Every trebuchet is a catapult but not every catapult is a trebuchet. People calling a trebuchet a catapult are still technically correct. It's all semantics.
@@ha-mz3ouI mean it’s not a mod, it’s a fun little indie game that was about sudden weirdness and game manipulation, a thing jolly has mentioned scares him.
This hits close to home lol. I was kinda scared of Gmod when I was a kid. It's super lonely and things can wig out at any given moment. The ERROR signs themselves were like jumpscares to me. Pretty dumb but true lmao
Was really hoping this would take a turn with the player being able to do literally anything and just attaching speed 3000 thrusters to whatever strange entities threatened them.
In the post-realizing-that-creepypastas-especially-video-game-creepypastas-are-dumb internet, there's definitely an unfilled niche for dedicated pisstakes of the genre. Ghost possesses vidya game -> player gets spooped by vidya ghost -> player realizes that ghost is trapped in the vidya game -> player uses vidya hacks to bully the vidya ghost. If the SCP wiki hadn't completely trooned out several years ago, I'd write a scip about a piece of anomalous antivirus software that blocks programs possessed by ghosts.
@@RabbiHerschel Yeah, it's a shame that the SCP became what it is today. It moved away from what made the site special, at least for me. Especially with shit like GAW which just seems like thinly veiled Discord vents formatted into SCP articles made by sad teenagers with 1st world social issues. Have you heard of RPC? I've just been a passive observer to their work but from what it seems they're recreating SCP's series 1/2 era of articles, minus any lolfoundation shenanigans of course.
What I love about tmod is that even outside of the horror, the limited tools they give you are still fun to play with. The grapple tool gives you some really fun options, like attaching things to each other with elastic physics or just swinging around, it's like what if Gmod was EXCLUSIVELY about aimlessly messing around with the funny physics
if i had a nickel for everytime a game with a somewhat low polycount and texture warping recreated GM Construct i'd have 2 nickels... which isnt alot but its wierd its happened twice.
yeah that got me immensely tense for the rest of the video. i suppose i should've expected it for this one, but god i hate when a seemingly innocuous game starts throwing out jumpscares
"its a trebuchet" on the one hand im very impressed jolly borh understands the word and used it successfully. on the other that is not a trebuchet; its just a catapult
@@kerbalball0052 are you unaware of the haunted ps1 demo disc game jam? it isn't actually a ps1 port, it's all recreations of what ps1 games felt like. if you don't like that, you don't have to watch anything or see anything about it.
The problem with these sorts of projects is that they are mostly very short. It is a bit of a saddening fact to be honest. Like at least a few good ideas and proper horror can stretch this sort of thing for 2 hours and be really good.
i really disagree. this is a gimmick game that gives you the idea then gives you a spook then allows you to move on, having experienced all of it. if it were longer, it would have overstayed its welcome.
@@Khunkurisu If you just go directly through the path to the demo's end it's like no time at all, the sandbox nature means you can take as long as you want so it varies more widely. I've been excited to see the full release because I ended up enjoying messing around
Jollys videos are like a video on 50/50 its either something were he dies and gets frustrated or its a video that starts normal but then goes into creppy pasta territory real fast
On the other hand, Gmod makes for some fantastic ambient horror. Many source engine maps just have that incredibly uncanny feeling to them, as if they should be full of life but just aren't. Some of the best atmospheric horror I know, especially with liminal maps, are made in Gmod or other source games. I can recommend "The Librarian" for that kind of stuff, he plays it in VR, which adds a whole other layer of spooky to it.
@@dominikdoom exactly. I’m assuming that’s due to the engine being made for half life first which, as you probably know, can be an unsettling, eerie game at specific times.
its called tmod because, if you fold the alphabet in on itself in a way that A matches with Z and B matches with Y and so on.... G matches with T. So TMod is the flipped and corrupted version of GMod. So that's pretty cool
For those wondering if that would be actualy possible, there is a guy on youtube remaking Portal for Nintendo 64 and yes he did run on the actual console, it has the portals and he is now working on the level 02. So why not garrys mod on ps1, actualy i like the idea of making this kind of thing for old consoles just for fun
as Someone who was but probably still afraid of Missing texture bugs and stuff like that in Gmod. This perfectly hits every fight or flight mode in my body
I’m referencing this video but it could be richter be a jokester if so I am deeply sorry ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uA4RjMEG-54.html )
I actually had it. Game had a lock on feature that changed what it did based by difficulty, a cool main menu theme, and the before mentioned half life decay. It comes standard with the HD models.
@@cardboardb0x851 I hope I didn't come off mean, I was just trying to help :) Intention doesn't come off well in text form. I don't think anyone expects you to know what was in a weird port from 20 years ago, lol
It's a common mistake but that's actually a catapult, not a trebuchet. You can tell if you look closely, you'll see that it is in fact catapult shaped whereas trebuchets look different.
Lmao I found this to be funny because I expected a technical breakdown of the differences, such as the mechanics behind a trebuchet using weight, leverage and centrifugal force to fling projectiles whereas a catapult uses tension or torsion in some form. Instead you hit me with they look different and that made my day.
Confused me for a second because I forgot I watched this live and not as an edited video, I remember the Demo Disk collection day fondly. Including that MMO one (which won't make it to video lol)
