It's really not these testing centers want fingerprints and blood. Then you have to walk through enchantment breakers to ensure you didnt cast any spells to have someone take the exam for you.
I remember my sister had a vial of my moms ashes with her, so she could feel like mom.was watching over her while she took her test. and they confiscated it and told her mom could watch her from the lobby.
@@beepbeepcasucha passed with flying colors, thankfully. But seriously the vial was permanently sealed. Did they think mom was going to help her cheat from beyond the grave.
Me: Jumped through bureaucratic hoops for medical clearance to take epipens and albuterol into licensing exam. Local Testing Center: I didn't see that email. No. Me: provides copy of printed approval and test info. LTC: Confers to debate if they trust their own company's approval.
LTC: We agree the letter is probably real but... if you talk to that thing WE WILL FAIL YOU. Me: Probably? Sorry, what? LTC: DON'T TALK TO THE EPIPEN. WE ARE WATCHING YOU. Me: Okay? I didn't talk to epipens. I did pass my licensing exam. And post-test the room supervisor explained the wild s*&t they see.
You need a part two - the actual exam room. It has florescent lights that buzz so loudly the room shakes, the desk the computer sits on has 3.5 legs, the seat is missing chunks of plastic, it smells like a high school boys' locker room that hasn't been aired out or cleaned in two years and the next room over has a test taker humming and rocking back and forth so noisily that you can actually hear him over the florescent lights.
Absolutely brought back the terror of checking in and out for breaks. You forgot how they make you take off your glasses and make you stand there half-blind while having this conversation with them. 😂 1 single stall bathroom for 50 test takers is too real
OMG for real??? Is cheating that prevalent for them to go this far? You know what, I’m glad this do this shit. I don’t want no dead beat doctor that cheated their way through school and tests. This is perfect. Lol
This feels exactly like what I went through taking my 2 NP cert exams. They took my glasses to make sure they weren’t “spy glasses”. I also had to lift my shirt and turn in a circle. I had to please ask that they let the other male in the room out before I pulled my shirt “up to my bra band”. I was given a super detailed way I had to remove my sweater and put in on the back of the chair and once removed, could not be put back on. Like my sweater was magically going to gain answers on the chair?
In Mexico our tests centers have metal detector and depending on where you are they also check you for stuff. The major concern is of course a cellphone
Did they give your glasses back…? I would have needed those to see 😭 “Uh… I need those to take that test.” “Because they’re SPY GLASSES?!?” “No because they’re prescription. I CANT SEE.”
This is the exact same experience I had with my teacher license exam! I wasn’t allowed to bring in tissues even though I had a bad cold and I was accused of having a different signature than on the last test. I actually had to pull out my drivers license to prove that my signature matched the one on my license!
I’m actually terrified that this will happen to me because the signature on my license is from when I got my learners permit at 15!! 7 years later and it looks nothing like it. Couldn’t replicate it if I tried.
This, in my case, was not a medical exam test but a GRE test That I went through. I did have a doctor's note I also had Medical reports from the hospital indicating that I needed to but I needed to eat every hour on the hour at least or my blood sugar would crash. So I had my bottle of the diluted glucose Mixture to drink and I had dried fruit.. They told me at the testing that I was not allowed to have any of this many of this and I told them yes I was here's all the documentation and all the proof. They didn't like it they also told me I couldn't Drink or eat during the test but there was no guarantee that his test would be over a certain time. When I took the test I was not allowed to consume anything dried fruit or liquid. The result I passed most of the morning test but then I had a seizure thanks to them in the afternoon. They also told me that I could not make it up.. Unless I paid for the whole test all over again and started from the beginning. Sadly that and one other thing made me give up on grad school permanently even though I took the classes. I have half of my classes for grad school I took them as an undergrad. Sorry for the misspellings my speech to text program does not work well.
A lot of people don't realize that many of these test vendors have accommodation teams. They will work with you. The issue is the Test Center are not the accommodation team so they have to follow the policy or turn you away. When you work with Accommodations all the information is passed to the center well in advance so there are no surprises.
