Thanks Tim as always. To Dr Juan's comments, I feel you on that -- this is only going to work if you have your data well organized, and that is the biggest challenge for any of us in this space. And frankly, if I have the data well organized, do I really need GPT to then analyze it? I would hope our human counterparts could handle it at that point!

As someone who picked up Prep over Xmas after solely conducting my ETL within Redshift and using Tableau desktop for the last few years. I share that Prep enthusiasm.

Great job @ Tableau. they released 2024.1, ripped away all metrics and pulse - the main feature of 2024.1 - is not even available to create the metrics again. Thanks for your work, tim.

Hi @Tableau Tim , great work. Just wanted one small advice. Is there a shortcut to get customers who returned as well as exchanged from a data set having four different tables as dataset, I tried the set but it's not letting me combine it. Even tried if else but its giving half of the list only .

Yes unique cutomers who (returned as well as exchanged )

Yes relationships or union. Union the 4 data sets. The common fields would be the translation information but you’d have a column that says return, sale or exchange. If your dataset doesn’t have this structure you could look at doing data prep

@@TableauTim I tried the calculated field for count exch and count returns and count names , it fetched me 58 names which are correct while actually the count must be 55. logically

great video, my disappointment is with 2024.1 don't think anything in there got me excited. I'm still waiting on them to fix an issue with zip-level territories showing huge gaps that I reported 2+ years ago. Would love to see a video that discusses what you think will be coming in 2024.2

One more : Need help here Show a filled map of Country and Sales. On top of this show top 5 country by profit with a "Star" shape. Add tooltip in "italic" showing country name, Sales in M (with 2 decimal point) and Profit in K (do not show decimal point for profit)

Not really impressed with tableau pulse. Too bad they spent so much time on it. They need to focus on bringing the product to the real ETL space, embed better visualization types and allow tableau server data source relationships. I'm not really seeing the benefits vs the costs of tableau pulse. Its not like it understands your data natively or can automatically build relationships or data warehouses on your data or document lineages in a relevant format without developer time. If it did all of those things then we could eliminate the tedium of using tableau at the enterprise level.
