This question has been asked by a few youtubers that have been watching my videos, but I also get this question a lot from friends. "What were the symptoms you had before you knew you had Lymphoma, and what prompted you to go to the doctor in the first place?" ... Here is my response to this...
Here is my new e-mail just for you youtubers :)

I can't personal message you as I'm on my iPod, but I remember watching this video around 7 months ago, and I can't thank you enough for posting this. I watched this just after I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, it helped me so so much and made me realise that I'm not alone. I've come back to this video so many times over these past few months, I can't begin to explain how amazing you are. Ive just turned 17 and I have my last chemo today, I thought my past six months were hard with treatment but I couldn't imagine having radiation aswell. You're so brave it's unbelievable. Thank you so much for posting this video. You've helped me more than you realise! x

Hi! I’m Danielle and I’m 16. I was going through tests and a biopsy. I watched your video the night before I went in for the results of the biopsy. I had few to no symptoms but I did have a swollen lymph node in my neck. I have recently been diagnosed with stage 3A Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I want to thank you. This video helped me a lot with dealing with my diagnosis

Congratulations for being in remission! That's amazing! Thank you for the comment and trust me, I found a few people after too that I wish I found before on youtube! But it comes in handy now too because we can share our experiences together, and it's still hard to deal with sometimes for me so it's nice to talk to people on here who understand and have the same or similar feelings! Good luck with everything!!!

Thanks for the video. I was just diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I didn't have any symptoms, except the itching which I attested to the dry weather too. I happened to notice a nodule in my collar bone (lymph node) area that grew quite rapidly over a month's period so I brought it up with my doctor. Went through all of the tests and now I'll be starting chemo - less than a month after noticing. Crazy how things work out.

Hi Danii, i got diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma stage 2 in September 2012, at first i didnt want to watch or hear anything about Hodgkins but i wish i had of after watching your videos it would of helped me not to feel so alone. I have now got 3 more sessions of chemotherapy left and will hopefully be given the all clear after my PET scan. Thank you for creating this RU-vid account and spreading awareness, i wish i could of helped other people like you have rather than shutting myself off.

It's awesome to be able to look BACK on everything and rather than dread going to the hospital, though I get nervous for appointments.. it's exciting to go back and see all the nurses that remember me and are so interested in hearing how I am and what I'm up to now that I'm done with everything! Thank you for watching and thanks SO much for your kind words!

I want to say you’re absolutely beautiful! Your video has helped me a lot. I’ve had swollen lymph nodes in my neck for about 5 weeks now. A recent CT scan has shown those lymph nodes plus a gland in my head called the thalamus being affected. I’m being referred to a head & neck specialist for a biopsy. The things I’ve been struggling with have been exhaustion, extreme night sweats & headache. I’m not sure what to think. Thank you for spreading awareness

thank you so much for this video! I am also 21 years old and have just started this process of trying to diagnose what is going on in my body. I have a biopsy this coming march to take out one of my lymph nodes to check it for lymphoma, my nodes in my neck are swollen to 3cm. This video helped so much to understand common symptoms. When I read things online they make it seem like you must be showing ALL symptoms to have lymphoma, I actually went to the doctor for severe chest pains a few months back and thought nothing of it, just some really bad acid reflux is what they said and to go home and to this day those pains are common for me. Thank you so much for sharing your story, I feel as though watching this has helped me understand what I might face and be going through. Thank you again!!

Wow, thank you very much! I didn't expect a comment like that!! That was really sweet of you! I'm so happy I've been able to inform people about Hodgkin's and to inspire people to get into the doctor's to be on the safe side! I don't want people to excessively worry if they think "my legs are itchy" and jump to conclusions but if you notice something unusual, better to get checked out than to not.

Hi how are you now?
@widgeonslayer

I have three weeks left of chemo. Be glad when that is over and my Port is removed. The Heartburn, night sweats and the swelling on the left side of my neck and armpit were the main symptoms for me. I still kept piddling around about going to the doc, like an idiot. But we had a snowfall of about a foot. Tried to walk across the yard and I had to stop to catch my breath. I was 26. That was the point where I knew it was time. Went into the doc, she pretty well guessed it within minutes and scheduled a biopsy immediately. I was stage 4 and my left lung was full of fluid. The GP had recommended an excellent Oncologist who started me on ABVD chemo. It is quite an experience sitting in that room, hooked to the machine and looking at the people around you. I know what you mean about being the youngest in the room, I only saw one other my age. Most were at least 20 years older. Have to say I have met some wonderful people during this experience though. the Doctors and the Nurses really don't get the recognition they deserve.

