Taking Delivery of My **DAMAGED** 2021 Chevy Camaro 

Congratulations on the new ride. It's definitely better than the mustang. Your frustration is understandable, since you bought your car new. In future retrospect these dents & scratches will be insignificant. Hang in there buddy!

No such thing as being too picky. When purchasing a "new" car it should be perfect. The dealer is being a total jerk and I would square up with them through your all important dealer surveys and Google feedback. We ordered a 2021 Scat Pack and took delivery in June and it stays in the garage 95% of the time. It makes me so nervous to get it out and use it as it's intended. Which is better, a perfect car but don't use it or a car you enjoy everyday that will eventually show some wear and tear.....Gotta find the right balance, although I struggle with that notion. It's obvious that you love the car and rightfully so. Get the damage repaired and enjoy that beast. Awesome choice with the color and wheel package.

I'm happy for you! My Camaro had a small dent as well from the factory that I didn't catch. You however do have quite a bit of scratches that I didn't have. It sucks but you caught it first day on video and make sure to keep us posted on what Chevy says about it and what they do about it. Also good call on them NOT washing it. They "washed" mine and I then had to have it all buffed out. I did the PPF and that does help with the OCD over time as we care for our Camaros.

I was so hype for this video. Feel for you man. I already found a ding on my Scat Pack. We need to get our two beasts together! After watching the end, I’d end whatever conversations you’ve got with the dealership and move on. Totally agree that it’s BS. If my Scat Pack would’ve arrived like that I would’ve stopped the process and stolen my SXT keys back 100%. My SXT had wear and tear, but that was expected. Brand new? No freaking way man. Better off just cutting as many ties as you can with that dealer, give em the metaphorical finger. Especially if they’re just passing blame.

I’m the same way bro. We work hard and pay a lot of money. Once you get the pint corrected and then ppf make sure to then ceramic coat the ppf. I’m sure you already planning on it. That’s the life of us car guys. We are perfectionists as it should be

It’s all good! I’m the same way. When I got my 2021 2ss 1lE it came to me from Kansas (to Texas) and the paint was in such bad shape. I’m like you and sure were not alone. We know it’s gonna wear in and get ding and scratched but when you buy new, you expect new.

I can soooooo relate took delivery of my 2021 Camaro LT1 couple weeks ago that I flew in to pickup and drove home to find a paint chip on the lower rocker panel when I washed her the next day. The dealership stepped up after I sent pics to my sales rep asking them to cover the issue and they ended up cutting a check to cover the paint chip so stay on the hauler and dealership to hopefully step up to cover your damage even if you got the response you did I would run it to the highest level of Mgmt within the dealership you can to get it resolved as you have real time video of the issues as soon as it came off the hauler. She is pretty and you will FALL IN LOVE with her more daily as I have owned 4 Mustangs and one each Challenger and a 20 Camaro V6 and she is by far my FAV!!! Stay strong keep the positive attitude and fight to get your issues handled and covered!!!