I had to take a test like this to apply for my Masters degree. They had me take off my hair tie because it was too thick and I could put it on my wrist and have notes on it...or something. So they had cheap thin ones for me to put my hair up with instead. They did a fingerprint test as well as a palm scan whenever you went in or out of the room, checked my coller and under my shirt, my belt, up my sleeves, and did a pat down. This was for an accounting degree. Oh, they also checked my glasses.
This is spot on! When I took my nursing board NCLEX, I had on a necklace. Standard thin chain with a penguin pendant. Even though the lady inspected the necklace, she said I couldn’t wear it in. I had to leave it in the locker with my keys and cellphone. Then, 3 hours later, I picked up my keys and cellphone, forgetting the necklace. 😫 I had to drive back the next day and get it, a 3 hour round trip. But I passed! Yay! But I’ll never forget that lady looking at my with her judgey eyes. 👀 lol 😂 keep up the good work doc Schmidt!
I work at this testing center and we do this because it has actually happened before along with some other glasses related cheating techniques. It’s not so unreal when you’ve seen it happen!
So true, I always feel like I'm on trial at these exam centres, except that I'm cheating until proven innocent. The most unreasonable part imo is that we're not allowed water. God forbid we're hydrated while taking the most important exams of our lives. Like if you're worried that we'll use our water bottles to cheat somehow, just provide some for us?
The proctor probably did that because their supervisor had walked in. Every "i" shall be dotted, every "t" crossed, and every sweater neatly hung across the back of the chair. The punishment for failure to enforce is having to review all 6 hours of you doing nothing remarkable at all. You'd move the damned sweater, too.
This is what it felt like when I went to take my teacher content knowledge exam!! Like bro wtf am I gonna have written on my stud earrings that will help me in this exam?? WHY DO I HAVE TO TAKE THEM OUT??!
When I was hired to work for the city I took New Employee Orientation. For one section, they brought in all the new hires for crossing guards. After that section was completed we had a ten minute break. I guess after the break the needed to do something with crossing guards ONLY, so the door was shut, etc. As us other new city employees came in, we'd head back to the room, but crossing guard instructor was in there and you got your ass handed to you for entering the room when you're not a crossing guard.... That instructor was EXACTLY the same as this character! I didn't know the fate of our country lies with the crossing guards.
This is the GRE as well. They didn't even allow you to bring your phone into the testing centre, and provided no lockers, so I had to navigate using a google maps printout (which they also confiscated.)
I literally skipped my GRE because of this. i didnt have a car to drive and had no one to give me a ride. i couldnt take the bus without having my phone to use google maps (i am terrible with paper maps and terrified of being lost) . i knew once i got there i wouldnt be able to take my phone inside, so i just skipped it and applied for programs where my GPA could exempt me from needing GRE 😂 lost that $200 dollars though
This video immediately brought back bad memories of the two times I had testing-center required exams for my ACBSW , them my license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW. Now retired for nearly a decade, the testing center in Nashville, TH, Mild PTSD symptoms lasted for a while. I passed both exams.
In the 70's nursing boards were 2 days in a hotel ballroom with hundreds and hawknosed old proctors. Several candidates started into labor and were hissed at when they panted or sighed.. I don't remember a break except for lunch when we were cautioned against drinking anything ...the end of the day we were all prunes.
Oh my goodness…I took my boards in the 80s and it was in a huge conference room somewhere…I think I blocked that for my own sanity. The proctors were mean as snakes! The test was All in paper and when I got so nervous I got diarrhea they went with me to the bathroom. Lovely to have such a moment in front of her😂😂😂.
Before moving to the US I had to take standardized tests at ETS centers and this is so accurate . I thought it had to do with overseas testing but turned out to be a universal experience even with American doctors
I had a golden bracelet worn for the past 19 years my grandpa gave me. They had to document I could not remove it and was forced to break it off. And even then, they wouldn't remove the notation. Shout out to Pearson in Corpus Cristi for my EMT exam.
