@@chaos_engineer that is a fantastic way of putting it 😂 getting all the hate even if it’s the tank or dps (singer / guitarist) that runs in stupidly haha
1000% That's how you can recognize a legendary singer. He doesn't even need a band to support him. Yet he found 3 incredibly talented allies. The perfect storm.
I found myself listening to the whole thing too. My mind kind of just filled in the rest and I “sang” along in my head. Interesting listening experience
another of the songs that anyone will know is smells like teen spirit and as infamous as that song got among nirvana fans the drum opening is super recognizable
@@oreo1933 There's also a whisper in Needles, when Daron starts singing "I'm sitting in my room with a needle in my hand", Serj is whispering underneath it.
You realise Johns talent when you listen to the drums on their own. Those rolls sound like a guitar on its own. It’s truely amazing how much he fills the song alone. As for Serj, well no explanation needed at all, he’s truely amazing
I've listened to so much SOAD in my lifetime and have learned all of their songs by heart on the guitar that this is actually an AWESOME way to play-along with a song without having the actual guitar track in the background.
I was expecting something terrible, but this is amazing... Shows how good of a song Toxicity is. Also, here you can spot things you never hear in the full version.
I'm more shocked by the comments not noticing how strong the drums and vocals are in S.O.A.D songs! They was the 2 things that always made me love them as a kid.
This is so cool! It's crazy how much a well written drum part can carry the whole song perfectly. It'd be interesting to see what people who haven't yet heard the original song imagine it be like just listening to this.
Эта рекомендация от ютуба была мне прям как вызов. Лет 10 не играл эту песню, но думаю, что вспомню ее без проблем сходу. Но сейчас почти час ночи. Пришлось играть виртуально в голове.
toxicity, though very popular, is probably one of my favorite system songs. sad statue is a good one too and is definitely up there, but toxicity? its a classic. top tier.
It's a great song .. you don't gotta play fast to be great drummer.. he's not playing at like the fullest speed but it doesn't matter cause if it's musically appealing to the ear it doesn't matter what it is... if people can hear every beat and aren't being overwhelmed by what's going on.. it's better.. cause they understand it
Why robbed? Serj still releases music solo and in collaboration with other artists so you can still hear his voice. Also SOAD has never officially broken up so who knows what they will do in the future.
@@leinonibishop9480 not anywhere near as good as anything that can be with SOAD. It's a magic of combination. On their own, they are mediocre. There's a different compliment when it is done within SOAD.
I didn't expect this to be as interesting as it is. I'm not a big fan of this song, but it's pretty cool how much of the drama is still there in the hook.
If I heard the chorus like it sounds in this video in the background while I'm doing something else, I would never even notice there's anything missing.
around 1:10 and onward you can BARELY tell there's something missing, it's insane just how good John is on the drums and ofc Serj's out of this world voice
i just want to know how do people isolate stuff like this? the people that do know post only the singles on youtube, but when its literally any other song, it's either not their or it sucks, so if you can give me any tips, i would truly appreciate it.
Well, I usually think it comes from people that was in the studio, or like close friends that have permission to use their material, but its pretty rare to come across, since demos are usually rare as well
A few times Daron mentioned how the SOAD songwriting process often starts with the drumline and then they build everything else on top of it. If I had to guess, this is probably one of those songs where that's the case.
Через секунд 20 ты уже не напрягаешься, что нет баса и гитары - они звучат в голове - а на отрезке в 1 минуту вообще забываешь что слушаешь версию без баса и гитары
Honestly, I'd still listen to this without the bass or guitar. Drums really fulfil the lack of them and Serj's voice going from slow, fast, high, and low is a perfect fit.
