The music video for this legendary disco track was filmed at the Embassy Club in London. It was very last minute because the record jumped up the British charts suddenly and one of the dancers whom I knew asked me if I wanted to be an extra in the club scenes part of the video. As an 18 year old college student I said yes and I have now found myself here on RU-vid 43 years later! 😂.

Awesome I wish I could go back in time and be dancing amongst these beautiful brothers and sisters. I met Sylvester after he performed at the Cat club in Philly. He had a beautiful voice. May he RIP.

Probably just about the only time a pale face appeared on the show was when the group Tower of Power was the musical guest. And to their credit I believe they were the only band to have performed live. I highly recommend looking it up on RU-vid. They sounded great, and the interview in between songs wasn't even that bad.

In my opinion, Soul Train was better than Bandstand. The intro was better( the animatedTrain), the dance floor ambiance was magical, and everyone was dressed so fabulous. Plus the Soul Train line dance was always amazing.

Queria muito que a minha cidade tivesse uma discoteca como a Soul Train, moro em Recife, no Brasil, no bairro de Boa Viagem, atrás do meu prédio tem um shopping center enorme, mas muito mal frequentado, as únicas opções de diversão aqui são boates... Mas estão fechadas devido a pandemia da covid-19. Nunca fui a nenhuma, porque não me interesso, e aqui se costuma ouvir músicas insuportáveis 🙄 Sou uma mulher trans, e sou bem conservadora aos costumes locais.
