When we want to make a quick connection to something without an accessible through-hole, such as when we add a new connection to a group of existing connections for a new accessory, the best way is a tack or sweat joint.
There has to be an abundance of fresh clean solder on pieces to be joined, and solder has to reach flow temperature. The joint must remain stationary as it cools. The resulting joint should look shiny and smooth.
Practice this with scrap wire until you have it mastered. With a proper tack, if we pull the joint, the connection will be as strong as the wire.
