Just Cause 3 will always be one of those games I’d come by every now and again to just mess around and complete the entire campaign within a few hours. The graphics (on lower end consoles) is amazing and the wacky ragdoll physics are also hilarious to play with 😂

This is the first I've ever heard of load times not being subtracted in a speedrun category. Load times aren't counted precisely because if they are, it turns into a hardware war where whoever spends the most $$$ gets the record. NGL, kinda fucked these guys include load times.

9:42 For a PC game, I absolutely agree. Loads should not be included on a PC category due to differing specs. I could splurge on a really nice NVMe SSD and "beat" a guy who was on an old hard drive solely due to load times. Makes getting the timing a bit painful though, usually easiest with a mod.

6:44 my guess, he's installed to a ram disk. (Basically, using a bunch of RAM as a hard drive.) I know that there are all sorts of RAM disk programs for Windows, and there's no special hardware required. (HDD's work by copying data into RAM on command, and with a RAM disk the data's already there, so the computer doesn't have to do anything special.) (Linux has them built in, though IDK if Just Cause 3 runs acceptably on it). I've used RAM disks with Metroid Prime (through an emulator, of course) with much success. Load times (which in Metroid Prime are indicated by doors not opening instantly when activated) basically disappear.
