Hey guys, I normally go by Paradox, there is a little bit of the story behind "NotParadox" but I may reveal that at another time. This channel was created a while back to do simple gaming videos for friends, but I started taking an analytical approach to all the games I played and made videos with my analysis. From there people seemed to like that I didn't just do a basic analysis like all the other people in that scene I looked at the psychological and philosophical side as well. From there is where this channel has gotten its theme.
I am an I-O and Cognitive Psychologist but I am also perpetually in school so that list may grow.

I know you havent made content in a hot minute, but i remember you being the guy who understood patch notes the best. They did a update yesterday and was wondering if you could explain what the Malthael change means. Soul Rip (Q) Updated to heal Malthael for its amount spread over up to 3 effects. Hoping its not a nerf saying it only heals from 3 targets. Thanks!
Always thought it was interesting that almost no one in the US pronounces mana properly. Mana is supposed to be pronounced mawnuh. On the other hand Manna is pronounced manna 👍
Alex needs to have 40 armor and also unstopable when she is in dragon form its kinda pathetic that anyone can throw her stun her or just bust her down because as a dragon she is slow and powerfull but very squishy
I know this is 6 years later and perhaps we have grown as a community, but this is a sub-optimal combo for multiple reasons. Firstly you need a talent that enables you to get your combo off reliably. That means either slow talent at lvl 1 or speed talent at lvl 4. Assuming you go speed talent at 4 you can then take energy regen after opener at 1 instead of max energy quest, as the regen works perfectly for your burst windows anyway and you dont need to do a quest for 10 minutes. The rest of the build is the same. Taking speed at 4 also gives you 2 combo points on opener. This allows you to get 2 full combo point eviscerated off in 1 opener. You open with whatever is needed, into q e. Then you q w q e. There is short delay as you wait for your lvl 1 to do its thing. But it results in alot more dmg without resource waste. If you dont want to delay just dont do last q for 2 point eviscerated, which is still more damage than this video showcases. Hope this helps some valeera beginner who stumbles across this video. What do you think about the mentals aspect of area-effect damage that gets the enemy overall just low enough that it encourages friendlies to go in instead of retreating? Same with slower area healing vs. burst heal. Basically just the morale / tactical nudge for friendlies when in solo queue zero comms. I'm not suggesting that's better than killing a single target. Or that you'd focus a 50% HP target over a 25% HP target. But in low MMR what do you think about the morale value of non-killing damage?
No way darkness descends is better usually than psionic strength, if people know how to hit a zeratul, you wont get many auto attacks out anyways. Warp skirmisher is not reliable, since you don't have escape or engage. If enemy team knows what they are doing they will killl you fast.
5:50- so you see here where that creep placement is coming in ha-(team mate dies)…handy because you can see that little extra movement spee-(two more team mates die) d let’s zag get out while the rest of her team gets smoked…😂
I have to disagree with most of the top choices.They're missing the "easy learning curve" requirement. Mei, Malth, Orphea, Cassia easy to learn heroes???? The other thing is that it's ignoring the reality of climbing the ranks in solo queue. A huge value is placed on how well they can double soak, but double soaking just isn't a thing until around Platinum. Bronze to gold, your team is either going to ARAM mid all game (meaning you can't double soak top & bot) or have someone in every lane. Any double soak value is wasted in those cases. There's also stuff like "avoid objective fights until level 7". You're never going to convince a bronze-gold team of randos to go along with all that. Some are going to show up at objective, and your choice is either joining them while your hero is still weak pre-spike or not joining, suffering a 4 man wipe, and having your team tilted at you the rest of the game.
Watching that Muradin was hilarious. Meanwhile I found out the key to playing Tank is mostly going "fuck it, we ball!" and staying in the fray at a sliver of health so long as my teammates are still alive to deal damage. I don't play Ranked, but I have seen plenty of players flinch when that Arthas at death's door decides "you're coming with me"
Crazy i found this, my dads account was paradox way back in star craft 1 days and star craft 2 and i took his account over for a bit, but i might have played a game with you one time! Because i played a game with another paradox once when i was on his account
