This is the Korg/ARP (Karp?) Odyssey reissue. I actually didn't have much experience with this synth beforehand but I quite like it. I never played an original Odyssey, but I spent a lot of time with a 2600 back in college. Though I didn't use the mark 1 filter much, that one is my favorite - it reminds me of an Oberheim SEM. These are definitely classic synths, but it may take some time to get used to the layout. I find it, much like the 2600, the layout sort of made me think differently and that's a good thing that leads to new approaches to sound design. Pour one out for Alan.

First tune was something I really liked. Im going for this one or Korg Minilogue, checking the tube videos. More I hear this one, more I like.

Soundwise the Minilogue can hardly compete with the Odyssey, imo. Which one did you get?

In the 70s the Odyssey was famous for his screaming lead sounds, cause keyboard players had often to compete with the loud punk guitars. I love it for ist sine VCO modulation, like Billy Curry plays it. If want harsh, grungy sounds, I take the MS-20.

Comp Fox The MS20 was also a sort of budget synth back in the day. High end guys either had a Moog D or an Odyssey. It wasn't until later that the MS20 started to become more valuable. :)

That's a tough one. The MS-20 is my favorite mono synth, so the easy answer is yes, I like the MS-20 better. The MS-20 has a really rhaspy and dirty filter though, so it's not always the right sound. Sometimes I want that clean punchy tone that something like this or a Moog would offer.

to keep this talk going, for good mono synth for bass the Korg Arp would be a better choice over the MS 20 Mini ?

The better choice is the one you like the sound of more. My objective opinion is that the MS-20 is a bit dirtier and more aggressive sounding than the Odyssey. Part of that is the inherent sound of the synth, part of it is how you program them. You can make bass sounds on both, but the sound you prefer is decided by your own ears. I made a video for the MS-20 on my channel, I encourage you to listen and maybe hear what I mean by having a more dirty and raspy sound.

I see what you mean by the raspy quality of the MS 20. I'd say i prefer the sound of the Arp for the cleaner but strong sounds it can produce. The reason i ask is because i'm on the fence between which to get. Think i'll go for the Arp after seeing what both can do. Both great synths in any case, and keep up the good work here ;)

Okay I don't know if you were kidding or being serious but I can't share patches from an analog synth. There are no presets or ways of saving them to share with others. Best you can do is look at the slider positions and try to match as close as possible.
