How does that armor hold up to fmj or is that what it is used for

This plate is rated to stop multiple hits of armor piercing 30-06 (solid steel core ammo) ...Which is to say it'll stop pretty much anything someone can physically hold and point at you! I've even seen one stop a ball round of 50 BMG, but that doesn't mean you're going to survive the hit though LOL

if you are concerned about thickness hesco l210s are very economical and tho they arnt level 4 they will stop rifle rounds

Everything is a trade off, and each one has its own purpose! I wouldn't turn down a pair of something thinner even if it did weigh more because it would serve a niche. Maybe they will send us a pair of plates to review at some point!

Was there any particular reason why you used to wear body armour.. Were you military.?

No. I've just worn a lot of armor while training. Ended up trading my last set of steel armor for a handful of sets of soft armor, figure it's better to protect everyone a little bit then only one person completely.. If nothing else it was a good base to go off of because now we're building on to that collection.

I've seen $20 home made armour stop a rifle. And I've seen $500 L4 body armour get blown through by a rifle. I absolutely prefer to see people shoot things before I buy it. Preferably with multiple calibres (no, not pistols, we know everything stops pistols, a towel folded five times and covered in epoxy will stop almost every pistol round on Earth). I like knowing how many hits it can take, too. That's important.
