I'm nearly 60. Sold my drums a few yrs ago. But I have recently picked up the pad and considering getting a kit again. When I was young I thought the more drums the better. How little I know now. I think a basic 4pc has more than enough to keep me busy for a few yrs. I need this for memory and coordination as I get older. Screw doing crosswords.. Well done thanks.
I'm 69 and have been playing since 14. As I have aged, I've sold sets and bought others. I have quite a collection of drums but I'm keeping it just basic. As you have mentioned by continuing to play helps the mind/body coordination. I've played with many bands and great musicians in the past, even opening for Fleetwood Mac, Elvin Bishop, Canned Heat etc.. but now that I've aged and moved to a new state (Idaho), I no longer play with bands, which I thoroghly enjoyed. What keeps me going now is videos like this which introduces me to new concepts. Thanks for you great vids
Enjoyed #1 and this is fantastic! I have always approached the Reed book from a Jazz Swing approach, (shows my age) lol But these will really set the wheels in motion for young student (Rock) drummers!!!! Thank-you look forward to Video #3!!!!