When you're spending $70K on a new muscle car you can NEVER be to picky. I bought my new '17 ZL1 and it was 1 of the 10% of ZL1's shipped to the dealer in '17 with a defective supercharger and they continued to lie to me saying all is well and they sent me to the speed shop they use for all the specialty work on the Corvette ZO6 and the Camaro ZL1 to "wake it up", why a 650hp car needs to be woken up is the $64 question. I was told as long as the motor wasn't tore down boltons wouldn't void my warrantee, so a 15% pulley, CAI, headers and a custom performance tune was what I had done. The speed shop verified on the dyno that the supercharger was no good from the factory. The lying bastards at the dealer kept telling me "it's all in spec", which was colossal BS. There's internal service docs identifying the problem, I gave then the doc #'s and they were more concerned about how I got the internal docs and info more than fixing my damn car. The problem was the intercooler in the supercharger, now the charge lasted only 7-10 days before it leaked out. Now the same scumbag svc mgr who sent me to the speed shop himself and told me on several occasions boltons wouldn't void my warrantee now says "the car is modified and it's not our problem"... The speed shop popped the top and the failure was exactly what and where the internal docs said, the bricks on one side where the coolant was leaking was ruined. Then Chevy screwed me over again by not selling the bricks on the one side, then a weld would fix it then Chevy wouldn't sell me the brick, all or nothing, a new 1.7 supercharger was $7295!?&#!! After the 4th charge up by the speed shop, I went with a new whipple 2.9 and by the time it was tested, recalibrated and dialed in with new performance tune, and after $8800 the car is finally running the way it should've all along... The effing POS svc mgr fu*ked me real bad... DO NOT LET THE DEALER GET AWAY WITH NOT FIXING YOUR BRAND NEW CAR!!! This goes alot deeper and if you want I'll get more specific but you make sure they fix your car before you do ANY mods, not even a CAI until your car is 110% correct. They're all lying SOBs and you can't give them any reason to void your warrantee, get it in writing that boltons won't void anything if they tell you what they told me. Dodge is the worst at that game, and Chevy is just as mucked up as Dodge. I hear Ford is the best in this type of situation but unfortunately I truly despise mustangs, they're a dime a dozen. I would be pissed, I'm picky too. I would have picked it up from the dealership and physically inspected it there. I had a similar experience, the dealership delivered a hard to find new RST Tahoe to my house. I found two little dings, I sent it back and ordered one from another dealership. The dings can be easily fixed usually with PDR. The other thing they tried to do , that made me send it back was slamming me with excessive fees.Doc and prep fees,after having the final out the door price agreed upon. But, I requested no car wash just like you and to have all the plastic left on. I should have recorded the look on the guy's face when I sent it back and told him I wasn't going to buy it. He thought he had a slam dunk with all that paperwork , Priceless!!

Dealer polished my 1LE hood when I bought it and ruined the wrap. Had to fight with GM (took months) for them to admit responsibility. Ended up getting the hood re wrapped and GM gave me a $500 GM gift card in which I used for a dash cam. Dealership failed to take blame. Made me sick. I feel you man.

Guy climbing in the window is crazy I would be like I will do it. I never let the dealership wash my car. I saw a kid doing it the sponge 🧽 dropped he just picked it up and went to town.Car is awesome looking mint.

First off, this is a sexy ride like you said! Congratulations! I’ve had my 2021 LT1 for months now and I love it. To make you feel slightly better about a piece of this is that what looks like a ding on the rear license plate area from what i’ve heard is a “drill area” for foreign plates. It’s on mine as well and that’s what the dealership told me as well as on the forums with other Camaros. A lot of them have “mounting templates” in that area. Either way, I sympathize w you on that very interesting feature from Chevy🫤 I hope you are enjoying that beauty to the fullest.

We got ours delivered in April I told the dealer the same thing don’t wash they did anyways I almost had a Heart attack when the delivery guy climbed thru the window to get it out 200 miles had to have it towed to have the valve springs replaced almost 2000 miles all that in the past we love love this car the power is just unreal

It's a brand new car.... not supposed to be a scratch and dent car. Those guys are assholes for not just bucking up and getting it fixed. There's a scratch and dent guy in Columbus Ohio I watched remove dents from a car in a parking lot. When he was done the cat looked perfect and he charged them like $30 per dent. He removed some light scratches too. It was cool to watch and I was surprised at how affordable it was.

Congratulations on your new Camaro. I too love that color. I found a 2022 Camaro LT1 in transit, in the same color, that I placed a deposit on to guarantee that car was mine. Like you I made specific instructions to the dealership not to wash it, etc which they honored. However after washing and cleaning it for seemed like hours, i found damage on mine also. I have been a car guy all my life and have owned numerous cars, 46 to be exact. Even though it’s frustrating I’ve realized that when I give the dealership the opportunity of try fixing anything it comes back worse. Therefore I just accept it is what it is. It’s good to see someone like myself that is just as picky as I am with their cars lol. Enjoy that gorgeous Camaro, I am!

Make sure to PPF the rockers and door bottoms. Even my 2ss with stock tires kicks up lots of rocks onto the side. I would even recommend the ZL1 add on rock guards.

I feel your pain. My new 2021 Camaro had a small dent on the fender back one by the trunk. Also had a little wave on the front fender. I got most if it out, but I was annoyed. I love my car.

