Dude I watch your videos and I didn't even know you were in that tournament!! I was in it, I was SOGEKING (#5 on the battlefy rankings, one rank below you)! I found the server for the tournament through your tableturf videos so it checks out
Happy Birthday! I am also in that discord server. Hopefully I get to play against you in the next tournament. Your videos helped me kickstart my tableturf venture, so it would be cool to see how I fair against the teacher.
As of just watching this video and leaving a comment I wanted to wish you a late happy birthday! I feel bad since you said you’re all alone and you didn’t have any plans, but I’m at least glad you’re having fun with both Big Run and Tableturf Battles! As of writing this, I’m at Tableturf rank 49 and also trying to get every single npc’s card sleeves, including all the characters from the expansion pass!
Happy Birthday! I'm glad they've finally got Tableturf versus as an option, and I fully expect the meta-game to be a constantly-shifting beast compared to designing specific decks to oust CPU opponents, no? Like, playing smaller point cards helps you undercut opponent's plays, but when opponents are playing smaller and smaller, you can slam some meaty cards and take the whole map, so there's a dance of which cards are most powerful at a given period.
You asked what you called cards like the Ultra Stamp. I just call them special weapons (which they are in the main game). I think it's cool that they don't have a special square themselves. You use your other cards to build up special points and when you use them on the special (weapon) card, it depletes the gauge without adding any point of its own. Thematically, it's just like a real turf war in that way. It also incentivizes you to use the special points on the special cards by having them cost 2 points less than every other 12 point card.
I figure nicknames are supposed to be shorter, but I call 'em Actual Literal Specials or Als to differentiate from the special-mode you can use on any card. And I pronounce it like the short name "Al" instead of the initialism of A.L.S. because I'm not trying to make light of a disease.
