Hey guys he DIDNT USE AUTO TUNE on his first album, but his second one which had a lot blew up and he got told overwhelming that he was nothing without it. He has been fighting since the 90’s to be allowed to sing like this. It’s a huge moment for him. Something to enjoy and celebrate.

Here in 2022 for the first time. I missed it 6yrs ago but I'm glad to have gotten caught up. Came here after the original tiny desk he did. Auto tune is a pitch correction tool..he just used it for his style..weird enough...you have to be able to sing/know how to hold a note for it to even work the way he uses it.

What people don't understand is that there are different ways you can use autotune. He wasn't using it as a crutch, but rather as a vocal effect he thought well suited his voice. Back when he started doing it, he did it to be unique as back then, not many people were using autotune like that.
