This was an impressive performance of the Yang Long Form First Section.. It includes several embellishments that were not included in the way I was taught the form. I continue to be impressed by the beauty and variety of our Tai Chi practice. Lovely!

Mr. Yang is not recognized as a legitimate martial artist among Chinese martial arts societies in Taiwan, China and southeast Asia regardless his popularity in western countries where people know little about Chinese martial arts and its history. The lineage of his Tai Chi teachers is questionable. Kao, Tao and Yue, Huanzhi are not listed on the board of Yang family tree. There is little information about Yue, Huanzhi. Most Chinese articles say that Yue is a disciple of Dong, Yingjie. No records show that Yue is an indoor disciple of Yang, Chen-Fu. That is different from what stated on YMAA board. Mr. Yang claimed on his YMAA board that he learned Taijiquan from Li Mao-Ching. That is incorrect. Li is a master in northern style Shaolin, not in Taijiquan. I personally learned Shaolin from Li years ago while was also learning Tai Chi at the same time. One student asked Li what are the differences between Shaolin and Tai Chi. Li said that if you play Shaolin slowly it becomes Tai Chi. What??? Hello!!! In my trained eyes, Mr. Yang's martial art is created by mixing from different styles with the root in White Crane. I learned Tai Chi from one of Cheng Man-Ching's indoor disciples. Mr. Yang's Tai Chi has too many flaws like beginners per my trained eyes. He added too many unnecessary movements to confuse people. Never saw him demonstrating Taiji Jin anywhere. Is it all a commercial tinge lie?

Why add movements that do not need to be there? Tai ji Quan is simplicity and economy. This has become like a ballet dance.

@@JL-bo4bh Any good youtube channel on tai chi you'd recommend?

@@billmurray7676 Over the years since I studied Tai Chi, I understood the principle of "rooting in the foot" but my body was unable to do it. I was confused how that can be done. Now I think my brain and my body has integrated the concept of "rooting in foot" in a natural way --- without thinking. Whenever I'm in contact with an opponent, a wall, a door or a shelf, the path from the point of contact to my foot(ground) is relaxed at the moment of contacting. I can "receive" Jin or "Fa" Jin anytime from my foot. An adult man can't move me when I stand still. Song(relaxation) and swinging becomes unconscious. There are so much lousy Tai Chi on RU-vid including Chinese. I can usually tell if it is a true Tai Chi in the first few movements. Don't want to waste time finish watching most of the lousy ones. Usually if one form with fancy movements inspires you a lot then you probably want to think twice. These two are the few I would like to follow: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UiM_8qB5bmk.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W1Pye8Hweho.html I can't agree more with the following: “ Skill does not come from lineage, skill comes from self practise. No matter how good your teacher is, it’s his skill, it doesn’t belong to you. It’s the skill developed through your own practise, truly yours.” -- Wee Kee Jin

@@SteveMe21685 as long as the changes made maintain the principles of that which is Tai Ji Quan. It is first and foremost a method of combat.