Dealers response was horrible. But in their defense, if you do not let them clean the car it is VERY hard to find scratches and stuff. The sill plate was blatantly overlooked, but everything else would have seemed hard to find. Either way try out your warranty, but in the end if you plan to put thousands of miles good luck having that 1LE be spotless.

I also have a 2021 camaro ss 1LE blacked out but mines a 10 speed auto I love it so fast!

It saddens me to see this kind of stuff man, after so much hard work on your end to even LOCATE a car. SMH. keep your head up man, you’re paying for a spotless car you should expect it to arrive as such. On a more positive note, the outro is KILLER bro! You should see how new cars get handled when delivered at rail yards.. brand new cars, zero miles, throttle to the floor, bouncing off ramps, flying over rails Lol.. somethings you just can't avoid. The damage to your car sucks but hey, it's what comes with doing a home delivery.. you should always take delivery at the dealership and point out any issues immediately, then they have no choice but to repair it.

It’s so hard to keep these cars perfect especially if you daily drive it… I was pretty upset when I found a few rock chips on my challenger but that’s just how it goes when you drive it everyday

I feel your pain. Just bought a 2022 LT1 RS in the Rapid Blue color and 6 DAYS later some dipshit hits me in the front. It was just a fender bender but my grill has holes in it. Bottom part of the bumper has a giant gash and hole in it and chipped paint all across the top part of the bumper. Happened yesterday, still waiting for the police/accident report to see if this dude has insurance. Probably not seeing how he wouldn’t cooperate with me or the cops that were there when it happened.

My 2018 SS 1LE arrived with a row of dents along the bottom of the drivers side door and a paint chip right on the tip of the front bumper. The dealership dent repair guy said it would need a whole new door and the entire side of the car painted! I took it to a local dent repair place and he completely erased the dents without any paint damage. A little bit of touch-up paint dealt with the chip on the bumper. It was painful not receiving the car in perfect condition, especially since it was my very first brand new car. But at least it was all repairable. And they are such incredible cars that I quickly got over those initial issues.

Congratz Austin. Man is that an awesome looking color. Nice choice on that. I'd probably be pissed too, but don't sweat that small door ding too much, that can be removed easily along with that small scratch on the bumper. That looks like it'll polish out. You made the right choice dropping that Mustang for this beauty.

The front bumper paint doesn't match very good either. That little scratch on the back bumper is nothing. The door sill can be changed.

I am in love with camaro ZL1 whe I was 8 years old & the best part is that you own it :D dents and scratches doesn't decrease the performance, give love to your car and fix those dents. :D

Eyyy it’s all good! Unfortunately dings n scratches during transportation is pretty common. But you still got an amazing vehicle man.

Congrats man. I know it can be annoying with the scratches and dings but don’t worry about it. The dealership doesn’t care and won’t help since you’re not local. They know you can’t show up everyday and make them fix it. Chevy dealerships are the worst so good luck with finding one close that take the ownership of honoring the warranty work.

My 2021 Camaro looks just like yours. Now I am afraid to get too close to it and find some dent or scratch, I'll just be careful.

Identical to mine but I don’t have the red seat belts. You’re 100% right, a new car should be new and GM should have to fix it. If we wanted cars with dents and scratches in it, we would buy used. I noticed just like mine, the paint on the front bumper doesn’t match the rest of the car. I had mine in to the dealer to see if they will fix it but haven’t heard back. It’s frustrating for sure. Also, watch the vinyl on the hood, a lot of them start to wrinkle around the hood vent. GM will replace the vinyl but they ship their vinyl folded not rolled

Car looks great,,, I just got my 21 SS 1LE as well. Thankfully no damage. I worked with Chevydude on youtube and he made sure that my car was looked over prior to delivery. Hope you got the few things taken care of.

The round dimple on the back licence plate area is on all camaros, I have same car, it is a mounting point for something

You should have gotten the 2022 in my opinion because other people are getting 2022 and showing it off on RU-vid. Hopefully I get mines too

PDR from an experienced person. Paint correction and the sill plate replaced. It's all under 500 bucks if the paint correction is minimal. I wouldn't overdo the paint work. It's a car and is going to depreciate. But keeping it up to a factory level every year will ensure maximum resale. My friend just took me for a ride in his California T. I declined to drive it, but will do so in a few days. He buys the supercars right, keeps them factory and upgrades every so often. Don't mod the car until you think you will keep it for a few years. Factory is always the best condition.