8 years! WOW!!! Well I'm glad you have a positive attitude. After 8 whole years of being in remission and then relapsing, I would think that I would just want to get all the treatments over with again and kick that cancer out of there. i had stage 3 when i was 28. the best thing you can do for your aunt is to listen if she wants to talk about her experience, and to offer to help out (if possible) when she feels tired or sick to her stomach which may happen some of the time. it's a very treatable cancer and she is lucky to have family like you :)

Thank you for sharing, and for the kind words. I know it's terrifying waiting and the situation being pretty much completely out of your hands. I wouldnt say to completely ignore the bump but if the doctors are aware, then just be sure to keep an eye on its size and all that. If it doesn't go away from the antibiotics, get a second opinion. Let me know how youre appointment goes this month, if you haven't been already! Keep strong!!

Hi everyone I got diagnosed 3 weeks ago and its stage 4 I didn't have any of the symptoms and even doctors couldn't feel lymph nodes. One morning I woke up with a stomachache and diarrhea it was nothing important but the pain sharpened so then I went to a doctor. I've to say that even if you feel a tiny change in your body or metabolism connect with a doctor don't postpone your health.

Actually my doctors didn't do endless tests they just did ultrasound because I had a stomach-ache that felt like I got stabbed plus diarrhea. 'Though I had non of the symptoms'. With the test they found out that I've splenomegaly. My spleen was double size of what it should be. Maybe you should go see a doctor before its too late.

Aztec Lordu it ended up "being nothing" but "anxiety" even though it's still there and symptoms haven't changed. i got tested for lymes but that came up negative even though the test has two parts and the first usually shows a false negative. they never did the second part. so who knows. maybe when i'm dead someone will figure it out. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Im 27... I have had a lump in my neck for 6 months they thought it was a thyroid problem, did labs and ultra sounds when I first found it and they said it wasn't thyroid and my labs were normal so i ignored it, now six months later I drank 1 beer at dinner (haven't drank in about 8 months) and my neck started to hurt now about a month later my neck is very swollen at the bottom. I have been tired and my temp has been very low at 96. Blood tests were terrible, high potasium, high calcium, acidosis, and low viatamin D. Ran the test two more times and the last blood tests came back completely normal, temp is normal now too but the lump is getting bigger and I have grown a chest lump that I Xrayed and they said it's a swollen rib bone in my chest. Three weeks out from my ENT specialist visit. Tomorrow I'm getting a cat scan I pray I finally get answers.

I started my chemotherapy treatment soon after diagnosis and like you, I was told it was a common cancer from our age group but I was the only one in my therapy from this age group. When the chemotherapy begins, I found my symptoms from the disease went immediately, only to be replaced with the side effects of chemo. Anyway, I had my last treatment on 31st October 2006 and have remained in remission since. I know have yearly check ups( first every 3 months, then 6months, but now every year)

Honestly thank you so much for making videos about lymphoma - I feel like you hear so much about breast cancer but I had honestly never heard of mine before being diagnosed. The scary thing is it can literally happen to anyone - so awareness is crucial. To anyone reading this, it us better to be safe than sorry - if you suspect something is wrong with your health, it's never stupid or crazy to seek medical help x

Were the night sweats every night? I had a fever for two days a few weeks ago and I had night sweats at least 1-3 times a night but not every night. The night sweats went away but I still have a small lump in my neck. I thought maybe it was just swollen from being sick but it's been 3 weeks now and it hasn't gone away so I'm just getting a little worried.

Becca find Dr Robert Morse here on youtube he has helped lots of people get rid of their cancer naturally targeting the lymphatic system. He is an expert in the lymphatic system so even if it's not cancer getting your lymph moving is vital to health anyway :)

I rub either Now Foods Grapefruit or Lemon oil on the swollen lymph node,(Only on the swollen node because it is hot like cayenne pepper otherwise) Usually it disappears the day after. But as the other week I had to use it 2 days in a row. And I bought some lemons. We here in my home like to slice them and sprinkle with salt and eat them that way then eat the seeds after enjoying. You can eat them anyway you like. I like to also do that with grapefruits and oranges.Well that is how I clean out my swollen lymph nodes. But I have read other people add the essential oils of Lemon or Grapefruit to a carrier oil such as almond, olive or coconut oil and massage it in. I suppose it would not burn or sting that way. And lots of water to help clean out. BUT, using citrus oils on the skin can cause photosensitivity. You should not go out in the sun after using citrus oils on the skin. I put mine on in the evening when dark out and take a (soapy) shower in the morning before I go out. Today I am eating a sliced lemon with Raw Honey strudeled over it. Honey is healing.

