I wish i can talk with you till i am blue in the face, not many people know about how much interesting facts there are in gemstones, it was auctioned off a couple of years ago for that amount, because of the provenance of it, imagine owning something that belonged to that Emperor, you should watch the Last Emperor, it will blow your mind.

HI Nordic Mango, yes i think it was so brave of them not to leave the palace even though they were like sitting ducks. the nails, nowadays chinese use but they try not to nail stuff at night time because its the same taboo, daytime is okay but it just goes to show how much the chinese in the past were so superstitious. i think you should look into the old "jade" more because those are mostly authentic, as opposed to new jade, but then again, you are not supposed to wear back someone else's jade but there was once i bought an old jade and it brought me luck. you need to look at the clarity, the high clink sound when you knock it against glass and the carvings on it, the more carving, the more intricate, then also do not be fooled into buying cheaper quality "decorative pieces" like the ones they sell at fengshui shops which are just purely decorative. you can find other videos on imperial jade in my channel then you can have more ideas on it.

In ancient times, jade was very costly and well beyond the means of ordinary people even if they wanted to get them they simply will not be able to afford it, even if they came into possession of it, they may even be accused of stealing it unless they were gifted by it by someone they worked for. The jewellery makers were making the jade exclusively for the Emperor and the nobility. I read about this a long time ago and it has been told amongst some chinese for generations, who bother to inform the next generation about their culture, even amongst the chinese, i can guarantee 90% will not even know this.

Hello, thank you for watching and taking an interest in jade, you can go to any Asian shops specialising in jade, its best you do so instead of going to a jewellery store that just puts a few pieces of jade there, the best places would be to buy it from Hong Kong, they have the best setting and good quality burmese jadeite. @@thepearlatelier4256 They are rare here in Australia too. I have had 4 in my life time ...all girls but this last one is a boy , very naughty and he is black and a touch grey around the tail. Beautiful and ... he knows it ! lol Lots of grooming but I like to do it .
