I find that it is helpful under the symbol library to fill the comment field with a parameter. Usually manufactures part number. This can be done by putting “ = manufacturers part number” in the comment field. This will link it to that parameter in properties.

Hi Phil, very useful video as always. thanks. Do you think to keep prepare videos about DSP? a complete tutorial about filtering an IMU from scratch will be very appreciated. The noises due to Prop and Motor vibration and drag of the yaw axis problems are crucial for drones. It would be very good if you prepare a video about how to eliminate such noises and drag, which noise type to use for these situations, and PID for a real drone would be very exciting for many people. btw if you prepare a complete course about it, I can pay for it.

I always had the impression that you needed to match the schematic footprint to the actual chip, but it looks like you do not follow that and instead change the footprint so laying out the schematic is easier. I guess I can break that logic and do function over form because the PCB footprint takes care of matching the chip. I don't think you have done a potentiometer schematic item, any chance you could eventually do that in one of your next videos? I think it would be easy, maybe I can send you a screenshot via e-mail and see what your thoughts are.

The bad thing about Altium is they keep changing the user interface so that most of Altium tutorials on RU-vid are outdated.

Nice video. Being a beginner to PCB design I have questions please: For Type (Analogue (XOSC)) what should I choose in Altium as (Analogue (XOSC)) does not exist in it. Because 57th pin is at the center, but there are only top, bottom, left and right options in Altium, so what should I choose for 57th pin? Thank you

Great video as always Phil your videos made it possible to easily get a job upon graduation.I hope you realize the direct effects of your videos sir it is absolutely amazing. Also, can you please make a video on using multiple stm32 mcu’s and coprocessing such as in your HADES Flight Computer. What sort of protocol do you use USART? And what does the code look like? Do you have to come up with a protocol for this? Etc. Much appreciated

If you import the PN parameters from Digikey or other vendor (and you create the symbol and footprint as you did it using the wizard) is JLCPCB complain about it? or they just ignore and use their own parts? sorry I have never used JLCPCB

I noticed this R2040 board has added 4 vias to thermal pad. Is it better to add vias during layout of an instance R2040 footprint or is it better to add vias in the PCB footprint library? Also, vias connecting to plane typically have thermal relief which is completely opposite of the thermal pad vias because we want to spread as much heat as possible into the plane.

I have this data sheet I have to create a footprint and 3d model for a sensor but the videos I have seen so far have not been of much help since most videos are of basic chips. Hey Phil. It's me again. I wanted to ask if you'll be releasing a video showing how to import from EasyEDA. I've successfully got the schematic, but when I try to add the footprint I'm unable to figure it out. Thanks to Dominic I was able to get access to your course and I don't know if it's covered on there. Thanks Phil!
