Just bought the E3 model from Tag directly as they have been heavily discounted as the E4 has been launched. I paid £1050 for the E3; compared to £1650 that is being asked for the similar E4 model. I scan live with lesser battery life and think the E3 looks 👍 too.
Man i thought about the same thing because the E3 has a good discount but the battery life is a deal breaker for me , i travel a lot and i need the battery to last me at least a full day .
I currently have a Samsung Galaxy Watch and I am thinking of upgrading to the Tag Heute Calibre E4 Black Edition. Does the E4 have Always-on display, too?
I really like both E3 and E4, but I have a comprehensive Apple environment (I have an Apple Watch) . Are these TAG smartwatches compatible and easy to connect to iPhone and other Apple devices?
OK, so honest opinion...........is the E4 45mm worth the extra bucks over the E3 45mm? They droipped the price on the E3 down to $1400 which is a killer deal compared to 2265 on the E4.
In my opinion it looks even better than the rubber strap of the E3. Its the same quality, but now with a bit of a structure on the inside, which will help with the grip and also maybe more with ventilation when its summer and the user's sweating.
Great video, danke schoen :) How thick is the case of E4 compared to E3 ? same or bit thinner ? I know 42 mm is thinner but I prefer the extra size and battery ... bis bald
My wife purchased the golf watch version for me at Christmas. Since we purchased the watch I have had numerous problems. I took it back to the Tag Heuer retailer in Palm Beach Gardens Mall a few times. They finally returned it to the Company and provided me a new one. They said they’ve had multiple issues with them. So you know, the golf courses in the Tag Heuer Golf App are very outdated. Some of the best courses in South Florida do not have the right course information….the Medalist Golf Club, Floridian Golf Club, Old Palm Golf Club, etc. have never been updated since they renovated. Some had renovations over 4 years ago. This watch technology is a huge disappointment!!!!
Nicely reviewed thanks. Is the battery capacity the same for all three models? 2020, 42MM and 45 MM? Is the 30% due to the 4100 chip only? Did you notice any difference in the AOD brightness ? It would be nice to know if any other options are coming like the bright black or is this it? These look great!
The Connected 2020 is using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 3100 that is manufactured in 28nm, while the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+ is produced in 12nm. This, together with some other tweaks (maybe sensors that need less energy) the battery life is better than with my Calibre E3, up to 30%, but of course also depends on the usage. About the 42mm version, it will have a lower battery life than the 45mm version. The battery life is always more than one day if you really just focus on the watch and don't track sport activities and turn it into planemode. WIth the 42mm you can track one hour of jogging and still get a full day and with the 45mm version you can also track one hour jogging and two hours walking or five hours golfing and still get the full day. But usually after sport you shower and in the meantime you could just charge the watch and it will be fully charged again, at least thats how I do it :) Another trick to save battery would be a mostly black watchface, as OLED would save energy with that.
There are a few options in the settings menu that you can choose from. To save battery life you can set it to turn off the display after 5, 10 or 15 seconds. But you can also set it to "display always on" and then after 5, 10 or 15 seconds the display will turn into the "lume mode". Every watchface has a seconds design mode that will still show the time but some of the classic watchfaces will show green lume and the display brightness will turn off a bit. I set it to 15 seconds and turned off "display always on". For me the 15 seconds are enough to look at the time and also enjoy the watchface, after that it can turn off to save battery life.
What happens after 7-10 yrs and you’ve invested in a tag watch like this is it still going to be worth anything or even work? Or would you be better off buying a nice tag f1 which should at least last years longer. Not trying to be a hater just interested in general
The E3 straps fitted on the E4 without rubbing, but the E4 didn't fit the E3 at all. Also the E3 metal bracelet doesn't fit the E4, it snaps in, but the endlinks are moving a bit.
Thank you for the review. Will the E3 be able to receive the update of the new Google Wear Os 3 when it becomes available or it will only be available for the E4? I don’t have the connected at this time and I am undecided between getting the E3 or E4. I will like to be able to get E3 since the updates were not that major but be able to continue getting the latest versions of the operating system. Thanks!
Great video - it's much appreciated. So I too have an E3. I'm considering the upgrade. I already knew about the upgrade to hardware & processor. I was hoping to hear from you if you noticed a difference in response time. I have mine set to the 'always on' mode but there is always a bit of a lag when it goes from lume mode to 'on.' Is that lag time still the same or is there a noticeable improvement due to the faster processor? It would be nice to hear your thoughts on the difference that the processor makes to the daily wear of the watch (beyond that it allows for 30% more battery life). Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you!
