In this video I go over a few symptoms of a bad engine or transmission mount. These usually involve a noticeable increase in vibrations and or noise felt in the passenger compartment, a loose sensation in the engine compartment when placing vehicle into gear and or a thud that could be heard from the engine compartment or floor board when placing vehicle into gear or accelerating. I also go over a methods to help you identify the mount or mounts in question.
Note: When pushing the vehicle back and forth by hand to test for a bad roll restrictor be sure to push on a part of the vehicle that is sturdy enough to withstand being pushed without breaking. Do not push on more fragile components such as radiators etc.
Note: On longitudinally mounted engines when performing the torque test the engine will not heave front to back but side to side. The mounts responsible for limiting roll will be found on either side of the engine usually.
As mentioned in the video this is just a simple video. It only goes over a few common symptoms and methods. It is not a full comprehensive video and may or may not be 100% applicable to the vehicle you are trying to diagnose or repair. This video does not go over every scenario or situation you may encounter. Please do all the research you can pertaining to whatever vehicle you are working on.

Thanks I had this issue with my 2004 Honda Element. Symptoms were exactly how you described. I replaced it myself with OEM transmission mount. However I had to get a special long socket (7 inches) from Amazon and problem solvef.
