Visiting the Back to the Future mall in a Delorean

I’d love to see one of these replicas in person. I’m doing my visit to the BTTF locations next month and have planned out a stop at almost every public location I could find. I’m coming all the way from Boston and bringing my wife on her first trip out to Cali and her first ever trip to movie locations. She’s in for a nice surprise because I have not told her the sign is at the mall, which I just recently found that out myself. I am super exited about this trip out there. I have found the actual location on the road where Marty u-turns at the start line to begin the time run to the Clock Tower. It wasn’t easy to locate a spot not marked by anything permanent but a lamppost. Not a park bench. Not a walking trail. Not even a very prominent tree highlighted by the evening’s lightning. The lamppost has at least 10 matching equals on that road. The park bench has moved and since been removed. Even the walking trail that was once to the right of the bench and the lamppost is now to the left. Aw that beautiful tree, that prominent majestic tree that could make things easily identifiable unfortunately was cut down between 2016 and 2017 according to dated Google Street Views. But working my way back in time I located the tree, the lamppost, and an old bench with the trail on the right side. This is the spot on the road to the observatory.

Now that was badass! The real location of the mall from the movie.

Its sad the mall is dying with not much stores was a food mall having jcpenney Robinson Sears circuit city (toys r us) with jcpenney Robinson (Macy's was in it and closed ) Sears closed the mall is just keep dieing with more and more stores closing

Yeah that guy seemed really surprized! [not] and the first guy, are you a fan? No! not many people are BTTF & DeLorean fans like me. i would have been freaking out if that happen to me! i think what you should have done, was put out a post saying hey if theres any BTTF fans in the area contact me. and i will surprize you with something. and drive the car to their house or something or meet at the mall. i woud have been asking a lot more questions, pushing bottons, and playing with the time circuits. also loved the reactions from people. not many delorean or time machince owners show that kinda content. too bad you live in CA, would love to have that showed up two years ago for my 40th B day.
