioned. When they are playing mind games with you it could be an asset. No probs with me. Cheers and looking forward to seeing your next video, Pete.
@PeachyFlyFishing

Thanks Peter! Yes exactly, you don’t always need it to catch them but some days you won’t get them without it. And you will always catch more fish with it than without. Once I got over the mental hurdle of using it, my attitude became “it’s fun so why not…”. :)

It was nice to meet that morning at the ramp Steve. i was waiting for the finished product and here it is. Good mixed bag mate. Went to check the Lane Cove today, the water is three time muddier than that day i met you.

Ah yes great to meet you too mate! Yeah I can imagine it’s all gone to mud again now….how did you go that day?

@@PeachyFlyFishing We did very well on some big bream around Birken head point on Zman curl tail plastics. We encountered some Watson leaping bonito around goat island that was very keen to pounce on the Zman paddle tail in greassy prawn every time the lure landed near the surface explosions.

Looks like a great day on the harbour. I agree it’s been tough fishing lately. It seems like the summer that never happened. I really like the look of that squid fly. I wonder if it might be useable on ultra light spin gear ?
@PeachyFlyFishing
@PeachyFlyFishing 2 года назад
Thanks Alf, yeah the squid fly is great but it's got no weight. Maybe if you put a ball sinker on the line you could cast it, but the best thing about them is they just hover in the water column and waft, it might not work as well if it was sinking......best option is a #9 or #10 fly rod.... ps. you can buy the squid flies from Fishing Station in Mona Vale. ;)

Nic video Steve. Are you using a Bass Pro line on your Sage with the bream? Any preferences with the scent? Terry Gleeson.
@PeachyFlyFishing
@PeachyFlyFishing 2 года назад
Thanks Terry! The bream line is the new Rio Predator line in a #7, it works really nicely on the Sage Bass 2 Bluegill. For scent on the bream I just like S Factor generally. :)

Hey mate, I've been invited to jump on a mates boat for a session in the harbour. Would a 6 weight trout set up with floating line and 8 weight with sinking line be sufficient? I've got no idea what to do once the water gets salty haha. Tight lines
@PeachyFlyFishing
@PeachyFlyFishing Год назад
Yeah a 6 and an 8 should be fine, 6 for bream and flattys and the 8 for salmon or kings. :)

Hi Neil, I live in the north west so the best ones for me for the main harbour are Burns Bay or Ermington. :)
