Lol, people saying he doesn't got shit on Dimebag, well did he fucking said he did? Geez, he mentions Dime and how he learned it from listening to Pantera records and you start talking shit? Seriously, chill.
Yeah but def not how dime does it not even close if you compare their tutorials and correct me if im wrong but i think the word he was looking for was sustain
You gotta have your strings loose for the sustain when you catch thr harmonic he can barely keep it going over 2-3 seconds hes fingering the harmonic #1 this does not require a pick
Eddie Van Halen was doing prototypes of these. He was the first guitarist to really take advantage of his tremolo bridge. In Death Metal it is used most often and in the best context...
@mykemztr A Floyd Rose is a tremolo system. It may be a double-locking tremolo system, but it's still a tremolo. A strat's vintage tremolo is also a tremolo system. It just doesn't have the double-locking capability, hence the out-of-tune strings after using it. They're both tremolos.
dude, that was amazing. i can almost play the solo in bat country, and i can play the one in to end the rapture. but thats it. damn hes so good. it will never stop amazing me
The reason he can hold the note for so long is because of his setup-the synister schector has special sustain pickups that come with that guitar and the different pedal setup that he has
You also have to take in the consideration that most of Syns "solos" that you are watching are written down to be played in the song. He is going by a script. Syn is an amazing freestyle solo player, but a lot of people dont know that.
whatever man... I can listen to A7X all day long and not get bored and still soil my pants when listening to syn... he is some kind of animal when it comes into playing guitar and A7X IS THE BEST FUCKING BAND EVER!!!!!!
okay, i see your point, but personally i love his playing and the band all together. i dont want to have an arguement over youtube, but i am just curious: what type of music do you listen to and what bands or artists?
Some tremolos can do dive-bombs as long as they can go both down and upwards but generally a floyd Rose is best because the strings won't break as the bridge is flush with the body
Hmm. I’m a huge Megadeth fan my whole life but I’ve never heard someone say Kirk copies Mustaines solos... like he can’t. Kirks solo are boring compare to daves and they sound very different
@thatonekidd111 This was the first syn custom model. The invaders are the original ones, not the ones with metallic pole pieces. And its a bolt on neck. AND!! There is a deathbat, look at the headstock

i have a jackson dinky and it has a licensed floyd rose on it...as long as its locked it stays intune pretty well, i guess it depends on the trem system
@Shady9696 play a harmonic (start with the easy loud ones like those above the 12th fret) and start yanking your tremolo bar. the sound from the beast and the harlot is harmonics played after each other, with a pull on the bar between them
is dive bombing bad for the guitar strings? like does it unntune it? i mean im sure it doesnt but when they whip the whammy backwards it looks like it puts too much stress on the guitar. i was thihnknig on guitar schecter FR C-1 Hellraiser so yah.. just wondering
it's a special technique in which you slightly touch the string with your finger (which finger varies depending on the person(I use my pick thumb)) while playing it so it sounds different. search: "artificial harmonic" for more details.
@tryank12 sure he is he has some of the best guitar music i have heard and i enjoy learning it and playing myself. its not how hard your song is, its the sound that matters in my view. this was about 4 years ago and he was really nervous looking so is alot better in front a crowd now
@iorost Yeah, they're tricky if you don't know how... One thing that would help (and I didn't know this the first time I did it), it's a LOT easier to change the strings if you do them one at a time (don't take all the strings off then put them back on, cos you have to hold down the whammy bar while you put each string on, bit tricky lol). Just take one string off then replace it, next one, etc...
@BL00D4NG31 Sustain is how long the note is held, for example, "that note was 'sustained' for like 20 seconds" would be the same thing as saying "that note was 'held' for like 20 seconds" Theres different kinds of distortion like heavy metal, wah, etc. Same thing as saying FX or effects. Anything else you need to know just message me or reply to this.
man! those dimebuckers must really help when doing those kinds of things. I HAVE A QUESTION EVERYBODY!!! i tried to play a guitar with a floid rose tremelo the other day and no matter what i did it did NOT stay in tune. (It was around $300) Do all floid rose tremelos make it impossible to stay in tune? cuz my guitar teacher said they do.
@iorost No, if u know how.u need to have the floyd allways up and change tone or strings.First 2 times ihave change strings it puts me crazy but now its very easy. And floyd is really better than tremolo.
@thedarthvitor you should hear some solos off nightmare; such as 'so far away,' 'victim,' and 'danger line.' IMO there is a lot of feeling put into those solos, but if you still disagree i would like to hear the stuff you listen to :D
Its not that he forgot it, he was just trying to get a chop down. It's not easy to pull any part of any song from thin air without playing it from the top.
He isn't using his thumb to press the frets. Since you weren't listening, he's using his thumb to prevent other strings from sounding. It's how most people play divebombs.
@psyboyboy Do you know how hard it is to actually sweep pick and play as fast as he does? I don't think he's masking any mistakes at all, you can quite clearly hear him make string noise dude
Haha I learned how to do it from Dimebag too. RIP Dime, we all know you, Cliff, Jimi, The Rev, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and many others are up there kickin some ass right now
i bought the white and black with sustainiac for about 14and change got number 29 of 50 i dont have a job i just turned 15 and i had money i was saving since i was 12 around 2700 to be specific, but getting a sustainiac is risky if you love playing riffs, you only get the high tone from the bridge pickup so make sure you try out the guitar before you buy it ;)
