That’s one of them good in the hood mechanics. He will come look at your car for a 6 pack of natural light. And go with you to buy the parts so you won’t get ripped off. He was wilding with those storage fees in an abandoned lot though 😂.

I like the defendant's honesty. I'll admit it when I'm being an ass, I always appreciate someone else admitting the same kind of thing.

First mistake was taking a job 3 hrs away and not relocate..

Defendant should've refunded her money and took the car. Then fixed and resold. He might have made more money that way.

I feel bad for the defendant. Not only did he not make any money, but purchasing this car for her cost him +$400.

This was a great case, the people were sympathetic.

But why did the defendant have to pay the mechanic for the engine work? He went to the auction, got the vehicle, bought the engine (I assume out of the money that she had given him), that should have been it for him. The rest is on the plaintiff. This case is crazy to me.

We know DARN well he ain’t charging 1000 to out that engine in.

I'm sick of women playing the female card that they got taken when buying a car. I sold new, used, and rental cars. I was also a assistant service manager for National Car Rentals sales lot at their zone office near Ohare Airport. There were other female salespeople at the places I sold at. The only time I felt the whole gender issue, was when I first started calling in parts orders. The parts managers at the dealerships I ordered from would say "Are you sure that's the part you need, maybe you should put the mechanic on the phone". It is frustrating, but everytime I see a case on ANY court show, the woman always makes it seem that she was taken advantage of just because she's a woman. The reality is, a used car is sold "as is" whether you are a man, a woman, or a monkey. Pulling the gender card is almost as bad as pulling the race card.

Alley machanic that is not licensed and works on your car in an abandoned lot??... AND HE CHARGES STORAGE FEES?? Hahaha that all sounds promising. 😳🙄

I drive vehicles for two car dealerships here in Bloomington Indiana. They get all of their cars from auctions. Before they purchase a car, the cars are started and details are given about the vehicles before the auction bids even begins. the guy is a liar. Every auction a person bids on a car, who would bid on a car if they already know that the engine is bad and would have to be replaced so it would actually jacked the price up on the vehicle when it is bought and repaired.

These two are ONLY interested in their profits...how can they keep buying 'trashed' cars that do not work....who knows what 'parts' the unlicensed mechanic keeps listing/adding?! He ignored her because he had got his 700 and didn't care once he got his money. They took advantage of a naive young lady.

When you buy a car at auction, you can have it started before the auction...

People need to realize most cars are as is. If you want a great running car with a warranty then buy a newer model or lease one. On most states a car is as is doesn’t matter if it’s from a dealer or private party. AZ has a 15 day law only if you buy from a dealer. Lots of dealers go to auction that’s where many cars are bought abs sold.