Oh crap, they are supposed to tell you that you are in remission? No, my dr never said anything other than there is no longer any metabolic (?) activity (probably used the wrong words) My last radiation was in March. So Im calling it remission and working on getting my strength back. Im 39 so my risk of it coming back is very very high so Im working extra hard to keep it away. So happy you are doing well, you have an amazing attitude.

Ahh, I'm soo sorry you relapsed with Hodgkin's! This is why I HATE when people say Lymphoma is the "easy" cancer! Keep strong, you got through it once... you can do it again!!!! May I ask, how long had it been from your remission to them re-diagnosing you?? Also, so glad I could make you smile! That makes me happy!!!!

Yes, symptoms can be confusing because they could go unnoticed or you could have them, but they don't relate to any sort of illness. I would just say, be aware! Don't feel silly if you are concerned and want to talk to a doctor. Better to be safe than sorry!! Thanks for the comment!

go asap to see your doctor. whatever that is, the sooner you have the diagnosis, the better prognosis you'll have. i have hodgkins and it started very similar. DO NOT panic, the best solution you can get is by going to your doctor.

Well thanks for watching and for gaining a more positive attitude! NEVER give up! Your health is most important and I know sometimes we over look what we think are little things. But if you notice something abnormal is ongoing, especially for years at a time, you should get it checked out. Yes, it's terrifying having something going on inside you that you have no idea how or why you got it. And there's really nothing you can do to control it.. other than treatments. Thanks for subscribing

i have night sweats quite alot, for no reason and it is extreme, i also have major acid reflux too, can't really enjoy drinking any alcohol. without stomach pain and i also have random chest pain, believed to be from my anxiety, i also have very random itching, it has kept me up all night alot of nights, also have alot of bone/joint pain... i have melanoma stage III, it has come back recently and i have to go for major surgery (neck dissection and parotidectomy) for new years,, not my idea of new years party. I have thought myself this may be lymphoma. i told my doctor all symptoms and nothing.... i feel hopeless when i see most doctors.

hello there thank u for the video for me these type of videos were important for me more than talking with my doctors iam a non hodjkin's lymphoma survivor , this is type of cancer is easy to beat it in it's early stage , so if u or anyone have a mass diagonsed as enlarge lymph node and it didn't return to it's normal size with medications u should remove and analyse it even u were in good health and ur health and blood remarkables were perfect , don't waste ur time plz

I have -low rbc count -absolutely drenching night sweats -heart pains/chest pains -moments where I feel nauseous -im so tired I take a few naps a day and I still wake up tired -swollen lymph nodes under my armpits, back of my head, directly under my chin I'm getting more testing done Wednesday, in two days... It has my stomach in knots. My doctor has been notified of all my symptoms and has felt my lymph nodes. She seemed concerned so I got a CBC. She said I'm anemic, I have low count of red blood cells. She ordered a chest x ray and TB test for my chest pains, but they came back normal... I still get bad chest pains.

Last thing the doc told me was I had a viral infection and I was anemic. I still am very fatigued, and I have two more lymph nodes. Another one got bigger than its ever been. I still get the awful night sweats and chest pains. I think I’m going back to get a biopsy on the big one.

No one will be able to tell you the answer to that except a doctor. I know it sucks, but it's true. Only they have the tools and tests to diagnose you. So i would suggest getting to the doctor for the lump. It may just be inflammed or an infection as you said, so don't worry much... doesn't hurt to check in with the doctor though! Good luck!!

you're really likable! how are you now? i hope you're good. my lymph nodes in my neck are swollen since november now. i didn't think of anything bad but after those 2 months now, i went to my doc today. he told me about lymphoma and that it is possible that i have it, because i show some of the symptoms.. i lost 5 kgs in a time of 3 weeks for no reason, i'm tired 24/7 .. so i decided to look after lymphoma on the internet and i found you. scary fact: i'm also very itchy for some weeks now and the pain in the chest after drinking.. damn. i had this and i've never had this kind of a pain before, but i had no idea what it was and were it came from. just like you said, it was a huge huge pain but after 2 hours, it was gone. on monday, a radiologist will be checking my swollen lymph nodes .. :/

4 of my lymphnodes are swollen.they say it's too early to do a biopsy, cause they don't look too dangerous until now. but I must check them every 8 weeks at my doctors. So I think that's good isn't it?
