So, I finally got my Pima Cotton, and I absolutely LOVE the color and texture. I swatched and cast on for my sleeve last night. I'm excited to spend the weekend getting some headway on this (Until my longer circs are delivered on Saturday)! I can totally see myself knitting another one of these, or that other sweater with the cables, over the summer! This yarn is soooo soft! Thanks GGs!!!

Thank you so much for this! This is the first time I have been able to knit something nice for myself that didn't turn out wonky.

Great tutorial! I think you could either single crochet around the neck or use the chain stitch as demonstrated in the video. Your T’s look amazing😊

I am confused. As I come to the end of the Chevron Side Panel and complete Row 23 and Row 24 I have just 3 stitches remaining . (One on each side and the final one of the decrease). This seems consistent with starting the 24 row decrease with 13 stitches on each side. But then the pattern reads Final Row (RS): Sl1 purlwise wyib, p1,sl1 knitwise wyib, psso (sts rem in total) . This seems to indicate that I should have 5 stitches rather than 3. ????

Love you guys, always learn something. Maybe my computer, but the sound on these episodes always sound weird. Just mentioning, not complaining. Never want to miss a one.

Any special instructions on blocking this yarn? Currently knitting with half cotton half linen. Would that be dealt with the same way? Thnx for the great info!!

i got gauge and made my size. it just didn't fit right-too short and not quite right across the chest-too tight under my arms. i recommend going up a size

There has to be a better way than using Fray Check. It makes make hard clumps of the yarn which can fell scratchy against the skin.

Trish Vidal I wondered about that too. I also wondered if it washes out. I' ve heard some knitters actually tack the ends down with needle and thread. I'm going to try that with my knit dishcloths.
@TrishVidal
@TrishVidal 6 лет назад
It does not wash out. I made the mistake of using it in a blanket project in a few places, and three years later, you can still feel the hard clump. It's at the edge, so it's not troublesome for a blanket, but I would not want to feel that against my torso. It would drive me nuts.

Help....I have tried to get the two sides together for several hours and can't quite get it. Your video is clear about knitting the first row, turning it back, knitting 14, and attaching. But when you turn to the pearl row, do you attach the beginning of the row or just the far end? And if the beginning, how can you pearl the stitch on the right needle? So it seems you pass at the end of the pearl row...Help...it's just not clear if I connect both ends of the knitting and pearl rows at each end or only the last stitch of each row. Make sense???

I just finished my top! Yeah!. Mikki F, you pick up a stitch at the end of each row. Knit on the odd rows and purl on the even rows. Each row you move up one stitch on one side and then on the next row you move up another stitch on the other side. Count both sides to see if you have the same number on each side. I didn't, so I would knit 2 on the end of a row instead of one to decrease the side with the extra stitches. I had 14 extra! I counted the number to the same spot at the underarm. From the end of the sleeve and from the bottom. That way I could spread the extra stitches out where they needed to be and could decrease them more evenly. I also had extra stitches at the end so I just kept doing the cd until I was down to 3 stitches and ran my yarn through them and fastened off. Hope this helps.

Went to Instagram to see all of the T's but there are just a very small handful. Is it because it's to difficult? Can't figure it out.

Problem I had was finding DK weight cotton yarn. Since ROW gauge is critical for this pattern I didn’t feel confident enough to deal with different weight of yarn AND gauge.

Not to be to picky, but at when finishing the neckline, you say that you can single crochet around the neck. When you show that part in the video, you are actually doing a slip stitch not a single crochet. I'm not sure what it says in the pattern to do, because I have not done this knit along. But, you might want to check to see if the wording in the pattern is correct and matches what you say and then do in this video. It might be a little confusing for some if they are true knitters and do not work with crocheting stitches at all. Just a little heads up! Love watching you both! GO GROCERY GIRLS!!!

Yes, I noticed the slip stitch as well. I wondered did they mean to do a slip stitch or a single crochet.
@keilexandra
@keilexandra 6 лет назад
I came here to comment about the slip stitches, too. I do think that slip stitches are the right thing to use - single crochet would add more bulk and stand out, plus slip stitches are sturdier/less horizontally stretchy for the purpose of edge reinforcement.
@Brauelle
@Brauelle 6 лет назад
Well I have the pattern now, and the pattern states single crochet around neckline. But I think it should be slip stitch as well. Hopefully one of the grocery girls or the author of the pattern will see this comment thread and make a decision and let us know.

It definitely is the slip stitch in American terminology but it’s also a single crochet in English terminology.
@diannaskillen845

We call that a single crochet in Australia.
