I found this SyneronBeauty Tanda me by elos IPL Hair Removal machine (Ref: FG70404) working perfectly except for the need for a replacement lamp. These machines (IPL = intense pulsed light) work by heating hair follicles either with intense light or combination of radio frequency to bypass darker skin. Originally it cost over $700, with the hair removal cartridge being around $110 alone, and the quartz flashlamp cartridge costing at least $150-$250 depending on number of light pulses it can handle (50,000 or 120,000)! The lamps typically have a counter or some other mechanism built in to stop them from working past a certain number of pulses for safety due to explosion risk. The strange ferrite surrounding the wires built into the PCB in the metal "can" (near the end of the video) is likely part of the radio frequency circuit but I am not sure. However, I was shocked at the complexity and sophistication in the design of the device and never would have thought that much was going on inside one of these machines!