I've been receiving conflicting information. So is the E4 made in china or not. Sometimes I'm told it is, sometimes I'm told the processor is but the watch is manufactured and assembled in Switzerland.
Thanks mate, I appreciate your review, I was looking for a video like this. Now I'm sure I'll buy this watch 45mm. I love TAG and will be great collection to my TAGs. A question, how long the battery actually last? I almost went to buy the 2020 model, but battery was an issue, I hope this one can last a bit longer. Thanks for video
I‘m happy that my video helped you. The battery life is now about 30% better then with the 2020 version, thanks to the new Chip. If you don‘t track your sport activities it‘s of course less, but if you are in flightmode it will even last two days. So it always depends. Full day even with one hour jogging & 2 hours walking / 5 hours golfing. And the charging is superfast.
I just got mine today. I did not hesitate to open the box to retrieve the return label to send it back. While the presentation is nice, this thing has a cheap Chinese movement that will likely fail when it is kept out of warranty. Add in the fact it does not have the latest Android 3.2 that is now on my Samsung watch 4 classic, and more limited functionality than the prior generation watch 3, it could not be possibly worth what they are asking. It is 4 times more than the watch 4 classic that is lte functional. There are also limited watch faces to chose from. This is nothing but an expensive bracelet. If you want a smartwatch that is engineered and built like the future of their company depends on it, look at the Garmin Fenix 7.
Heavily depends on what you are doing with the watch. I was using the predecessor the last days in flight mode, just for telling me the time and after a day it still had 54%. So the new E4 has about 30% more battery life. It will last a day for sure, with also some activity tracking during the day. But I charge it every day, so I'm always 100% when I start the day.
@@guilhermemiller6422 a smartwatch is just a companion device for the smartphone. If you really feel the need to make phone calls with your watch, then there are a few other watches that are the one for you. This one doesn‘t allow calls at all. But I also never saw anyone using their smartwatch for calling, got a phone for that in my pocket.
It is like with the smartphones, the companies launch a new phone every year, but no need to buy it every year. The E4 has some small design changes and it got an hardware update. E3 owners can continue using their watch and users that want to buy a new TAG Heuer Smartwatch get the E4. Maybe E3 owners will upgrade with the E5 some day, that might have more new features for them.
You know you're talking about a screen less than an inch and a half? U know the pi in ppi stands for per inch right? This isn't a 65" tv or even a 8 inch smart phone
I understand it’s a luxury brand but come on. There’s a watch out there called the Samsung galaxy watch 4 that is probably more technically advanced than this for $200
You're missing the point of this watch. Yes the Samsung is more advanced, but this watch is more elegant and luxurious. Same as a BMW is more advanced than a Maserati. Yet the Maserati is more desirable.
This watch stinks. I had the prior version. Everyone's comments are correct, the Samsung watch is a better choice, it's just a better watch for a fraction of the cost. This isn't just a luxury watch, this is supposed to be a smart watch. When it can't do its job as well as something 1/10th the price, something is seriously wrong. Sold mine for a tremendous loss, they also hold no value at all because they suck as a smart watch.
Smart watches is segment is where paying for more luxury brand makes less sense. 500$ manufacture/marketing/logistic costs + 1750$ gross profit = rip-off.
Yes, but the features are enough for me and I prefer a good quality and great looking smartwatch. The apple watch is not an alternative for me when it comes to a nice looking watch.
The watch case and everything is swiss the technology is made by Intel, intel manufactures in china.. where do you think tech is mostly made? Are you a time traveler from the past?
The fact that Tag has a trade in scheme tells you that these fad watches are not built for longevity. High price and poor battery life make these type of watches a no no for me. I have a couple of ‘normal ‘ Tags which are great watches and are still going if I stay out all night. Nice to look at, but tapping a screen everytime I want to know the time is off putting.
I thought the same thing. I said I would never buy a smart watch. Then about 6 months ago I bought a Galaxy Watch and a Tag Connected and I haven't looked back since. They are now my main watches. I only wear my real watches when I want to flex.
Trade in options are somewhat like phone trade ins to help bridge the transition albeit at a higher depreciation rate. Technology changes so one either accepts that or best to stay away from smart watches.
