Go Sydney. Seems similar alstom rolling stock and automated systems are going to be used for Montreal's Reseau express metro and Paris grand Paris express

Little late but for the Grand Paris Express, this will be rolling stock by Alstom, but the automated system will be supplied by Siemens (with Thalès)

I enjoyed the front view on the Bella Vista line too. 1st time ride over the new year period. From New Zealand. Transport NSW is 100x better & cheaper than what we have over in NZ. Hopefully more of the network is finished and open next summer (December 2023).

What a terrible train. We are the laughing stock of the developed world with this clunker. Red Rattlers could have been brought back into commission on this line and been just as fast with a driver. Wher are we finally going to get the advanced trains that our country deserves. How many millions of dollars did we spend on this rubbish when the maximum speed is 100kph
@railfanworld
@railfanworld 5 лет назад
Sorry to hear that you feel that way! I think you also need to take into account the capacity of passengers that can be moved and not just the speed of moving those passengers. With that in mind, I think it is a step forward!
@ThomasNing
@ThomasNing 4 года назад
railfan_be so, why is it that the max service speed is so low? based on a ride I had myself, it seems perfectly stable. If they've been tested at 110, what's wrong about going 110? Motor inefficiencies?
@railfanworld
@railfanworld 4 года назад
@@ThomasNing I would reckon that if a timetable (with dwell times) is agreed upon, there is no benefit in accelerating and/or going faster than necessary to arrive on time at the next stop. So I would rephrase the question to "why is the timetable the way it is?", however I could not give you answer to my own question :) FYI: for this metro, there is not really a timetable, more of a frequency guarantee, but I think my point is still valid.
@ThomasNing
