Fun fact: Todd Field played Nick Nightingale (the piano player) in Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut. And Cate Blanchett played the masked woman's voice in Eyes Wide Shut.

Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in giving a standing ovation to the incomparable Cate Blanchett for her intense and passionate acting in Tar. She has delivered a masterful performance that captures the essence of the poet's life, love and legacy. She has embodied the role with grace, courage and authenticity, bringing to life the complex emotions and struggles of a creative genius. She has mesmerized us with her expressive voice, her captivating eyes and her subtle gestures. She has not only portrayed the poet, but also honored her spirit and legacy. Cate Blanchett, you are a treasure!

I watched this movie earlier this week & it is quite the experience. The character Lydia Tár is so fascinating to watch because she isn’t always an enjoyable presence. She has her issues and tries desperately to cover them.
@LowkeyGeek

100% agree and glad you enjoyed the movie. Her character is definitely quite an interesting one and a good study on how somebody tries soo hard to control her own narrative to only lose it and how she realizes all her faults when it's too late.

She changed her name “Linda,” pretty, tender, to “Lydia,” noble one. Her unenjoyable presence seems to stem from her lack of ability to control her vulnerability, particularly sexually. Well done film save, for me, the very end.

Nina’s eyes and look played the script themselves in her role as Sharon Goodnow.

Lydia Tar a victim of woke culture. great movie great acting
@sallyfagangreenberg3747
@sallyfagangreenberg3747 Год назад
A victim? Seems as if she had a lot of problems in the way she conducted her professional life. How can one respect a conductor who plays favorites? Who seduces some and ignores others? Who hints at blackmail if an orchestra member cannot be set aside as she desires and may have wishes of his own?
@sallyfagangreenberg3747
@sallyfagangreenberg3747 Год назад
So easy to put all action and people into categories--as if one size fit all. A complicated issue? Just put it in the "woke culture" category. And what does that "woke culture" mean? Who knows but it's so popular to say that it must say something, right?
