I dunno, Festering Wounds applying three stacks instantly could be really handy for cursing a lot of people at once to help get those shadow dagger stacks up real high. Or just slapping them on a single person instantly to follow up with the dagger without having to wait through your AAs.
My biggest concern is her Q firing all 5 shots. You basically waste all your shots on a protected or shielded enemy and possibly give Zarya a ton of energy or get shredded by Genjis Deflect.
Well, the fire rate of them was slowed though, so you kinda like fire off all 5 charges in the span of 1,5 sec, which is quite plenty to get in range of shooting someone else. Also adds more depth to her imo.
Honestly I like most of the changes, except for withering fire. I even understand that's it's basically a dps increase because the overall cd of the 5 arrows is decreased from 10 seconds to 8, but having 5 charges and choosing when to throw them out was much better. Firstly you can better choose who to target, and secondly you could fire them significantly faster, meaning you could burst someone down much faster than you can now. The rest is really good though.
i personally think with the talent changes and how they work she'll be bursting much faster this way than how she is before the rework even without being able to choose when to use her Q
After trying her out on the live servers I can reaffirm, the changes to Q are trash. Absolutely awful and worse than I thought. It feels sluggish and you have 0 control. You have very little control over who it targets and you can't even stop it, meaning that if you cast it and Genji deflects you get a bunch of damage that you can do nothing about. I want my charges back :( I still can't think of too many situations where mind control is better than wailing arrow. The rest of the changes are pretty cool imo

I could get used to all changes but ill miss W auto spreading, it did help me when i was alone on lane, either to push or when i was pushed and to try to outlane the enemy.
Yeah I saw that damage and I was like "WAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" O.o If they don't put a cap on that, it's going to get real broken real quick. Especially in ARAM where you can just chuck and Q every time it's off cooldown and get crazy value. All I'm saying is if they don't fix that right away she's going to wreck game quick lol
@@egan605 ya I think getting 200 stacks would be about the standard which only gives you double damage and its magic damage so the reducing armour doesn't buff it
I like this approach to the recent heroes and reworks. Orphea and Sylvanas have a surprising amount of build variety. Too many tanks? Spec for it. Too much dive? Spec for it. Single target, burst, or sustain? Spec for it.
Can you do a video about Lost Vikings? They are my favorite hero to play and I feel like they don't get nearly enough love, both from Blizzard and players.
Hey notparadox, i'm worried about the removal of structure exp. I mean it might be to balance other maps except for one specific map which is Towers of Doombecause teams who can control objectives don't really gain exp or any sort of snowball there.
@13:55 shouldn't you use the W before the Q for max burst dmg. especially for the 5th border shot? technically to get the highest dmg is to time perfectly with 4 Q then W applies the -25 armour before the 5th border shot. but That will be a bit too hard to do in a real situation. So W before Q?
The reduced armor wouldn't last long enough for the 5th shot, which already has amplified damage, plus the Wailing Arrow to hit, when you start with your W. Also, after hitting all 5 shots, you also do more magic damage from all sources, this applies for your W, too, combined with the 3 auto attack stacks to hit for additional 25%, which has to be applied before.
I don't know why, but I want someone to complete the Shadow Dagger quest, fight against me in a game, just so I can scratch my head and wonder why I suddenly died in a split second. Seriously though, I think this is an interesting change to Sylvanas. She definitely lost her luster over time, making it sort of... I don't know, boring to play her? With the new trait, she'll be a little more interesting to use for actual lane pushing, at least in bursts. It might be fun to play Sylvanas as a dueling hero, similar to how you can use Malthael to duel others.
I'm surprised she still has normal bolt of the storm. She must be the last hero with bolt of the storm that wasn't given an additional effect; and they didn't take the rework opportunity to upgrade it.
I am not a Sylvanas player but i find this update interesting. Her q spamming was always such a boring mechanic and she never really fully fit into either a specialist or assassin, there were always more interesting choices for those roles IMO. They took away from her pushing accessibility and shifted towards TF effectiveness which makes her more useful now in general. I am not sure how is she gonna turn out as a pusher with the XP change, but I'd say this is a good rework. I am looking forward to finally giving her a chance.
Her burst dmg didn't change much. You can do that big burst with wind runner before the rework. Just tested it and got almost exact same numbers. Seems like they've nerfed her by making it more complicated to get the same output
This is a great rework. I get in a lot of games where sylvanas's never come to obj, don't split soak, they literally just camp in one lane and try to cheese that lanes towers. This rework encourages team fight participation, more skill, and overall less cheese. I think a lot of sylv mains will not like this rework...
From the preview that was on the HotS channel, it seemed like a flat nerf reword, need to look at the numbers to see how it is. the Q changes seem terrible though personally. Edit: After watching the video, changes look sick. Im excited.
Windrunner is still blind choice but i like what they have done with her talents because you have more options and the lvl 16 sustain like finally dude she has self sustain but its late game it should be on lvl 7 or at least 13
Idk about everyone else but I've seen a recent influx in Sylv picks in HL because of her rework. Sadly people seem to have no clue that the rework isn't even live.... I can tell they are new to her as well because they turn into mindless robots that just want to stay in one lane the entire game and never go to an obj.. Stop it.
going to throw this out there. That trait is stupid as hell : one of the squishiest Assassin in the game has to AA 3 times a target to get decent damage?! That is just stupid. I don't see how you're not forced to pick remorseless on 13 as you need the safety the increased range provides if you want ANY chance of proccing your trait. Kinda sad to see windrunner becoming the worse talent on its tier.
Dark Lady's Call (R): Targets of Mind Control have their vision drastically reduced for 5 seconds. The cooldown of Mind Control is reduced by 30 seconds.
Im just gonna say he missed something so obvious at lev7 the talent he said thats not gonna be good i cant belive he said that u can put 3 stacks on the entire team and get w quest stacks from all five like really am i the only one that noticed that?
As much as I would have prefered to see him show the damage of vs 1 target as that's how a lot of engages go early-mid, I can't help but say I too teamfight 1:1
Both Sylvanas and Stitches' talents look soooo scary, probably gonna need quite a few nerfs, however I really like both of their kits now, now they just need to delete Garrosh from the game and we're almost set.

