I really appreciate this post. After wasting time trying to get info from LG links, you clearly answered my question. Good on you sir. I liked & saved your video so I can return in the future. Thanks

So i just moved to a new house with this washer in it and it absolutely stinks and the rubber seal was clogged with hair. I took the rubber seal off without taking apart the whole unit and cleaned out all the hair that was clogging that little hole in the seal. Now im having trouble getting the inner part of the seal back on. I really dont wanna take apart the washer because the dryer is mounted on top and its in my bathrooms closet.

Watching your video showed me how I can get access from the bottom without taking apart ANYTHING! I repaired (bicycle tube patch style) the 3-port rubber bellows manifold that had developed an annoying leaky split. Simple, was done in an hour and next time it would be 10 minutes. Thanks! If it leaks again, I'll invest in a new manifold. Thanks!

You should try the LG TurboWash 360 WM3900 next and maybe show the matching dryer? We want to see some cycles too with turbo on. I’m considering upgrading from an old Maytag top load.

As far as options I don’t see where you would need more than what it’s offering. The only thing I would like in a step up version would be a recirculation pump because I really believe that it helps in wetting down large items and loads much quicker.

It does I'm pretty sure it just doesn't have the switch for it its automatic
@petermaz701
@petermaz701 5 лет назад
Liam Leblanc When he took apart the washer and showed the pump there wasn’t a separate recirculation pump Nor a pipe going back to the drum to spray the wash unless I missed it, we’ll see when he does a demo of the washer but normally the lower LG units don’t have the recirculation pump everything is getting so cost conscious lately it’s ridiculous.

Have you had to replace the drum bearing on this machine? Two friends of mine had LG washers, one the lower end and the other the top of the line version, and after a few yeas, both machines began making a soft grinding noise while washing and a really loud grinding noise while spinning. With both machines, the main drum bearing had failed. Both friends got quoted $600-800 to get the machines fixed, and they both ended up just getting new machines by LG, and so far, so good.

I have this model and that’s why I’m watching this video. On the spin cycle it’s getting louder and louder…I mean an airplane would take off quieter than this. So I’m searching these comments to see if anyone mentions bearings and sure enough…

Some Panel Screens are white and very easy to read. The 37 washer is the same as the WM3400CM and 35 just with 2 or 3 more options including the WiFi in which is pointless to me but "technology". Smh.. Older models are Just as good as the newest LG washers that's out today really. 👍🏾👍🏾😁

I don’t understand the settings on US washers. Cold, warm and hot? What does that mean? I want to know the temperatures! Also the spin speed low, medium and high? What is that? Why does it not tell you the RPMs? I guess different ways of doing things but definitely not what I am familiar with.

I just had this for a month. Is the drum really tilting a bit upwards? My old LG washer that lasted 11 years doesn't seem like it. That one broke during its final spinning cycle and one of the shock absorbers broke off, so it was a loud banging noise on the basement as it was jumping off the floor that it even moved the dryer beside it. It was a frightening experience!

What LG front load washer do you recommend at this point?
@Gbari7
@Gbari7 4 года назад
Has LG addressed the issue that many front loaders have with the rear flange/spider assembly degrading over time with this model? Is the part painted, made out of a non-corrosive material, or located outside the drum so it doesn't get wet?
@a89proof
@a89proof 3 года назад
I highly doubt it. It's too cost effective to die cast the spider out of a zinc alloy, and it generally withstands the wet alkaline environment it has to work in for the length of the warranty. There's no cost benefit to the manufacturer to paint or otherwise encapsulate the spider, and it's not feasible to relocate it outside of the tub and still have it perform its necessary function of supporting the drum. An epoxy coating or change in alloy would extend its service live drastically, but also add whole dollars to the cost of manufacturing a consumer appliance that has been cost-optimized to save every possible penny.
@marksargent1431
@marksargent1431 4 года назад
As I live in Colorado, it would be fair to say scheduling an appointment would be difficult. You made a comment in the video that there is a manual test mode for every function before disassembly. Do I need to purchase the service manual to perform those tests, or is there a location where I can download those functions. I've suddenly lost water inlet to the tub, so I figure it's an inlet valve issue working in tandem or a circuit board issue. And assistance you can offer would be a great help. Thanks.

