Just in case anyone needed to know, since they usually don't finish these series, the guy who actually did this, Matthew Muller was arrested and given 40 years for everything after being caught just a couple months after this initial incident happened. He's also facing new charges of rape after Denise admitted she didn't tell the first officer that he did indeed rape her AND video it because there guy told her he'd come back and find her again and kill her before they ever find him in the first place.

Hope there was a big fat winning lawsuit filed against the Vallejo PD.

Why is there never a part 6 or an ending to these stories? So frustrating

The couple sued the and reached a settlement. Who has to bear the costs of the police malfeasance? The taxpayers.

I watched the rest of it on ABC news website but had to use the search function to find it all but man the story is beautiful. You can see how strong this couple is, just supporting each other through hell that wasnt just the crime part but the vilification they received from basically the whole world! They tied the knot and had a baby girl exactly 5 years after Denise's release from the kidnapper. Only 1 guy was caught tho and Denise had to accept it even if it terrified her. She admitted to sexual assault as a form of blackmailing but nothing was said about the video evidence or if both of the bad guys did it. The connection with the ex fiance also was never touched on. Out of topic but the couple is gorgeous! Im so happy for them

At the beginning of this, they said they were looking for his ex? They never touched on how muller knew them. Also he knew the guys name. They never circled back to how he was connected to them. How did they know the house.

Such despicable cops snd they aren't even mature to apologise to the couple. Yes, the story is strange but as LE they jeeded to look at all angles and investigate properly. IT's good that they looked at the bf first but they soon dropped the ball and went down the wrong path. I must say he kept his composure and story straight when he was being questioned. What I found strange was how oddly calm she was when she was being questioned at the neighbour's house.
