I don't mind the story being centered on Walnut for a little bit. This is her arc, they went to a place that has specific meaning for her character so I think it's clear that Jerry's intentionally focusing on her a little more for now, and I'm down with that. The other characters will have their time. I do, however, wish Amy would not try to run the table so much. Kris made a good point "How's your persuade? You good at that?" as a kind of way to say "Hey, let's talk a little about this as a group and see what might be the best idea here, instead of Walnut trying and failing to do three things in a row while everyone else stands nearby. But that might just be that Amy, as a player, is more aggressive in taking actions and always thinking about what to do next. Maybe the other players don't mind that so much and are okay doing their thing their own way.
Damn, Davine's betrayal plan was so awesome, I wish she'd gotten to execute more of it. I would have loved to see her pick apart the party one by one. Hopefully Jerry does it justice in the next episode.
Devine did an amazing job neat the end, but it had to be difficult to try and enter the grand story without really knowing all these people personally and it all being streamed live.

mrDROCK davine was more rp than a staple character. And it's sad that a donator non-regular is better at keeping player knowledge separate from character knowledge than someone who is supposed payed to be there .
I'm upset that k'thriss died because of lack of control on the rules. He had to make a save for both of those moonbeam hits and saving on either one he wouldn't have died and he wouldn't killed her off first. Sometimes for small things a relaxed rule set can be nice and make things more exciting or cool, but for certain things especially combat and how Spells work or attacks, rules matter.

Gosh, several characters did virtually nothing this session, which would drive me crazy if I was the DM. I'll give credit to Jerry and the gang for being cool with that, but me? I'd feel like I wasted my time. This is such an interesting show, can't wait to see where it all goes, and the guest was amazing in the end.

I enjoy the series but it's too repetitive/predictable Someone needs to be in the Spotlight- Amy Someone needs to get shit on- Kris Seriously though K'thriss has been screwed over repetitively. It's almost to the point that I see a new episode and my first thought is " Oh, how are they going to dick him over this week?" Lose tons of levels? Die? Force a story Arch that makes your group hate/untrustful of you? Make your "ultimate" Something that completely shreds you too? ( tentacles puncturing him in the crypt) Poor guy.
The only thing I have to complain about in this series is it seems to be very Amy/ Walnut centric. It's supposed a group game. It's supposed to be "C Team" not Walnut and Co.
I don't know about that. The Walnut/Omin stuff could just as easily be Kate's, Kris' or Ryan's thing, but Amy is the one who latched onto it. Walnut's symbol stuff isn't any bigger of a deal than K'thriss' dueling dark gods, Rosie's big family appearing (and Rothfuss' guest appearance as her son) or Donaar's egg situation. Maybe the Brahma stuff doesn't have a comparison yet -- emphasis on yet.
This is how good games work... You focus on one character for part of it, then move onto another focus character. Gives everyone a chance to be in the spotlight without having to figure out how to put everyone in the spotlight at the same time. He's specifically said he has arcs for everyone, and he's already set all of them up.
I don't know. I'm coming in three months late, but I see a thread for Donaar (egg), K'Thriss (crypt/god), Walnut (anti-K'hthriss [Antika?]). I get a feeling (from how Jerry and Rosie bounce) there is a big story hidden in there somewhere.
bit dissappointed with the dm. this type of shit is never nice to pull at the table. bringing in guests to ambush players is not nice. K'thriss handled it very well though. really impressed with how he maintained composure after that.
Well it's a show that's trying to be entertaining to an audience so guest stars are to be expected along with story above all else so that people come back next week. But yeah in a real game that would be kinda dickish.
Anshuman Bose While it's an unkind move, the group opened themselves up to betrayal so easily. Oh, random Tiefling we don't know and isn't telling us anything, you should come with us. Split the party? That's such a great idea, let's do it twice so the new random character is alone with one other character while another character is alone fighting in an alley. This was the "nobody here has ever played before" game.
Maintained composure? Maybe you need to realize not everyone is a dick about game stuff. They are all having fun and Kris clearly loved that it happened. They all seem to understand that a good story is paramount. And it's not like Kris is dead.
Are you kidding? If I was a player, I would think that was awesome. Super cool betrayal, and sets up some really interesting stuff for future sessions. You know fun in D&D isn't about winning, right? If my character dies in a really cool way, I'm still having fun. It's about telling a cool story together, and the story of "a tiefling betrayed me and became my doppelganger" is REALLY cool.
I agree. "Well, shit. We TOTALLY walked right into that one. But, it makes for a kickass story, so we're rollin' with this!" I would like to think that I'd take it in stride. And she did apologize, in character, before turning up the heat on K'thriss.
