@@papapara2916 em... I mean it's strange to have North-West Asian, and North-East European group in southern Europe. I mean if Magyars would be like avars or mongols they would disapear. And this land would be Slovak, Croatian, German or Romanian.
Fun fact: this song was banned by both the fascist Arrow Cross regime because it was written by a Jew and also by the communists for obvious reasons. It was also only allowed to be played in interwar Romania with changed lyrics after it became too popular amongst the Hungarians of Transylvania. The word Magyarország (meaning Hungary) had to be replaced by Meseország (fairy tale country). Obviously, it did not matter much as everyone at the time knew what this song was about.
Hungarians have always been treated as any other citizen in Romania in post-war Romania, Communist Romania and today's Romania - unlike Romanians in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, where the Hungarian Prime Ministers attempted time and time again to magyarise the Romanian majority in Transylvania.
@@caranaar thats the problem tho, citizens of a minority culture have to have the needs of their minority culture be fulfilled instead of having the majority culture forced upon them. the fact that hungarians lost alot of their cultural rights (probably the most important one being the hungarian autonomous region) after the 1960s and only regained them towards the end of the communist regime means that alot of hungarians in romania are still pissed. + the cultural/national dicothomy; most hungarians in romania feel that it is strange that the people of a culture that has existed in the area for the last 1000 years do not have autonomy just because they aren't they aren't a huge portion of the nation as a whole. this would be the same problem with the saxons if the communist government didn't expel them en masse.

These were the people that for a thousand years have treated us as subhumans. We gave these people the same rights as us, they have a party in parliament that has been part of every government of Romania since the 1990s, and they enjoy the right to practice and teach their own culture and language in school, at home and in public. What gives? We've been more than nice to people who go on RU-vid to shit on our nation and our nationality. This is how we're repaid.

Love these Hungarian songs, but as a native Hungarian, I can tell that the translations are very very poor, just like many times before with Hungarian songs.

The turks destroyed much of the hungarian population in the 15th century so the hungarians were forced to bring refugees from the surrounding countries in. Thats why the old borders were destroyed after the first word war because at this time. There were already large minorities of slovaks, romanians and so on. I think this is a sad story…