Bought my SS brand new from a dealer last year and I absolutely love the car and have put a lot of work and money into it since then. But getting it from the dealer was so aggravating. The dealership was about 45min from where I live so I negotiated them trailering it to me. My car had dealer installed options like the Camaro lettering badging on the fenders and they fucked it up so bad. Scratching on both sides, deep scratches in the clear coat. So I sent it back and they had to repaint. Then once brought back to me the guy who brought it to me was the same guy and super cool, he’s a car guy as well and had even bought a corvette from the same dealership. He points shit out again. This time I had overspray from the paint on the fenders and the front bumper being touched up. So had to do the whole process again and during it the owner of the dealership even said I could send it back and cancel the deal if I wanted. Couldn’t believe it lol and I would’ve too if it was easy to get what I wanted. Had a garnet red 10 speed with recaros and like I said I’ve don’t a lot to it. Point is, it’s honestly sad no one cares and people aren’t careful and take pride in their work

... believe it or not most of the lot damage I see happens when the cars arrive from transport. Crazier yet is how much of it gets blamed on the "evil dealer" but the guys that move your new car around in vehicle haulers, trains boats, etc etc are almost mostly to blame

When my 2022 2SS 1Le arrives hopefully, im gonna daily drive it during summer no matter how bad the neighbouring hood from where i work at. Dents,chips ang high mileage i dont care. Im not concerned about the value of the car coz it will be forever stay with me. Just let your auto pack deal with it.

I went through the same thing in May 2021 and it had 550 mi on it because they said they drove it from another dealership because they were so short on the chips that goes into the computers so I bought my car when it was raining so I never even thought about checking the paint job which is my bad for sure but was devastated because I know someone else had been driving that car for a while because it's black and it has scratches all over it and swirls from hell all over the vehicle! I got the packages that's supposed to cover that but since it was a factory car, they did not honor any of the packages and it was covered for everything you can imagine. It was so bad that I called an attorney and they still never did anything so needless to say 3 months after buying a car a lady decided to go through a red light and clipped my tail passenger side and of course it had to be right where my tire was. Just such an awful experience. All I can say is make sure to get a dash cam! All I had to do is send them a video of the accident but still it's just not the same after it's been wrecked😕

Didn’t have any damage on the ones I bought. I can see why you are upset. Door dings will happen People will find the biggest pile they can and park right beside ya and smack it. Get a PDR guy to fix the dent and get paint perfection done with a ceramic coating. Get the vinyl done befor the ceramic as it won’t stick after that

Someone else may have mentioned this as I haven’t read all the comments. The ding on the door should be fixed. Just get a pdr person. Maybe 100-125. That dimple on the bumper is normal. The bumper has dimples for us plates and European plates. Those are the European. A new car being perfectly scratch free is hard considering that it’s loaded on rail or truck and people are walking around it. Also the body panels are punched out in a huge press and even when the die gets older it can cause some small waves. Fix the dings you can and enjoy.

Just traded my 21 gt premium for a 23 1ss 1le the Camaro is better in ever way imaginable but when I came home I noticed the dealership didn’t do a great job of washing of this sticky residue over the car. So my pops got dish soap and used the ruff part of a sponge and put swirls all over the glass of my car even the back spoiler and a little on the wrap smh I almost had a break down, now I gotta find a reputable detailer who can buff out most the imperfections but aside from all that mess I love the car.

I'm not into Chevrolet but this Camaro looks good. Pls change the reverse lights to LED tho. Those yellow halogens look terrible.