I can’t imagine!! When I took the nursing boards 25 years ago, they did this, pretty much, our finger prints was what let us in and out and we had to leave our keys and bag in a locker. You only got your key back when you were done. Love how the terminal just shuts down so you have no clue how you did! You had anywhere from 150 to 500 questions. Mine shut off at 155 and I remember telling myself I know they said if it shuts off this early, you aced it, but I felt it was so bad! 🤣🤣
Lmao they gave me sound proof headphones when I took NCLEX. They offered a bathroom break, but the clock would have kept running, so I decided to hold my pee for dear life lol
Honest to god, when I went to test for my RN licensure, I was advised by my nursing instructors that even if someone dies next to you, not to move a muscle and just keep on test taking! Oh yeah getting that license to practice medicine is serious business! Thank you for another great video.
Just like in the Forbidden City. The testing was so grueling that that many boys did die. They were testing to be part of the upper echelon for finance and the military in the Emperor's court.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha taking my PTA boards was exactly like this 😂😂 dude even took apart my inhaler before letting me take it into the testing room with me to make sure I hadn't written anything on it or hidden any notes inside it 😂😂😂😂😂
I worked at a testing center and yeah, we hardly ever actually looked at those security cameras. 🤣 I was too busy trying to get a homework done for my classes.
They made me take my bun down and then said I can only use their hairties rather than the scrunchie I was wearing. They also said no chapstick. Needless to say since I always wear a bun, it threw me off on the exam.
Similar field. Same experience. “Why did you even bring sunglasses? Why did you look at that person? Keep your eyes cast downward at all times? Why do you make noise? Empty your pockets again”
This is exactly what taking the GRE was like for me. Arrived at a testing center in New Hampshire in the middle of a legit blizzard. Had to leave my coat outside. They also made me erase the emergency contact information written in my passport because I was “allowed nothing written in pencil.” To this day I still don’t understand why.
Proctor security checks just disseminate more ways to cheat than people were ever aware of before 😂 Like, how in the world would I be able to fit such fine print on my glasses that I wouldn't have otherwise already memorized?! 🤔
for the NREMT we have to SCAN OUR PALMS when we check-in, before we talk to the lady who briefs us, before we go into the room, once we exit the room, and when we sign out to leave.
This is the same at the testing center for the CPA license. I also wear glasses. They make me take my glasses off, set them on the table so they can look through them. I also have to pull my pant legs up so they can see im not hiding anything in my shoes or socks. There's a camera right above every computer.
This is the same test center for the CPA exams (there are four). They take your picture, take your fingerprints, and take your ID. But the worst part is the exam room because of all the distractions. Before arriving at the exam center, eat a HUGE meal so you don't get hungry during the next four hours but don't drink any fluids. Immediately before the check-in process, take a Sudafed and go to the bathroom because if you have to go to the bathroom or eat something in the middle of testing, you are wasting very precious time.
I took my insurance license exam at a testing center. The lady was just like this character. Like calm down lady I’m just going to be a secretary for an agent. 😂😂
Worst prometric center was in Miami Florida. The staff had as many rules as a military boot camp yet they worked at the leisurely pace of a Sunday stroll through the park.
MCATs were pretty much just like this! Though bathroom breaks and lunch were unsupervised the eleventy billion cameras nobody so much made eye contact.
I had flashbacks of the NCLEX exam. You are the only one that can trigger my PTSD and make me laugh at the same time! Thanks for another realistic and informative video Doc!
When i took the board exam the waiting time before entering the test was annoying. We where divided into two groups, but the first group started doing the exam late and that caused us to start late. We ended up waiting 2 and a half hours on the line because of that.
Lol!!! This I “literally accurate”’!!!! Haha except instead of sweater it’s do not touch, adjust, or move your mask or glasses bc they might have cameras or things written on the inside!!
At least they have a good reason to be so extra for professional qualifications test. Examiners/teachers act like this in highschool & even middle school, for literally no reason lol.
