Matt: "Love my nids and all they can do in 8th edition" Also Matt: *constantly forgets basic rules and overall handicaps himself during the game - even whole units!*
@@shank8853 He also likes to remove his opponents models for them even if they're not closer to him and is very pushy with telling them to remove them from the table
Good batrep! Good to see tyranids again, but kronos only re rolls 1’s in the shooting phase. And the beasties only shoot twice in the shooting phase. It’d be nice just to re roll 1’s like the dark angels, but oh well. That Kronos stratagem is still pretty awesome
I know you want us to post page numbers and times, but you got so much wrong in the first twenty minutes that you really need to reread your Tyranid Codex
Yes it does. " With the exception of Stratagems, ALL RULES (e.g. ABILITIES, Warlord Traits, psychic powers etc.) that would apply in a specific phase apply to actions that are taking place ‘as if it were that phase’. However, if a Stratagem specifies that it must be used in a specific phase, then it can only be used in that phase (e.g. you cannot use a Stratagem that says ‘Use this Stratagem in the Shooting phase’ to affect a unit that is Shooting ‘as if it were the Shooting phase’)" Overwatch acts like a shooting phase but since it isn't actually he shooting phase that is why stratagems don't work.
The new space marine rules are going to make berserker blobs crazy, they get devastating charge plus all their attacks and buffs for charging that's like 6 or 7 attacks per model ap minus 2 if I'm not mistaken. And that rule is for all space marines, oh lordy
T Fex is -3 not -4 and both exo's and t 'fex's have 2 separate shooting phases so you could have saved a load of shots of the exo in your t1. Edit: Acid spray is Strength user so that would be S7 not S6 when shooting the lord Disc.
its important to glance back at your reserves table, look at those guys every once and a while, Its not hard to get fixated on the psychic phase or potential positioning of whats on the table and forget to deploy reserves.
I can’t wait till next summer when I come up to Canada from Kansas stay in the bunker for my hotel and challenge Matt to a game exciting times to look forward too.
Last time i played a game against my nephew, i started to think 40k is not fair and not fun. He set up his astra militarum in the back edge and shot up my chaos army. He tabled me in a few turns and i did not inflict one wound.
Hey, Matt, I don't know if you got it right or not, but the Exocrine shoots twice if he didn't move, which is different than doubling the number of shots. And the same applies to the T-fexes
It does indeed get to shoot twice and since the Exocrine has a flat 6 shots, doubling it is the same thing. With a T-Fex you have to roll for the number of shots with several of its weapons so you cannot simply double the shots as you can with the Exocrine.
@@propensitytoward6760 Shooting two targets 6 times and shooting one target 12 times are very different procedures, is I believe what they were meaning. You can shoot twice, but you don't havr to shoot the same target twice.
@@propensitytoward6760 Lol I'm not much better. This is the first game of Warhammer I've ever even seen. I'm just going through the comments trying to make sense of literally anything I'm looking at XD
Tyranids seem rediculously OP. Taking nearly no casaulties while having very strong psychic, very strong shooting while chaos just sits there killing 7 termagaunts a turn with a demon prince. Am i missing something here? They are just rerolling so much stuff. Always having one more save or reroll, must be very frustrating to play against as an opponent.
So lasher tendrils.. each time the bearer fights it can make six additional attacks with this weapon… A mauler is armed with a pair of Lasher tendrils, a pair means two. Doesn’t this mean that you should make 12 attacks with the tendrils? The weapon entry does say Lasher tendrils, not a pair of Lasher tendrils so it is my understanding that these two weapons are separate...Can anyone confirm or deny this for both my and the chaos player in the game’s sake
Nope, the rules just sais that they attack twice, and the FAQ specify that they "activate two times", following normal activation rules, so if they charge they got to go with both their activation before the enemy can respond (stratagems aside).
I always pop back in once in awhile to see if the quality has improved because it’d be nice to watch this channel since the personality is great, but the rules and gameplay are the lowest tier of any channel on RU-vid and I just can’t. Some mistakes are fine but you can’t honestly expect a lot of people to get excited about paying for membership if the gameplay is so bad. Oh well, sure I’ll get flamed for telling the truth but I want to like your channel, you just make it so hard.
I thought Neurothropes count as Zoanthropes. So did you want to have 5, or did you need 4+1? Or is it that the Neurothropes can't be HQ and part of the unit? A bit confused how those work.
@@miniwargaming I thought the zoanthrope unit says you can make a unit by replacing one of the three zoanthropes with a neurothrope. I need to check the codex.
Hey people in comments I'm new to warhammer and need my question answered. I currently have thousand sons and I was wondering if I could have another battalion like death guard to play with my thousand sons so I would have two different armies to make up one army. I understand that the abilities wouldn't work with eachother
Awesome models as always...but do you guys feel like too many of these games just end up being a big scrum in the middle? Very little “fire and maneuver” or going for/holding objectives. Seems like the entire “game” is just target prioritizing and rolling tons of dice.
@@adriannaranjo4397 can you point it out, i read the last general faq, and the last chaos faq, there is no mention of not being able to gain your bonus attacks gained by charging when you fight the second time.
@@Velgar_Grim Thx, but I know that. I'm aware of rules and every change in general for every faction, and wanted to know what specific rule change is that, because it makes no sense. I'm a rule judge in my area so that's why I'm interested in this statement. I've not read about that and makes me only think it's false statement. He's probably talking about World eater trait not giving that 1 free attack when he fights again, but there's no such FAQ that would make you lose it because thereäs no reason for that. Even when you fight again it's still that same subsequent Fight phase so you WILL get that additional attack.
It says that the bonus attack for charging that Berzerkers get is only applied to the first set of attacks. I am not sure if this is just a blanket rule or just for the Berzerkers. Worth looking at wording to see if it also effects stratagems.
@@rhysderwort22 Don't skip words when talking about rules, this is exact wording of that CSM chapter: "When a unit with this trait makes a successful charge, you can make one additional attack with each of its models in the subsequent Fight phase." Now tell me, how you make this to apply only to first round of fighting and not for any other? It seems to me that you get tangled by "one additional attack" and maybe think that you only get one attack. As I see it is that you get one additional attack for the duration of FIght phase.
@@rhysderwort22 In 8th, there really aren't any blanket-rules, except some army-wide rules like And They Shall Know No Fear. Otherwise they rewrote all the old universal rules each into different special pretty butterfly rules... And then even they keep talking about "this is like the Deep Strike rule of old and this is Feel No Pain for those who have played the game before"... And now when they want to fix certain type of rule, they need to go through each different incarnation of it to do it. XD
Lascannons always build the cannons then make the other guns either heavy bolters or the shiny new chain gun for infantry shredding auto cannons are nice but the heavy bolters are slightly better at killing infantry but the chain gun is also really good at it albeit at a shorter range.
Missile launchers are your jack of all trades since they can switch between frag and krak missiles if I remember right they are cheapish but not as reliable as the lascannons and heavy bolters but it really depends on what you think you'll be playing against.
Wtf is going on with those zoanthropes? How is that rule actually a rule? Edit: Sorry, I convoluted the Kronos Strategem that says your opponent can only use a single die for a psychic test. I thought this was rolled into the zoanthropes and subsequently why I was so baffled about the rule. P.S. That strategem is still horseshit.
Yeeeeah berserkers should really get a reroll to charges. They are berserkers. Is there any unit in the game more eager to get into combat? Weak sauce.
