A young maiden sits in a feasting hall. She is bored. Nay one the men here suit her fancy, nay one of them can compare to the hero scrawled upon her literature. She turns the page, and the inscription reaches a hand to her, and she takes it. She enters the world of her literature, where her hero plays amongst the bards to serenade her. She is quite transfixed by him, until the dark Lord's thugs approach with mace drawn. The hero leads the maiden to the exit, but must fend off the villains as it closes. The hero is struck down as the maiden reads on, now in her cottage. That's when a spell takes hold and the hero springs forth from the pages of the novel to her warm embrace.
