Too difficult to teach the traditional one and 99% of the people don't understand (even the judges). How can you score something you almost cannot see. Those competitions are just for milking money. Just don't call it taji quan or call it gymnastics or dancing taiji and I won't complain.

This actually has a ton of movements from Chen Lao Jia Yi Lu and Lao Jia Er Lu (Pao chui), so I feel like it's less "wushu" than many of the other taiji performances I've seen.

@@Chattepliee "by wushu" you mean "dance"? For the practitioners of the internal martial art taiji quan, we don't look at the form, we look at how the body's internals are moving. For example, for the internal part of this performance, based on what I can see (quite difficult), I would only give a 4/10. She is often losing her center, the shoulders, the hips, chest and dantian are not stable. Pao Chui has no good rooting. I remember my master was making that joke that when his own master went to a taiji competition (yang style), he got ranked the last one haha.
