I love that Dr Nancy apologized to Glimmer when he got upset! She's so considerate of what he's been through in his life. Great work, everyone! Thank you! Love this channel.
I happened to run across this video, and I actually realized I know of Glimmer--he's a former Big Lick horse and has experienced true trauma. I have lots of experience with former Big Lick horses, and their PTSD can be overwhelming. I wonder if his suppressed immune system is due to the stress of being sored. I'm so glad he's safe now, and it's great to see he got such wonderful care. Thank you Dr. Nancy, and thanks to the late Clant Seay for saving him at auction.
The fact that he had to endure the pain of soring procedures that were only meant to cause pain, he's remarkably tolerant of any medical treatment to help him.
@@susanhannafin3793 If you "would not let (the Vet) anywhere near (your) horse", then what would YOU do? I don't know if you saw the first treatment video, showing just how bad those ears were but, I was tearful for how bad they were. He started so bad, in so much pain, that he had to be sedated and laid down in order for them to be able to treat those ears. Those ears and the behavior, in general and as a pain reflex, were SO much better this time around. Before you start saying "oh I never", think about what you would do, if not whatever you initially reacted poorly to, if it was your animal). Otherwise stated, don't put down other people's ideas unless you have one to replace it with.
@@susanhannafin3793a lot of things should not happen yet they do. She’s a VET helping the horse, in a shelter type setting. They came in all types of shape all the time. 🙄
I love Dr Nancy ❤ Glimmer is such a beautiful horse and deserves only the best. His ears look so good and he will feel so much better when his treatment is finished. Thank you ❤🙏
One of Glimmer's best moves was when Clant was speaking of the Big Lick cruelty, Glimmer, butt in full frame, had a wonderful poop - the perfect puncuation mark to the Big Sick
I saw this on the BillyGoBoy RU-vid channel! Tawnie isn't kidding about the witness program for Glimmer. The Big Lick group of people hated Clant and his mission to abolish this disgusting "class" of horse showing... Glimmer is looking well, thanks Dr. Nancy and the whole team at HPHS!
Every time I see GlimmerI feel such anger for the extreme suffering he has endured from a young colt. I am from England and had never heard on Big Lick until watching your sister channel. I have since viewed a number of short documentaries on it and I truly do not understand how such a BARBARIC activity is allowed. Any sane first world country would have banned this obscene "sport" at inception. I can only pray that your legislature etc ban this activity quickly before more innocent and young horses are so cruelly abused and damaged. If you need signatures etc. though not American I know numerous Horse Societies as well as private owners who would be happy to sign. Keep up with all the amazing work you do. Though I tend to cry a lot watching Auction Days and your BuyOut schemes I recognise that everyone is a victory.
They look SOOOO much better..thank you Dr Nancy..I have to chuckle - critters tend to cringe when they see us and hear our voices even though in the long run we are helping them..but the ones doing the treatment end up at the bottom of the list for a while 😊😊..been there done that many times
Please continue the updates. So happy for him he is getting them treated. I just don't understand how anyone can let a animal in their care be neglected.
The ear is looking better and I feel like you on this one, it may hurt now, but it will be better for him in the long run. As I am sure it would decrease his hearing with them being that long.
So glad that you are doing something about Glimmers ear warts..he maybe realises its helping and is prepared to let you do a bit more tgan originally. Great work guys.
Poor guy…why hoomans soring my ear 😢. They stand still because they get the crap beaten into them if they don’t, yet those ears hurt so much he won’t let them be touched without sedation Sure makes me wish we could explain it to him. Good job Dr. Nancy! I bet he’ll forgive you 😊
This is awful. This shouldnt even exist. It only serves to cause suffering. Whoever designed this realm is disgusting. Thank you for helping these innocent beings
Wonder if his really older stable mates that went to Big Lick have warts in their ears too. I understand that these type of warts are only on equines. If his older stable mates that were Big Lick were shaved with the same clippers on their ears could the virus have been passed?
I don,t know if comments are answered oin this channel, is the ear warts that Glimmer have the papilloma wart (very contageous if you touch them to other equines), my horse has them but we never inquired for treatment. Vet told me to leave it alone.
It's spring. They're all shedding like that. Great wads of hair. In a couple weeks they'll all look sleek and shiny. Right now, with mud and rainy season, and shedding, they're all looking a tad disreputable. 🙃
@@HughLlewellyn I’ve been around horses my whole life. Something else is going on. Not accusing anyone of anything just saying maybe they need to look into it.
Dr Nancy I find if you put a towel over their eyes it helps as it doesn’t give them a heads up what’s coming. I know you are well and truly organised just a suggestion. 🤩🤩👏👏🐴🇦🇺🇦🇺
The Big Lick'ers claim their "retired" show horses live happily ever after on a ranch, yet they can barely walk once retired?! (They can barely walk in the show arena!) A total lie as how many are we seeing dumped at slaughter auctions? Glimmer is the poster child for abolishing this bizarre treatment of horses.
There was a video where Tawnee (hopefully written correctly) explained why the tech is gone. Was a bit of a shocker to me. But there were already people in the past I never thought they would be like they were... like Maddy and I believe some Shelby (not Shelby Blood) Just search on the main channel for that video
I can’t find the video you mention, do you know the title of it. I’m new to this channel so would like to know a little bit about who used to work there and why they would leave.
