Shanahan's play calling to start the first 3 possessions of the 3rd quarter was the worst play calling I've seen. Shanahan is a garbage play caller. He has no clock management skills.

I'm a Niners fan, what frustrates me the most is the running game. You have a power back in Jordan Mason and in the Superbowl you never use him. You have the ability to run all day if you split the responsibility. with CMC. Mason is way better than Mitchell which got maybe 2 touches in the game.

The ref explained the rules before the coin toss in OT. The 9ers weren't even paying attention. They were completely caught off guard.

Shanahon always has to get cute. He can never do simple things. In the last three SB he could have run the ball & win but he has to go to air for some reason. Even the Tony Romo was shouting that the Chiefs defense are tired so why not run through them. I believe Shanahon is insane because he keeps doing the same things over & over & over again & expects different results. If I owned the team I would have fired him after he lost the first SB to the Chiefs.

the reason they took the ball 1st. in OT was because their defense was gassed from the last series and 2 of their db's went down on that last series also.

One positive in this game for San Fran was Brock playing great and trying to accomplish shanahans game plan. In my opinion, he highlighted that he’s capable but the head coach has been the issue when they lose. He been extremely accountable and now there’s no one shanahan can throw under the bus. Like he often does

They played soft as hell in OT giving up them big yardage plays to mahomes, kelce etc. I know everyone noticed that too.

I'm a lifelong Chiefs fan and still can't believe we won this game. Honestly, it's almost confusing. We got our asses KICKED in the 1st half and our backup LG shredded his UCL in the 2nd quarter. The only thing I know to say is that the 4th Lombardi trophy sure looks nice!

There were some "wow that was bad" moments in that super bowl for SF. The team not knowing the new OT rules meaning they weren't completely prepared, Chris Jones coming at Purdy on 3rd and 4 completely unblocked along with another rusher on the 49ers final offensive play (meaning the Oline on that right side wasn't good and there was an immediate drop-off after Feliciano went out), the muffed punt which KC scored almost immediately on the drive after and Dre Greenlaw getting an absolute freak injury entering the field leaving nobody good to step up and help cover Kelce.

Pats fan here. (Thanks to for Shanahan giving us the 28-3 game. He kept throwing as if the Falcons were behind.) Was rooting for 49’ers. I watched this game and want to know the game plan. Give the ball to McCaffery and nothing else? Where was Aiyuk and Kittle?

I'm for Brock Purdy. The 49ers need to fix the Offensive Line to protect him. Fix the Defense and secondary and they might make it to the Super Bowl again and possibly win it.

I like Pat Mahomes but people are overlooking the fact that the Chiefs defense allowed the 2nd fewest points in the league. Mahomes didn't have a number 1 receiver but he also wasn't lighting up the scoreboard either. The Chiefs defense is a big reason they stayed competitive this year.

It was not the coaching staff that fumbled away points in the red-zone on the 49ers first drive. It was also not the coaches who missed a huge extra point or fumbled a crucial punt return away either was it? It was player mistakes that cost the 49ers a razor thin OT loss in the SB to be fair. The coaching staff put them in a position to win the title.

I think too many people are hyping up the run lol. Running the ball was not going to win the game lol. KC was containing the run. That wouldn't have won down the stretch. Truth is 49ers need a legit qb.

It always amazes me how it's never the players fault. Did or did not the O-line screw up on NOT blocking a D-line in OT? He did. Period. So no TD and a FG. Then the defense could hold the Chiefs. Always the coaches.

Yeah, I thought the 49ers were going to beat the Chiefs, but then again, I thought the Lions were going to beat the 49ers. Interesting that both the 49ers and the Ravens stopped running the ball. It is interesting that many of the 49er players didn't know the rules of the OT - that is on the coach, so maybe, just maybe, T.J. is spot on - the coach didn't know. As far as grading QBs of today with the QBs when it was legal to pile drive the QBs into the ground, simply not the same. Players should be compared with other players in the SAME era.

