Quite unfortunate that people who don't believe in God, always blame him for the bad things that happen. In saying that it is much more unfortunate that Joel Olsteen has such a huge platform its people like him living so extravagantly that hurt the message. So i dont blame nonbelievers if the tv preachers are your only point of reference. All I can say is that God is good...and we are the ones that are fallen. God isn't the cause of bad things that happen, but yes there are times that he doesn't intervene and allows it to happen.. He will never force himself on you. The more our pride gets in the way, and believe that WE are the answer then there's no need of God in our life, he'll make himself less present. Read 1John you'll see how he feels about false teachers, while at the same time you will see how much he loves you.