Those are such minor scratches. You can get that ding repaired for $25-$50 by a dentless ding repair place. Just remember you are going to get chips, dings, etc just from everyday driving. Just enjoy your nice new ride and don’t stress about it.

i got my 2021 Camaro ss in Great condition although i didn't order it i found it at a Chevy dealer and i looked out for anything wrong with the car once i saw nothing wrong i paid. The dealership should cover this since it left there with all these issues you shouldn't have to pay at all for any of this, and no you are not being picky you are paying a lot of money for a "NEW" car.

to me camaro is way better than t mustang, i like both the mustang and camaro, but if i had to pick between these 2 it will be camaro, congratulations on you’re vehicle bro 😎

I hate to say this my friend, but welcome to Chevrolet's quality control. I purchased my Hyper Blue Metallic 2016 Camaro SS, brand new, from a dealer showroom. When I got the car home, you could see the paint was poorly applied on the left rear fender. The dealer said they could repaint the area, but who in hell wants an aftermarket spot paint job? As you said, these cars cost too damn much to have blemishes and cosmetic issues at delivery.

You got yourself a beautiful car man! It’s such a shame you found so many damages in your brand new car. I personally don’t think you’re too picky I mean you’ve paid top dollar for that beast I mean the least that they should do is treat it with the utmost respect.

It's all about what hill you believe is worth dying on. If this is truly important to you, then pursue it to its conclusion. Of all the damage I saw, I would have been most annoyed about the scratch in the door sill. The others do not seem to be as noticeable, but that is just my opinion.

Hopefully they will at least fix the ding.

The small rounds dents next to rear plates is normal . I have a 21 SS as well and I noticed them also . Bought my SS in nov 2020 and only hv 1750 miles on it

Fellow Satin Steel owner, beautiful, but I would be upset on delivery for sure. I got Xpel Ultimate wrapped on my whole vehicle right away but crap happens

Guess it’s best to pick it up from the dealer that way you can blame the dealer before you take it off the lot

I feel for you,, we spend our hard earned money on what we love, and it sucks when these subpar dealers shit on us. I would not accept that much damage. I know it's harder to find a left over 21 1LE that meets your specs, I think I would wait on a 22 or try to find another if possible,, Good luck with your situation.

I've been binge watching your videos as I am thinking about making a go at ordering a LT1. I appreciate your candor and transparency with the emotions of such an investment of time and money to not be perfect. I hate that the dealership wont take any responsibility. Did they completely forgo the PreDelivery Inspection all together?

I realize the state of things these days, but if you're super particular like that - you need to not be buying in advance, and you need to find a car that is on a lot that you can really look over. Not saying I would've been thrilled about it, but I DID buy a 2020 1LE that the dealer missed stuff on. It hit me the same way, but the difference was - I said to them that you have two options.. drop the price to compensate for the damage and I will take it to someone else to fix, or I'm walking out the door because I'm not contractually bound to you. Your choice. They chose to meet me at my price point and pay for the fixes as well. Keep the cards in your hands, not theirs. In the meantime, enjoy your car.. it's the best Camaro they've ever made. I LOVE my 1LE, and you will too!

Man, I hate that you are going through this. Hopefully you have a good repair shop that can make everything better than new. The color is definitely awesome, I may be a little biased! The small indention on the rear to the left of where the tag is are intentional. I believe these are there if you are from a foreign country and have a different size tag.

Sorry about your car. You are not picky at all. I would be upset as well. The dealer should fix the car at no cost to you. The car was intransport and delivered with damage. They should have insurance to cover the damages. Hope it all works out for you.

Was that second to last ding where the license plate goes? If so I think all of them have dimples in bumper. You were smart to not have them wash it. My dealership washed mine once in their scratch bay and swirled my paint all up.

I got my 2021 LT1 and with 31 miles on it a valve broke and it sat in the dealer for a week It could be worse

Just came across this video so a little late to the party, just wanted to say sorry about the scratches on your new delivery, that’s a bummer. But as far as the dents go, this car’s metal is extremely thin. I’ve never owned another car like it. You have to be careful not to dent it hand washing it, and especially on the top flat part of the rear quarter panels. Don’t put weight on it when your washing it. I had a 17’ SS, I’ve done it lol. I also noticed one day that the bottom part of the the front fender, where it flares out a little along the door started to push out. I carefully pushed on it with my thumbs and the metal literally pushed in, and then popped back out leaving waves. The paint is very thin and fragile as well, you can chip it accidentally with even a finger nail. That being said, I still love these cars, got rid of mine because of other problems, but I would consider another one with a 6 speed. Good luck with it 👍
