Welcome to the practice of Tai Chi.
In this video series, we take the time to examine each part of the 24 movement form, step by step. Whether you are brand new or simply broadening your understanding of Tai Chi, we hope that you will find something valuable and enjoy the time you spend with us.

Join us in this video and together we will:
Take a closer look at the movement, "Parting Wild Horse's Mane"
(Also known as; Part the Wild Horse's Mane, Wild Horse Waves Its Mane, Wild Horse Splits Mane.)
We will also examine the principle of "Empty Leg Stepping" and how it relates to both balance and moving across the floor in Tai Chi.
Instead of being overly concerned with the need to get each movement right, we would encourage you to simply get started and to enjoy the process of practicing. It is more important to cultivate an approach to Tai Chi that is holistic, healthy, and enjoyable enough to make your personal practice sustainable.
Here we will provide both technical clarity and encouragement for the enjoyment TaI Chi Chuan.
PLEASE NOTE:
As the movements of Tai Chi can be both simple and complex, Tai Chi practice provides each practitioner the opportunity for a lifetime of growth and improvement.
It is far more important to simply begin the practice of Tai Chi, than it is to demonstrate any particular competence with the practice of Tai Chi.
Individual improvement comes from asking the body and brain to meet new challenges. Our growth occurs in that asking, more than in meeting the challenges. Once you are able to meet one level of challenge in Tai Chi, another level appears. Thus we are all new students, ever on the edge of our current challenges.
Please enjoy the play and the practice of Tai Chi. This video is meant to stimulate growth and enjoyment in equal measure. I hope that you enjoy playing Tai Chi with us.

beautiful! I learned about 4 moves, in person instruction, amny moons ago. Now I need you to turn around so I don't have to translate right/left confusion. Can you make a video of the form facing away from the camera?

Thanks for the lessons your explainations are very clear and easy one step at a time for beginners! I also noticed that I learn easier when the view is from side since there is no need to do mirror-copy the motions but we can just do the same by being from side to our screen too.

This video would be a lot better if they didn’t keep putting text over his feet.

Nice displays, but the sounds are not very nice, too low

Thank you for the feedback, Muraina. I agree with the audio issue. These were our initial foray into doing this at the beginning of the pandemic. We simply wanted to ensure that everyone had access to quality movement training. As we went along, we learned more and got better at the audio. All the best to you.
