Take Responsibility! Fantastic Episode! - Jellyfish Can't Swim At Night Episode 10 Reaction! 

This was the director of this ep first time doing both storyboard and episode directing also it’s there 2nd time ever directing an episode. Probably the best directed episode after episode 1

This episode was great in so many ways! Loving this show, I feel it's the gem of the season. Kim's performance at the end made me cry. I went straight to see who is her VA.

It's really a twist. I thought it should be something to deal between Kano and Mahiru in this ep but no. Kim is a real MVP here.

Episode 10 was full of passion singing, Bocchi Da Rock head shake and Ai Hoshino.

Totally agree... this episode made me appreciate Kim.... I want to see Kiui's next episode, but Kim's stole the show today.

“Take responsibility”, I love that, it’s in so many manga, they always say that phrase. And funnily enough in a lot of hentai too haha.

I think Mahiru is not as bad as you think. The wry smile she shows after the disbandment v-cast shows that she actually had trust in her friends and knew that JELEE would be okay despite all of the drama. I think she is also doing the Yukine project to level up her skills in a way she knows she cannot within JELEE so she can come back to JELEE as a stronger member.

My take on Mahiru: She told Kano beforehand about the offer, that she was interested and wanted to hear more about it. Reassured Kano that, if she ever wanted to talk about what happened with mom, she would be open to hear it, but didn't make it a requirement because she doesn't want to pressure Kano is talking about it. Then later go talk to the group before giving the okay about it (the subs last ep messed it up, Yukine said the expects a good answer, but they got confused from a small break between her saying いい返事 and 期待している, but you can see that when Mahiru go talk with the others she says she plans to accept the offer and not say she accepted it already) while deciding to want to take it, and when kano asks her why she wants it, Mahiru is sincere to the point of being vulnerable and telling how she hates herself and this would help she likes herself more, and also apologizing twice during. So basically, what Mahiru did wrong was wanting to take this job even though doing it would, at least delay their work in the mv they had already promise to do. But that isn't such a big deal, to the point where mei and kiui are shown to be fine with it, and all the three are taken aback by Kano's reaction. The viewer knows better as we are shown Kano past and can see how it would make her react so badly, but none of the other girls do. Heck, if you think about it, this isn't that different from back in ep 4 but inverted. The girls have their personal things to do, but after hearing the reason why Kano wanted it to be on Wednesday (albeit in this case it wasn't even from Kano herself) they make an effort and pull al all-nighter on the weekend to try to make it do. Just like you would expect them this time to delay it so Mahiru can do her job after hearing her reasons for it. And they could have just talked and tried to come to a solution if the date was too important. For example, if they delay, they can always only do so for a few days, considering back in episode 4 they pretty much made an MV in a weekend. The new year is at least a week of holiday for students, so Mahiru could use it to finish the art asap. Alternatively, they could see if they can help Mahiru in some ways with her work so she may be done earlier than expected and they may still deliver the mv in time. With that in mind, what I see of Mahiru this episode is that from her lines with kiui, she decided she will work her ass off on the job so she completes it with still time left to do the art for the new year MV. But she doesn’t want to tell Kano that as she thinks it will feel like a lie, as it will likely be very difficult so instead, she wants to come to Kano with results, when she has them. When she tried to explain why this work would be very beneficial on her art improvement, she wasn’t able to explain with words, so she seems to want to show her with an actual amazing piece of art after she is back with all she learned and improved during the commission. Well sorry for the huge wall of text, all these discussions around the fandom makes me want to take this out of my chest.

I think Kano was singing for Mahiro, but then Mahiro dumped them. It think that’s why Kano said she did it for a dumb reason. I think Mahiro wants to do both projects, and she’s rushing to get the mom’s project done so she’ll have time for the JELEE project by new years. However, she believes Kano thinks she’s a traitor so Kano won’t believe her words, so she’ll show Kano with actions.

They actually made a Nendoroid of one of these characters, I didn’t think they’d get a figure already since this anime isn’t very popular. I’m trying to get a figure of Nagatoro & finding out there’s very few, I thought there would be more of her as that manga seems to be popular enough.

Mahiru may not be reatching out but I don't see Kana reatching out either. Kano never told anyone about what went down between Kano and yukini. She treated Mahiru as if she betrayed Kano the same way Yukini thought Kano betrayed her.

I don’t understand why people think Mahiru was at her fault living her group she took a job opportunity to expand her art design skills to new level also maybe she have a plan to help Kano.

It seems like we get another kissing scene in this show but I do hope Kano x Mahiru end up together

I guess I had a lot expectation, so this ep disappointed me a little. To me, was the worst episode, kinda empty, but still good, except for Mahiru I don't liked Mahiru acting like none in the ep 9 has happened and I probably won't like when Mahiro and Kano meet again because they miraculously forgive one another. Just take off her last scene after the song it would de ok Mahiru just forgot what Kano said in episode 9 and was happy for her still want to sing, I know Mahiru knows that what Kano said isn't truth, but if somebody you love say something like this to you still hurts. Also, Kano accepted she was guilty, and that's good, but what Mahiru did, decide work for Yukine, still hurts her. And they ignored this to make Kano wants stop sing. She lost her reason to sing (Mahiru), but now she has a totally different reason to both stop and come back sing. It's like Mahiru working to her mom don't care anymore. I felt like something has missing in this, it's like the the scripters forgot about Kano adn Mahiru's fight and Kano is just sad

I understand the conclusion but I did not love the conclusion.

Damn I hope Mei and Kano gets together now. Mahiru can just stay away forever, she dont belong in this group ever again Also I called it, they made it so Kano think she is in the wrong, when Mahiru is the only one in the wrong🤦🏼‍♂️ Mahiru broke their promise which she knew was important, she chose the mom even though she knows there are problems between her and Kano, she even still chose her after she Saw the mom refusing to use Kanos name and also when she could easily see the mom only tries to hurt Kano with how perfect the schedule lines up. But according to the studio and author, its apparently much worse to yell the truth at a backstabbing betraying b*tch than it is to do everything Mahiru did… So what have we learned in these last 2 episodes? Its okay to break important promises and backstab and betray your closes friends, but its not okay to then get mad at that person🤦🏼‍♂️

It was a garbage episode you could see coming a mile away! I really expected better based on what came before.