There are some fake news in this video. Sylvanas hardly saw any play in the past entire year in the pro and the only times it did was by Mene at playoffs to blizzcon. Both times Mene picked Mind Control.
Blizzard turning all heroes into assasins and they keep wonderring why people do not pick other classes. Frist they killed the specialists soon the healers, now they fuck up the rest. This game was something intreresting, now it is all abut who has the burst. Planing and thinking goes down the drain.....
Her current lvl 20 combo with Q build + windrunner + remorseless + fury does about the same damage as the Q build in this awful clunky rework and is much more practical in fights because of the rapid fire controllable Q. She feels awful in PTR. The changes to her Q in particular make it feel like someone beat her arms bloody with a spiked bat and then hit her in the head a couple times for good measure. This is not a buff. Why make dagger build so OP? This is the opposite of making her harder to play. Dagger builds are cancer.

Not a fan of the new Shadow Dagger. I loved throwing it on a big minion wave and watching it chain its way through the lot. It was oddly pleasing to watch. Now it's just another radial AOE that requires you to also hit the target after infecting it. Meh.
Shadow Dagger doesn't spread to nearly as many targets anymore, Lifesteal at 16 doesn't regenerate any life. Even if you do keep Shadow Dagger up indefinitely. They pretty much nerfed her entirely into the ground. I would of been fine with them removing her trait if they had to. But she's so useless now. She doesn't do anything that can't be done better by someone else. I use to carry all the numbers in games outside of tanking and healing. And for those of you who think she'll be good once dagger quests stacks. Good luck trying to get there. You'll be in some 50 minute long 30 - 30 game with scrubs before her dagger quests out enough to do any serious damage.
E.g. really bad. It will never be picked. Any good tank will be out in front anyway. Why taunt a tank towards you? If you're able to taunt a squishy, they were out of position anyway.
@@alienduck2 wtf are you talking about lol you act like the tank's hitbox covers the entire lane. Obviously you wouldn't use it as dry CC, that's bad for any CC. It's got a long range so it should be pretty easy to hit someone in the back or someone running away or a pick and just anyone out of position. With a 50 sec CD it's always ready I don't see what the issue is
@@yomammasaurusrex9571 The issue is that the R projectile speed isn't fast enough to reliably land at max range unless further CC, can be blocked by anyone walking/jumping at it and requires you to hug your team to get followup= meaning if you position right to land that superb R on the enemy squishy - who for some reason doesn't jump away -, no one will be able to follow it up anyway ending up as dry CC. Wailing arrow is too much better right now...

To all the Sylvanas mains whining how this ruined Sylvanas forever: her trait duration is long enough for all major pushes, like moderate time unchecked split pushes and team-keep efforts... +her damage is higher both single target and in an area, with more mobility (will of forsaken), making her split pushes twice stronger. To all people dissing crying Sylvanas fans with the reasoning how "finally Sylv requires skill"...How does the now automatic Q and the "you have to afk AA to use W" add more skill to her playstyle? Especially given the old Sylvanas got zero results without absolute AA/dps maximization in team fights. (while this has higher skillcap if wanting to double stack enemies (hard but epic, something most won't go for anyway), for the average player and the average game to get results requires little to no brain at all. (w build. qwr combo) Longer story: -Sylv is OP now. But what after she gets nerfed to the ground? Because she has to? She's too versatile and safe for that burst as is. Will the AA playstyle end up her only viable strat? Will she end up a "follow your tank to kill enemy tanks" only ADC? Yeah... that's a real F*cking threat. The Mind Control R is unviable now, and only usable from behind your own team (no followup otherwise), removing Sylv soloplay options and ability to pick her R targets on her own. Right now she doesn't care, because her kit is so strong... but that's such a lame change and totally removes any skill required to play her =hug tank, win games, don't even try to optimize your kit. The OG mind control was super situational, sure; it was hard to position right to not die, while requiring enemy misposition to pull off... but that meant, for a good sylv to succeed it was an incredibly rewarding moment! At 20 leading to automatic wins by good support solo picks -bad for the game- but before that...one of the most fun Rs in the game. Reduced to Ahri E with no self-damaging synergy (qw cds too long). (Blizzard normally makes league Rs into HotS qwe not the other way round...(tracer-ekko, say)) Truly a slap to the face.
@Rex Maybe all you ever did with her was AA towers, but some people like to actually take her into a teamfights as a high mobility ranged assassin with her Q build. It is fast and fun. It plays sort of like Tracer, but with targeted Q burst and you have to stutter step like Valla. Her AA got buffed when they nerfed her trait a while back. She is actually a strong range dps once you get the levels. Her low popularity and bad rep have sadly made this a well kept secret. Her Q feels terrible now on the PTR. It's not fun at all. Feels like pulling teeth.
@@arirei7914 She wasnt a strong range DPS tho. Very short engage range combined with low HP and easily counterable mobility is what made her bad in team fights. People are exaggerating these Q changes way too much. All they did was remove having to hold down the button, gave it more range, and WAY more uptime.
@@laura.franke I do miss some of there talent combos but outside my selfish comfort zone she will be more engaging to play, and now i can legit fight and push not just expected to kill mercs and push xd