Kyle Shanahan is the Doc Rivers of the NFL and the person who doesn't get enough credit is Steve Spagnola he called a hell of a game

Shanahan has coaching lapses in 3rd Qtrs of SB play. He lacks his Dad's killer instinct prowess. You got your Terrell Davis in CMC. You got the best blocking TE and the baddest LT. Use the run to set up the pass. The run takes the edge off their pass rush. They are vulnerable to the pass when they crowd the line.

It's stuff like this that really makes me question WTF is going on in the NFL. You had the Ravens, the league's most dominant running team with a game breaking running QB refuse to run the ball in any form for the majority of the game against a team (the Chiefs) that aren't particularly good at defending the run and instead went with their mediocre passing game against an excellent pass defense. Then the 49ers do the same thing despite actually running the ball and having success. Why? Are teams out here trying to show the Chiefs they can do what the Chiefs do?

Throwing the ball in FG range on 3rd &4 right after the 2 min warning was egregious. CMC your best player you can't convince he couldn't have gotten positive yardage for a 4th & manageable or even ran 4 yds for the 1st down to seal a game winning FG

If this was a situation where an independent GM is putting these all pro rosters together for Kyle and he’s coming up short they could fire him. Kyle is why this team is relevant. He is the architect of this thing. He went out and got Lynch and together they built this roster. It’s Kyle’s scheme offensively and defensively. Now we can say Kyle is a choke artist but if they fire him tomorrow unless they plan on bringing in Mike McDaniel or Andy Reid they’re getting bounced in the first round next year.

Management better decide quick what to do because if Jed York and John Lynch want to win Super Bowls it’s not going to be with Kyle Shanahan as coach. They need a change because Kyle had this game but he blew it by not running the football. His coaching mistakes cost the 49ers another Super Bowl. If Kyle is still coaching the 49ers next year I won’t be watching until he is fired.

I never watched this show before, but the Tj guy is 100 percent right about Kyle. As a niners fan I used to support Kyle but not anymore. Niners need a new head coach with guts and Kyle isn't it. The sooner Kyle is gone the better.

I disagree on Wilkes. The defense stepped up in this game. They lost this game because of special teams and offensive coaching. Once they didn't score a TD in overtime, no one was going to stop Patrick Mahomes from winning this game. They changed the defense, and they still got a first down. Cover 0 never cost them a big play and they were getting burned the last two drives whether they blitz, played zone or played off.

Of course the niners gave the game away. They gave the game away against the Packers and Lions and both teams didnt take advantage of it. This time around they werent so lucky.

Bruh. Why did the team call that oline coverage on a man coverage call by the Chiefs. They called a pop out slide to the left rather than keeping it basic and staying static. The right guard passed Chris Jones off to the right tackle who has helping on the end. WTF!!! They didn’t need a touchdown there. Getting the first down priority #1

There were bad coaching decisions by Shannahan. But you have to take anything TJ Hoosh says with a grain of salt because he’s a notorious Chiefs hater. MCathery touched the ball 31 times. So 8 more carries would’ve made a difference? I don’t think so

The funny thing is the zero blitz worked, Warner was gonna sack mahomes before he could dump it off to rice but the RB literally tackled him and the refs (who called a holding call to win the chiefs a sb ) decided to swallow their whistles

Easy to blame Shanahan for the loss, but what really cost the Niners the game was the botched punt return hitting Luter's foot and then Ray-Ray McCloud not falling on the ball - an easy 7 for KC after that. Purdy is an average QB who overthrew a couple open TD passes. Chiefs had figured out the SF run offense in 2nd half, so it wasn't effective as in the 1st half. SF also self sabotaged themselves with all their penalties. The better team won. SF needs to find a superstar QB because an average one will never beat Mahomes.

Against a team that has an offense like KC, you want to keep them on the sideline as much as possible. It's common knowledge - run the ball.

TJ just broke down the game so well. And one would wonder are Niners that stupid? They wont win any SB under their head coach because he is incapable of making half time adjustments.

I’m not sure about conditioning but it seems the 49ers, like so many other teams get fatigued and don’t play the last quarter with nearly the same energy as they start.The exception to that seems to be the Chiefs and there has to be a reason for that🏈🏈🏈🏈
