Honestly, I much prefer the music pass over the hundreds of dollars of dlc that drum and fun had. Also, the reason it's a live service game is because it's an arcade game. So this is really the only way to have a lot of songs and make a flow of money. If they didn't have this and it was a one-time purchase, people would stop going to the arcades. Now, this does suck as an American who doesn't have the option of going to the arcades because taiko is only in japan (unless round one gets machines)

Tbh the price is extremely cheap, when you compare it to every other rhythm game, sdvx is alot more and forces you to convert it to Japanese currency, all the mobile games are like £10 song packs for 12 songs, djmax packs are like £20

Uhh no? 100 for theatrhythm gets you over 500 songs forever. Better than 50 for 70 songs by a mile

Picked this up for $35. So far 77 tracks is great for me. My daughter and I love it. I don't care for the song pass aspect but I might do the free week trial and maybe a month subscription every once in a while. Definitely need to get the drum someday. Wish it wasn't so expensive.

Yeah, the music pass isn't really worth it unless you're a hard-core taiko player that will get a lot of mileage out of it.

Since Taiko uses a ton of licensed songs, I'm afraid that some songs could get removed from the music pass.

Not to mention a fair chunk of the song list is recycled from prior entities, including the previous one on the Switch.

If you're gonna spend on monetized dlc anyways, Just get the 1st switch version then buy dlc

Taiko is def worth price but only with bundle. Plaing in normal controler is not fun but with drum is another level.

@@MabiVSGames i know that some people playing without controler but is like playing ddr on keyboard... can be fun but is not the same. There are some cheap controlers on amazon but Im not sure how they work. I just bought bundle with orginal. There are also some customised drums to buy but really expensive.

Personally, I only really need 76 songs. I'd consider myself a fan, but not like a "I eat this shit up like heroin" ordered it for 24.99 from gamestop with their Black Friday sale, even though I've not played it yet, I feel that if its like the other titles in the series, then, when on sale its a must have, because you get a good amount of songs if you play the game casually, and is like you said, just a generally charming game. But, thats my thoughts on it. Good review!

This is my first rhythm game and honestly I've been playing it daily using motion controls. And even if it is about difficult it's sooo fun.

There's not enough side stuff to do on this one. At least on TNT Drum N' Fun you could play against or with each other in the rhythm based festival games, but this one doesn't have anything like that. Why take that away?

I always buy all of the dlc for these Taiko games. I have the song pass because we were basically forced into getting it with this version. Also im annoyed that we are so far behind with dlc. Japan and Asia have alot more dlc songs than we do here in the West. Bandai namco needsto get with it and update the dlc for us. They always update the song pass, but i would rather own the dlc.

We found this for TEN bucks at a walmart, so the song subscription, while dumb and terrible, doesnt bug me so much. Tbf though its also my introduction to the series (official introduction anyway, id seen videos for years of people playing "that weird red & blue drum game") I love it love it love it. I dont have my own drum kit anymore and my pc died and took FoF with it and boy, this one has really reminded how much I need rythym games in my life.
