100% agree, be interesting to see if Cam upgrades to the Easy Control thermostat from Worcester when his extension is done! Did you know , when paired with the Worcester Easy Controller this boiler sees an increase in efficiency of up to 4%!!!
WOW 35kw! Did anyone do a heat loss calculation for that property? I bet the heatloss would be less then 10kw asuming double glazing, cavity wall insulation, loft insulation ect. What does that boiler modulate down to? Was it even set up to modulate? Weather compensation controls from worcester wasn't installed so i guess not! That boiler is going to constantly cycle wasting gas. Whats his hot water demand? Unless he wants to run a bath and shower from a bar mixer and fill the sink up at the same time.. 35kw is way way over OVER SIZED!
Luckily for us, cameron is no stranger to home renovation so already had an idea of the heat loss through his property and was kind enough to share that information with us. Worcester 8000 has a modulation ratio of 1:10 and can be range rated to suit the demand of the property. When the extension is complete, the hot water demand in the property will be a sizeable load so the customer requested a large output boiler to account for this.
