We used to play , you're cheating heart. My dad played the steel guitar, we played " his children" the bass, guitar, ukulele. I miss my dad, specially when I hear music like this. I am in my 70s now. Loved your playing sir.❤
Takes me back to my family get togethers. All of my aunts and Uncles played some kind of guitar, slide and when we can get enough of us together they still play. They are in their 70's and 80's so I am really going to miss this part of family.
I've seen and heard lots of songs played by David Hartleu. Great, awesome1 But this version of 'Take these chains from my heart', that I only knew sung by Ray Charles, is like...WOW! This is so beautiful!!!

Love a good steel guitar, and a violin. Grew up in the 60's with all the country music shows on Saturday night's, thats where i fell in love with the steel guitar. At 70, I'm a little old to try learning it now. But listening to you sure makes me wish I had learned. You are a master. God bless ya'll and keep playing.
I just this music ,,when me and my husband first met we would go out dancing at a honky tonk saloon as and there was saw dust on the floor in certain areas ,,well I hit the dust and down I went and across the floor ,,I was the main attraction that might ,,all I could do was laugh ,,,yee haw well I lost him in 2012 to heart and kidney failure ,,I so much still miss my Mississippi country boy ,,he would of been 77 on March 31 st 😓😭still keeping loving memories in my heart
Hi Cynthia.. many blessings to you, and I'm so sorry for ur loss..my the Good Lord lay his loving and healing hand,upon ur heart......and yes, I also know all about those " sawdust floors " dear... just not so much today, as in years gone by..those old honky-tonks ,are few and far between also... use to on a Saturday night, you could hop in the car , drive in any direction you pretty much wanted to, and within a few minutes and a few short miles, you'd find urself two stepping with the best of them.. ofc back when we were all just kids and still learning, it was V.F.W.'s and usually old School Houses lol...occasionally, the town square, for " cake walks " and whatever... you know, those good old days..man I sure do miss em..many blessings to all...and hagd..😊😊😊
@@dougsteel Years ago my dad financed a sho bud steel guitar. Top of the line, all sorts of pedals and knee levers. Thought I could learn how to play it.oh and it had 2 necks also. That would be priceless today. Needless to say I lost interest in it because there was no one around that could teach me how to play. This was in 1969. Buddy Emmons demonstrated this instrument at the shop where they were selling them . He made it look easy. Recently I bought a lap steel guitar off a store in Bristol Tennessee. Maybe one day I will try again . any advice ?

That right there is some beautiful playing! Sadly, the steel guitar is not an instrument in country music anymore, todays country "crap" music is no longer the country that I was born & raised with, and playing the steel guitar is UNFORTUNATLEY a "lost art"! Something I have always wanted to learn how to play but never had the opportunity! Thankyou for sharing your video! I really enjoyed it😃👍🏻