Wait Eugene...is that actually a button for the "add a garment" or is it just a light saying you may pause the machine and add an item that eventually goes out the closer to the end of the wash cycle?

hey my drum paddle broke on one end and i was wondering is this something that the warranty would cover ? i dont recall palcing something heavy in the washer. Also if i wanted to replace it is it possible to remove it with this particular model?
@a89proof
@a89proof 3 года назад
I can't say for sure on this model, but they're commonly just snapped in to place. You should be able to get access to see the outside of the drum and how the lifters are locked in by removing the vent hose from the top of the tub. In the event that there is a screw holding the lifter in place, you will likely be able to access it in this manner without disassembly of the tub.

After me and my wife we both sold a kidney on the black market to put for a down payment on a house, we thought about buying new washer and dryer... The ones we found them in the new house, were some solid rugged 2004 Kenmore, made in USA, quite old, but solid as a tank... So we decided to keep them, I took them apart and serviced them troughfully, I probably removed about 5lbs dust and fluffs from the dryer, washer was stinky... Clean everything, checked the shock absorbers and all the hoses... Put everything back together and we're as new! I was so happy, they were everything I've needed from a washer and dryer... 6 months later, the spider arm broke at 1000 RPM, I left the house trough the wall, I've thought finally the Russians made the move and bombed us... After inspecting it, I've identified what was wrong and start looking for the parts... Spider arm, bearing, belt etc... Well... Seems like that wasn't so easy, the spider arm only comes with the drum as well, and the local store had a few in stock but they were selling it $800. Obviously, at this price just for the spider arm wasn't worth fixing it anymore, so they ended up at the dump site and went shopping for a new set I found the newer model as yours LG WM3090CW, (discontinued, it's February 2022) brand new, sealed... They we're $845 all together with stacking kit a little under $2000 CAD. They are identical, just doors rims from gray are white now, which is something that I prefer it so. I've had my eyes on a different set, a lot more expensive, (WM4100HBA) they all have the same parts! It's all about design and color, I really don't care much about the color (I prefer white), I don't need 114 washing programs as long it has "washing" don't care about turbo wash, and I don't care about steam function at the dryer... I only need a washer and dryer and... Very important to me is to have dials and buttons, I hate touch buttons! I've noticed it's a frenzy the new guy around the block, that 1 piece tower... I really don't believe in it, it's actually 2 units stacked together with a 1 single command panel, the only thing I like about them was the panel3on both in the middle, but it's all completely touch and I hate it! So, if one breaks... The whole unit is broken, so... That's also something to take into consideration. You don't believe me?! Go have a look at them, look from the side and back as well... They come without the hose and Y connector for the dryer, trust me... If they were intended as a 1 unit, this would have been connected internally, but is not and local store were charging $40 for the Y connector (Home Depot sells them for $5) and another $40 for the hose, which is just a generic hose, as for the washer intake. Now imagine taking up the stairs that whole unit... It weighs a ton. They all have the same parts! Inside is the same. I don't care if works with Google, Alexa or Siri... In my situation I tell to my wife and she does the laundry, she even sorts them and put them in, not like the ones mentioned above. So, in conclusion... If looking for a washer and dryer, choose white (less prone to scratches) Must have "clean thub" it means it can heat the water at high temperature and get rid of odors and decay Must be "direct drive" (no belt) DC pump (very quiet) And a minimum 1300 rpm... Mostly you never going to need it, but have it rated higher so the internal parts are more solid (spider arm, bearing, shock absorbers) And... Take the cheapest one, spending $1000 more it won't last longer, it's just some chromed plastic and different color. P. S. Do not buy Samsung.

With the exception of the pump filter access, these aren't designed to be easy to service. That's just a consequence of being well designed to go down an assembly line as efficiently as possible. Good design for manufacture means being able to assemble with as few different parts, tools, and steps as necessary to make a finished product.
